Good morning. 50 here this morning and we might see 70 today but mostly sunny. Then we have 2 days of rain and possibly 3. Was busy most of the day yesterday but not much to show for it. Only got 5 more hanging baskets put up but that makes 34. Don't think I am going to make the 56 however. I was having problems finding the colors of geraniums I needed as they we all over the place so spent a couple of hours sorting by color. Now the geraniums are all out of the greenhouses and all over the deck. They are pretty much grouped by color and type. Will try to get them into trays and a little neater today. Did get 30 bell peppers in the ground and 7 cauliflower. Have no idea why I thought another 12 broccoli and 6 cabbage were going to fit in that raised bed so they will have to go in the big garden. Today the plan is to get at least half of the big garden tilled and the Brandywine tomatoes in the ground. I think there are over 2 dozen of them. The tomatoes I put in the ground the other day are really looking good. If I get this much done today I will be collapsing into bed early tonight.
Tammy, please accept my sympathy for your loss.
Ann, I sure hope that wood chuck doesn't decide to hang around.
Betsy, congrats on award you DD received. Hope you had fun at the baby shower.
Marlene, maybe you need to treat Red Like a baby and turn him upside down. They always said if a baby had their nights and days backwards as far a sleeping to turn them upside down and that would straighten them out. LOL I enjoy my garden work most of the time. Starting all the plants gives me something to do during the long winter months and enjoy having all the canned food as well as the fresh.
Tammy, how did the smoker work? Sounds like you had a busy day a church yesterday.
Elza, sounds like a busy day with the house yesterday. Hope you have some time to enjoy yourself today.
Lori, you cooking sounds good. My kind of day.
Well I have been up almost 2 hours. I think quiet time is over and time to get to work.
Have a great day.
Bet

Bet- We will be having the same weather as you. Just hope Friday is good for the bike trip to Lake George and Americade.
DH and DS are fishing and later we will have a cook out again. Son is loving having every Sunday with us and cooking out. LOL He has been hungry for that for years. His ex would not allow it.

It is going to be a hot day here. No breeze at all. Will go to church then don't know what I will do after. I need to go to Wally World I need a light for my salt lamp as it went out last night and what ever jumps in my cart. that is the way it seems if I go in with list always more in my cart!! Will see if Marge wants to go along.
Red has been out twice and now out for 3rd time. Came in with mud under his claws so had to have them washed. He is getting better and at letting me do that. Least I know he is doing his duty outside!! Woke me up at 4:00 and had to let him out.
Bet you must go to sleep and sleep sound for all the work you are doing!! I think I have busy days, nothing compared to you. Is great you can do what you like to do.
Chris so glad DS is there by you. Sounds like he is enjoying his life much more now. That is all we could ever wish for our children. Seen picture of my nephew and wife on Facebook and they are celebrating 41 years together today. They are having his Mother's sale today as she just passed away last month. She was my DSIL funeral I went to last month.
Better go and get myself ready for Church and see what the day brings.

Good morning friends.
(((Tammy & Marlene))))
Betsy, A big congratulations to your DD!
Lori, My last day of work is the 13th and the 15th for the kids. Can't wait!
Yesterday youngest DD and I went to the pool. I didn't go in all the way as the water was too cold for me. However, I do enjoy sitting at a table working on variety puzzles and reading a book. Today it's in the 60's so no pool for us.
Last night DH and I ate out at a Spanish/Portuguese restaurant. We ordered a seafood platter for two that consisted of shrimp, lobster, clams, oysters, mussels and flounder.
I have a spiral ham that's been in the basement fridge and I might make that for dinner today. Maybe invite some friends to join us. I'll see how I feel after grocery shopping.
Now to A.C. Moore to get some materials for oldest DD French project.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

Tammy--my sincere sympathies for your loss.
Nancy--your description of that seafood platter sounds sooooo good. Just what I would have ordered.
Sometime this week, I plan to make my mother's version of rhubarb pie. She never really liked the combination with strawberries so it was a bit of an experiment for her to try another mixture. She saw a recipe that used grated fresh orange rind and decided that maybe the actual orange would be good in the pie. She would cut up a navel orange in chunks and add it to the rhubarb. I have to say that the family loved it and we had it that way from that time on. I made it for my pastor once and he served it to guests for supper that night. He said that they practically licked the plate. I don't know if it's a unique recipe but I haven't run into a version like hers yet.
I've also seen a rhubarb/banana pie at a local diner. I'm not sure about that one! LOL! I suppose it would be good if you weren't a real fan of rhubarb on its own.
I have to get something accomplished. I've been on the computer too long this morning. Have a good day, all.

Good afternoon, everybody. We had a good morning at church and a delicious lunch at a local Italian/Greek restaurant. I had one of my favorites, the eggplant parmagiana. The eggplant is grilled, not fried, and the house-made sauce is so good. I brought half of it home so that will be a couple of lunches this week!
I didn't get as much done as I could have yesterday, but I enjoyed spending some time watching baseball with DH. Turned on the Braves game in the bottom of the ninth, and they ended up going to 14 innings! After that we were hoping to see the NCAA game between South Carolina and Eastern Carolina, but it was delayed by the previous game going long and then a lightning delay. I was glad to find this morning that SC won. After I get off here I'll finish up the remaining chores and then probably hit the sofa with my library book.
Tammy, thinking of you and DH and all your family. Along with all the emotions that a death brings, there is also just a lot to do -- stuff to clear out, and decisions to make. Praying that all will go smoothly.
Hot weather today but not quite as humid, which helps -- my computer says 86 degrees here right now.

We got busy outside while we could this morning - while it was dry. I also had laundry on the go. How can 2 people come up with 7 loads of laundry in one week? Admittedly I had 3 loads just of bedding - sheets for one, the comforter was a second and I also washed the mattress cover along with the comforter cover. Thought it was a while since they had all been done so might as well get it all done together.
Hubby finished cutting grass and I was busy weeding and mulching the flower beds. 3 are completely done now, 2 almost done with and the shade garden I haven't touched as yet 🙄 maybe this week sometime.
Now some much needed rain is falling. Yeah! - no watering tonight.
I had been thinking of some type of salad for supper but the temperature has dropped so I've pulled some chili from the freezer and we'll have that with baked potato 😉
Sounds like everyone is having a good day - enjoy!

Hello friends.
Just another busy day, but I'm taking 5 minutes to sit and rest before I start putting the dinning room/living room back together. DH and I got two walls done this weekend--trim, primer, and two coats of color. Now just need to do the remaining 3 walls in there, then on to the kitchen/laundry room, and finally the master bedroom.
In between painting and dry time, I mixed up two different cookies that I will bake the next few days.
DH and I were so tired last night that we didn't even bother eating dinner after I cooked it. Plans are to just warm up the burgers and have the cucumber salad and pasta salad if the spirit moves us.
Waving to all.
Lori

Good Afternoon !
Just got up from a long winter's-make that summer's - nap! Have not gotten anything done today except finished the food to go to church, attended service and lunch there. Today was spaghetti day. Everyone liked what I brought so my dishes were empty when I brought them home. I had planned on getting a piece of my dessert but someone had brought homemade apple pie, so I got that. It was fantastic. I thin it was even home made crust.
DH just got off the phone with his youngest DS. The funeral will be Monday, so we will plan on leaving here Thursday.
I heard him say that when we go back at the end of the month for his chorale reunion we will stay about a week.
I just asked if he wanted to go and get something to eat, he said no. He is not really hungry. Since he does not care that much for spaghetti, I thought he would like to go and get a meal. We'll just stay home and snack. He bought a cake at a bake sale today. It looks like chocolate, but not for sure what flavor it is. It was a fund raiser for the youth.
The smoker worked great. The ribs could have cooked a little longer. They were tougher than we like. I think we will enjoy it. We decided we'd like more seasoning. I was trying to get them to taste like the ones we get at Mueller's bbq in Taylor. I saw a tv show where he demonstrated his technique, and they used only black pepper.
Birdy, that is an interesting combination of flavors for the rhubarb pie. It sounds good, though. I happen to love rhubarb, and I love strawberry/ rhubarb combo.
I stopped by the dollar store to pick up plastic cups, so I might get more tiramisu cups done tonight. I plan on dropping the stuff off tomorrow morning at the coffee shop.
I loaned my new cookbooks (by Debbie Macomber and Joanna Gaines) to a neighbor who loves to cook. She said she would return them before she left on her summer trip. She will be gone until August 1, and I noticed they are gone and she never brought my books back.
I did get a couple cookbooks from a new friend, and they are for the Instant Pot. They are on loan also, she did not give them to me.
Guess I need to look in the freezer and plan a couple meals for the week, hopefully ones that wont' make leftovers!

Hello To All, My condolences to you, Tammy and Dave and to your extended family for the loss of "Your Dear One". Be safe as you travel back to the services and to take care of business.
Tammy, I have loaned many things over the years and almost without fail they never came home in the condition the they left, if they came home at all. My late DH would not loan or borrow anything....his theory was if you need it, go buy it. Do you have a phone # to see if she has someone who could return your books....2 months is a long wait.
Betsy, you have had many exciting things going on.....congrats to your DD's. I am sure the baby shower was a fun time.....it won't be too long until the "wee one" will be here. As always, safety to your DS.
Bet, I hope your Dr.'s visit brought good news. You are one busy lady and you get unbelievable amounts of work done.....give little Annibell a hug, she is just a little doll.
Marlene, hugs to you....so sorry for all you have been through and are still dealing with, it seems to be endless. I am not surprised at DMIL further decline, it often happens that when one goes the other isn't far behind. You are such a treasure to your family and to your friends and neighbors. Red is being a little stinker....he has your number!!!
Chris, hope all is going well w/both new positions for you and DH....can be stressful until they become routine. So nice that DS is close and you are able to spend some time together......certainly doesn't hurt that he is a great cook too.
Good evening to everyone, Doris
