Good morning friends.
We didn't have the spaghetti and meatballs for dinner last night. We went out and had a late lunch and the DH and the kids had ice cream after that. We decided to take a drive to Garret Mountain for a nice long walk after lunch.
When we got home we still weren't hungry so we'll have the pasta tonight.
Enjoy your day.

Here I am!! I just got back from town. Had to pay funeral home and pick up death certificates. Take things to lawyer and cash a check, and take death certificate to bank and get groceries. Think will make a 5 bean salad for church Thursday and pan of Sour Cream Raisin Bars. Have been hungry for the bean salad and Sam's did not have it last time so will try to make my own. Can't be that hard.
Made Red stay in house last night as I had to catch him!! He spent 2 nights outside. Now he has been sleeping all day. He is something else. The wind has come up a little and the cover for my grill obviously was not put on right ? as it was ready to blow away so brought it in until I can do better job putting it on!! How hard is it Marlene??? Some days I really wonder!!
Will see if anyone else is around to get on. Have a great day!

I'm right here! I slept in and then had a lot to do in the rv to get it back into looking somewhat straightened up. We in loaded the car and just set down stuff everywhere there was room. It looked almost like a tornado went through here! Most of my stuff is put away somewhere and I took Helen's items to her. I brought her some of MIL's things-a new purse, (Helen mentioned that she needed a larger one). Also Helen has been wanting a cast iron skillet. She gave her to a niece. There was a tea room that had a gift shop, but the owner got sick so the place has been closed for months. they sold skillets and Helen looked at them but did not buy one, when we went back it was closed. She was happy to get it. I had her look at some clothes too. Helen likes to wear jeans with elastic waist - and that is another thing we have looked at so many stores and can't find her size, or else they are capris, or they are mid-rise-always something. MIL had 1 pair of elastic waist jeans. I knew they were too big but thought I could take them in to fit her. She thinks I should keep them, but not sure I will.
We also went by Aldi's and I got Helen a folding table for patio, if she wanted it. Turns out she loved it. She was happy.
I made DH grilled cheese for lunch, and not sure about supper. I have some side dishes, also some cooked chicken breasts, but can't decide what to actually do with it. Chicken and rice casserole sounds good, but will have to dig in the pantry to see what all is in there.
It is very hot . All week will be between 96 and 98 making the "feel like" temp just above 100*.
Elza, I saw photos on facebook. Magnolia is adorable!
Need to run and check on the dryer.
I still have not unpacked my Instant Pot yet, but might use it tomorrow.

Hello everyone. I'm here, just had a busy morning.
Today is National Coq Au Vin Day. It was also celebrated on March 22nd.
I began my day with ironing--2 1/2 hours worth. DH seemed to wear a ton of shirts this past weekend with painting and lawn cutting. He tells me that I don't have to iron his shirts that he wears for the above, but I iron everything. Comes from years of helping my DM with ironing shirts for DF when he worked at Ford Motor.
Then came a call, actually the first of several from my MIL. FIL was moving from one facility to the other this morning and she just needed to bark, yell, and blame somebody--lucky me. FIL is all settled now and MIL is calmed down. My last words to her were to take a deep breath and now let the new facility take care of her, saying she had a rough month. Much to my surprise, she said, "oh you know me so well dear, I'm tired and just need to let others wait on me." OMG, I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time, but I knew I better not.
The window treatment man from the store was here earlier then he said he'd be. Found out he grew up back in Michigan where my DB lives--doesn't know him but knows of his lawn company. Waiting for the finals to come in and then in about 2-3 weeks, new treatments will be installed.
Afterwards I ran to Winn Dixie to buy coffee that is on sale, today being the last day. I bought a container last Friday at Publix, paying almost $13 for it! I stood there in the store and debated if I really needed to drink it or not. Thought maybe it was just the brand, but they were all close in price. Wondered what it was made with--golden coffee beans? Put it into my cart, but told myself I was going to have to find something cheaper or give it up as I wouldn't pay that price again. Since then I have researched it online and found I could get it at a better price so I may be ordering that way in the future. However, a friend called me last night about this sale, so I got 2 containers for the price of 1. I bought the last 4 on the shelf and threw them into the freezer.
From there I ran to Trader Joe's to get my dried strawberries. Ann, I know you asked me for the Banana-Split Zucchini Bread recipe. I will get it posted in the next day or two.
Finally back home, I went out for a long bike to just clear my mind. Two hours later I arrived back home to find 3 young boys playing on our new front lawn. They were barefoot and doing summer saults and cartwheels. When I asked them what was going on here, all three said, "these people have nice grass. Most places have weeds or sand." I smiled and told them I was happy they liked my new lawn, but they couldn't use it as their private playground. They left promptly, but about 15 minutes later, one boy returned and rang my front door--his mother sent him back he said to say he was sorry.
Need to take a shower and get the sweat off me, then I'll be in the kitchen to make dinner. Something with chicken.
I'll be back later. Waving to all.

Afternoon, friends! Late getting on today. Went to the senior center, and then we went to the grocery store. Put all away, and then took Duchess to the groomers to get her nails trimmed...best $10 I've spent in a while!!! Poor kitty, she wass so good, but she was scared and shaking. She recovered quickly once we were home; she's snoozing on the porch now!!! I spent a good portion of the afternoon making a recipe using chicken thighs that I want to submit to TOH. It's a take on chicken paprika. We'll have it with a whole grain rice blend and steamed broccoli. Lori - What kind of coffee did you buy? My Kenyan neighbor gives me coffee beans that his mom & dad send in "care packages"; it's so delicious! Hope everyone has a great evening! Back tomorrow! Waving!

Hello all.
DH and I went to San Antonio for the weekend. We had such a great time. DH's best friend and his wife live there. It was great to see them. I am super tired though. We were out late every night and then back site seeing early. Super fun though.
Nancy, dil is feeling fine. They have have new puppy so that is keeping them on their toes. They are getting married next week.
My car is getting an oil change right now and then I have to run to the store. The food was too, too good in Texas. It will be a light meal for the next few days. :)
Waving to all.

What a day! I realized when I got to work that there's a full moon so, that explains some things. :D People and their money were coming out of the woodwork today.
Fortunately, DH had dinner ready when I got home -- hamburger helper stroganoff, rolls, peaches, and corn. He's a keeper.
Betsy, how exciting to have the wedding coming right up! I'm glad she is feeling well. Best wishes to them ~
Elaine, I'm sorry about all the loss you are dealing with right now. Cancer is awful, you are right about that.
Ann, lucky you to get coffee from Kenya! My favorite (right now) is Gevalia Kenyan. I've also gotten coffee from Vietnam and I really like it. DS#1 is already tasked with bringing some home for me this summer.
Lori, had to smile at the kids playing on your lawn.
Tammy, you've had a busy day too! I think dealing with all your parents' "stuff" is one of the hardest things to do.
Marlene, did the bean salad turn out like you wanted it to?
Chris, those smoked pork sliders sound good. How 'bout slide a few down this way? LOL
Nancy, ice cream and a nice long walk sounds like a good day to me.

Good evening. I apologize for not being here but it has been a very busy time. Last week was a zoo. Had Annabelle Monday and Tuesday. The most relaxing days out of the week. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I worked worked from 8:30 to noon setting up for the weekend for the Lions Club. Saturday and Sunday were spent at the garage sale for 8:30 to 3. It was worth all the work as we made close to $6,000. Wed, Thurs and Fri I came home and worked on the yard. Got the 2 raised beds in the lower yard cleaned out, amended and cultivated and greens beans planted in one. Hopefully tomorrow the other one will be planted with the green peppers. Yesterday was house day. 4 loads of laundry plus a load from the dryer folded. Moved the 2 potting tables from the upstairs to the front deck. Got to love an old shower curtain to slide 2 heavy tables down the stairs. Also stripped my be and finally added more water to it. My back had been bothering and I knew the problem. Finally had a good night's sleep for the first time in weeks. This morning I had court in regards to my accident. Not fun but is what is and expensive. Came home and chilled out for a while then started working on the kitchen garden. Got the herb section weeded and planted dill for pickles and also the butterflies. BTW I had 9 cats last fall and have released 8 black swallowtail butterflies. This past week I received 4 beautiful Bare root bleeding hearts. Got them in posts today as the beds are not ready for them.
Dinner tonight was leftover veal and peppers over egg noodles, stuffed mushrooms and fresh asparagus. I am going to make a chocolate peanut butter mug cake before I go to be which I have a feeling is going to be shortly.
I have read everyday since I have been MIA from posting but am just to tired to respond.

Better late than never today.
Spent the morning with my canning friends, making rhubarb marmalade and chutney. Added about 40 jars to our inventory so a good days work 😉 . This afternoon was my craft group and then spent time cutting grass in our little vineyard and watering all the new plants. The dust is still where it was this morning - just hope no-one notices 🙄
By the time I got in and showered, we found a bag of salad, some cooked chicken breasts and called it supper.

Didn't get back here earlier due to DH having computer work to do from home this evening. Nothing exciting happening. Made Ranch-O Bacon Chicken, a green bean recipe I got from The Chew last year, and corn. Need to empty the dryer and think I'll call it a night. Until tomorrow... Lori
