Good morning. 42 and raining. It is to rain all day and may get to the mid 50's. A good day to catch up on some much needed work in the house. I put in a long day outside yesterday but took my time getting things done. Got half of the big garden tilled and 2 dozen monstrous tomato plants in the ground staked or caged. Have another dozen smaller ones of that variety to put in but after looking downstairs at what I have left from last year may not put them in. I am sure I will put them in. Still have to till the other half of the garden and plant at least 2 dozen of another variety of tomatoes and about a dozen of them are the monstrous plants. They take a lot of time. Then I can get the broccoli and cabbage in and plant the cucumber and zucchini seed. First thing while it was cool I got the small geraniums all arranged in trays by color and type and they are now on a rack on the deck so I can walk around out there. There are 9 trays of them but still have quite a few baskets and containers to put up. Once it dries up again and the sun shows up I want to get one greenhouse down and get that side of the deck set up for summer.
Am not sure if Annabelle is coming today or not. Either way I need to get busy here in the house. I have managed to get all the house plants watered so far this morning. The kitchen is next on the list. It is a disaster area at the moment. Once that is done I have 10# of boneless chicken breasts to package and get in the freezer. They are big ones so I am sure the tenders are still attached and I will separate them and freeze separately. Need to get the seed rack out of the living room and bat cave and get that mess cleaned up for the summer.
Chris, hope you had an enjoyable BBQ with DS last night. Did the guys catch any fish? Right now the weather here for Friday looks to be partly cloudy and in the mid 70's. Nice day for a ride.
Marlene, holding you close as these days pass waiting for what will happen. I am lucky at my age to still be able to do the physical labor that I do. Each year it seems to take a little longer. Yes, I am like an old farmer. Early to bed and early to rise. LOL
Nancy, I am sure you are just waiting for school to get out and get on with summer. We are having the same weather but no A/C. In fact my heat was on this morning.
Birdy, I love rhubarb. I thought last summer I thought I had lost my patch. It did poorly and actually died off over the summer. Thankfully it is back strong this year. I am a purist however, I want just rhubarb in my pie. However, I have made rhubarb/strawberry jelly for the Gkids.
Elza, even if you didn't get everything done Saturday glad to had time to sit and watch the baseball game with DH. Good that SC won even if you didn't get to see it.
Tasty, nice that you are getting your beds cleaned up the way you want them. Looks like we are sharing the same weather. Definitely not salad weather. We have gotten 9/10 of an inch of rain in the past 3 days including the 3/10 we got overnight.
Ann sounds like you gardening is coming along nicely.
Lori, your house sure is getting a makeover. Nice that now that school is out you are finding time to enjoy cooking also.
Tammy, thinking of you as this week passes. Nice that your dishes were empty when you brought them home. Happy cooking for the coffee shop. A lot of work. Sorry about your cookbooks. Sure hope they get returned.
Doris, nice to see you here. Thanks for the compliments on Annabelle. She will definitely get a big hug when she comes. I have missed here this past week.
Elaine, glad you were able to stop by. I am sure your visit yesterday was a difficult one. Good luck with your rhubarb.
Last night's dinner was stuffed green peppers with french fries and fresh h/g asparagus.
I think I have been here way too long.
Have a great day.
