Good day, friends! It's a very cool and cloudy day here. It rained overnight. Pork chops were delectable! Maybe it was so good because it was cooked on the grill! LOL Not many plans for today. If it dries out a bit, I may venture out to the yard and pull weeds! I bought a bag of broccoli slaw on sale last week so I just made it up with some red onion and hatch pepper ranch. I shook out the bottle with some pepperoncini juice. That will go with our Greek Rib dinner tomorrow. Still mulling over the charred broccoli salad from The Chew...wasn't going to add the Israeli couscous, but I'm now leaning towards using it. I'll see what DH would like. Chris - Hope you don't mind a cloudy beach day. Looks like you'll miss most of the showers. I love a rainy beach day! Marlene - Thanks for the additional info on the flavor enhancer. I checked online...postage is 3x's the cost of an 8oz. bottle so I won't be trying it anytime soon!! I liked reading the recipes on the site. I have a bottle of Fischer & Wieser Korean BBQ (WWW.JELLY.COM) that I got after my friend Becci from Cookin' Seniors recommended the products made in Fredericksburg, TX. I got free shipping after ordering several items. So...I'm going to try THIS recipe from Cookie's. Hope everyone has a great day! Waving!

Ann Wall Lake is to north of me a ways. That is terrible so much for shipping. Shipping costs more the item you want anymore. Then they say they don't make money??
It is another hot one here today. Think I will go out for dinner as I don't feel like cooking. Did enough of that the last 2 days. Time to taste someone else's cooking. I felt like dressing in spring colors even if it is summer weather!! I have yellow, white, green Alfred Dunner top and white capris on. They said got to 100* in Omaha yesterday. One of these days we will get a big storm out of all this heat.
Going to go to Church. We have another funeral at the church Thursday so need to make a pan of bars and salad. Will make new recipe of almond bars I just got. It is so good. But I love almond. Need to decide on salad as it is a big family. He had 4 daughters and lots of other family. He done a lot for the church. He had lots of money and shared it.
Chris enjoy the ocean and all the sights. I would love someday to come there to visit. My DD would love to go with me. I also let your favorite cat sleep outside last and this morning he is worn out!! I get ready to go to bed open door to let him in and he goes opposite way, so I said enjoy your night and I went to bed. He was waiting by the door at 6:30 this morning. Now he is tired and wants to sleep!!

Good afternoon as we celebrate national grape popsicle day.
Strong winds and heavy rains woke us again this morning and continued for some time. However, now that Alberto has actually moved to the north of us the winds are calmer and we are having a break from the rain. The best is that it our skies are the brightest I've seen them in over two weeks! Exciting as it sounds, forecasters say that we are in for more rain due to the feeder bans that will be whipping around, but they say drier times should be here by maybe Wednesday.
DH is painting the ceiling today. When he took down the light fixtures and fans I got busy and washed them all down so they can go back up clean. Afterwards, since I couldn't bike outside, I hoped up on the stationary bike and peddled away for two hours. Not quite as enjoyable as the fresh air, but I was able to read while biking.
Ann, thanks for starting us today. Let me know what you think of the charred broccoli salad from The Chew. I saw that episode and thought it looked good. I've enjoyed that show over the years and will really miss it. When I was at the library yesterday I noticed that every Chew cookbook was checked out. I mentioned that as I was checking out and the librarian told me that right after it was announced that the show wasn't returning, every book flew off the shelf.
Marlene, glad you had a nice visit with your DS and DGD's yesterday. I bet you are tired today and will enjoy that much deserved dinner out today. Sounds as if Red has his days and nights mixed up again.
Tammy, glad you and Dave were able to spend some time yesterday with his DM and hopefully again today.
I have bedding in the washer that just rang so I'll go toss it into the dryer and then I'll will go make a salad to go along with the spaghetti, meatballs, and sausage we'll enjoy this evening.
Waving to all. Lori

Going asleep again to the sound of the ocean outside my sliders. We went to When Pigs Fly bakery today! Got some good bread, went to Kittery Trading Post, and to Rye Harbor Lobster Pound! Had Fluffy clam chowder! Hot lobster roll and man it all tasted so good.

Hello, better late than never, right? Once the day got going it got busy. I woke up at 4:30, and did not get back to sleep so got up at 5 and played on the computer, I went back to bed, then we both slept in. We finally got to the nursing home around 10. She slept almost the entire time. I did take the cassette player and played her some hymns, and it seemed to me that she liked it. One SIL came over also, and a life long friend came by to see her. We left at 2:00 and came to the house. We started going through closets, cabinets, etc. We spent several hours sorting through things. DH and his sisters are trying to decide whether to go ahead and get the house cleared out and on the market. Around 7 we all got hungry so headed over to Pizza Inn and went through the buffet line. It was pretty good. We stopped by Aldi's again (we went by last night and got a couple items). DH saw an electric smoker for $99.00 so decided he wanted it. I also got some sunshades for the car windshield. The first one I bought was so thin, it was almost like fabric. Granted I got it at the dollar store, so did not expect much. I bought a replacement and it was only slightly better. This one is heavy duty and I was surprised to discover that it has suction cups to hold it in place! What a wonderful idea! I went back and got 3 more to use on the vans at the center. The vans have HUGE windshield areas and all the shades slide right down. We just now got back home and so will rest up.
Chris, sounds like you are loving the vaca. Happy for you.
I may not make it back on here tomorrow. We hope to leave early, run by and see mom one last time then head south to have lunch with our dear friend in Oklahoma City-lunch will be the best chicken fried steak sandwich in the world!! Then back home to Texas.
