Good morning friends--starting us off. Wishing everyone a beautiful day.
It just finished raining. I'm headed out the door for an early morning bike ride before the heat and humidity check in for the day--will be back later to chat.

Enjoy your bike ride Lori.
It is 61 here at 6.30 and very pleasant but by the time I'm on the golf course this afternoon it will be 80 and feel like 90+ - yuk! Oh well, nothing I can do about it. Hubby will be on his own for supper this evening as I will eat at the golf club with friends after our game. Haircut this morning and I'll pop into the curling club as the cement for our new floor is being poured this morning. If I have time, there's lots to do outside still.
Have a wonderful Wednesday 😎

Good morning.
It's drizzling here today in San Diego. I have some laundry to do today from our trip to Texas. I am still tired from sight seeing.
Youngest dd is taking finals this week. My senior dd is done after today. She is not a bit sad to be leaving high school. Tomorrow she gets her cap and gown and Friday she has graduation practice. Today she gets her final grades and says goodbye to all her teachers.
I wish you all a lovely day.

Good morning ~ We did not get much rain yesterday. Could have used much more for the crops. I made coffee and had a bagel w/ strawberry cream cheese for breakfast. Crushed some graham crackers will make an Easy Orange salad in a 9x13 glass pan. Have the 5 bean salad made that I did yesterday. It is suppose to marinade, did have a little dish with supper last night and is good. So will put in a nice glass bowl. Will also make the Sour Cream Raisin Bar also. that will be my donation for the dinner. The funeral home called me and wanted me to pick up food for the dinner at Mark's. Called Mark and he will load it in my car. I will put down a small tarp so if it spill will be on the tarp not my carpet. Still can't figure out why Virginia did not call me to do it. This is the oldest daughter that goes to our church. Mark is super busy and can not get away to bring it to church.
Will get back to my cooking. Nice to see you back Betsy and you had a nice trip. Sounds like your family is super busy also. nice to hear you have a wedding coming very soon too. Chris I hope you are rested your week-end get away. Sounds like you had a nice time and good sleep with the waves. That is nice I always enjoyed my trip to Grand Maria and had a motel on Lake Superior and could hear the waves. Need to go back there again and renew the good old days!! Lori sounds like your DH is busy at nights and week-end painting and fixing up your house and getting new curtains. You will enjoy all the hard work when it is done.
Have a great day everyone.

Hello once again. Today is National Mint Julep Day.
Got the bike ride in this morning despite a few quick moving showers. However it has been pouring non-stop rain since 10am and radar looks like there's more to come. Currently it is 74*.
Started to and need to go back to, after my break, emptying out my china cabinet. Will need to move this week, due to painting, and just too heavy to move with everything in it. DH wants to starting prepping the two walls in the living room/dining room that will be getting the new window treatments. Tomorrow evening he wants to take down the current treatments and then cover the windows with brown paper, Friday fill in the holes in walls, Saturday paint the trim, and Sunday get the two walls done. If all goes as planned, then next weekend we'll do the other walls. Yes, lots of hard work.
Decided I was going to make salads for our dinner tonight. Got everything ready to go and will put it together just before we sit down to eat.
Back to work I must go. Take care everyone--waving to all.

Hello friends, Lori, your house will look so nice when all the work is done.
Betsy, glad you enjoyed the weekend in Texas. It is going to be close to 100* where we are for the next 10 days or so. I hope it was slightly cooler over in San Antonio.
I unpacked the Instant Pot today. I am hoping to use it for supper. I have pork chops thawed out so am making a casserole of browned chops layered with sliced potatoes and onions, and a can of soup. Since I play cards at 6 tonight it will be an early supper.
I had all the ingredients for supper so I was able to stay home today. Just doing more laundry and need to vacuum. Waving to everyone. Have a nice day!

I love reading about all y'all's good cooking. I have not done squat this week, but I do have a small roast out to put in the crock pot tomorrow.
DH & I went out to one of his favorite places tonight, the Earle Street Grill. Their food is good, but what keeps him coming back is that they make (his words) "real" banana pudding. It's the only place I've ever known him to order dessert. Every time we're there, he asks if they have banana pudding, and if they do, he gets it. So since, he got dessert tonight, I had to keep him company, right? I had the Mississippi Mud Pie which was a delicious light coffee mousse filling with a chocolate crust and chocolate glaze on top.
We both had the Chicken Fried Chicken for dinner, with goat cheese mashed potatoes and green beans with bacon. And we both brought half of our chicken & potatoes home for another meal.
More rain today but thankfully we have not had the kind of flooding they've had up in western NC and even in Greenville. Looks like it's about to get stormy outside this evening, though --
