Chris have a wonderful week-end!! How fun that will be I am envious!!I have DS and both DGD's coming to spend the day Saturday. So I am cleaning and the cleaning lady will finish it up.
Will make a salad today and some things tonight. I am making 2 beer butt chickens with chicken stock in the cans. They love chicken. Hoping everything turns out good.
It is a warm one today. We did get .30 of rain last night w/ lots of wind. So yards are looking nice today. Which they would stay that way.
Have a wonderful Day and drive safely Dave and Tammy. Hope you get some time with Dave's mother when you get there. you are in my prayers. We had another guy from church passed away yesterday. He had pancreas cancer for 2 years and is in the same home the folks are in. He has 4 daughters and they were all in church with him Sunday. He did not look good so did not surprise me. So will help where ever I can serving the family.

From what I saw on the news, everyone is on the road headed somewhere. Summer is here in full force...101* tomorrow and for the next few days. Made my favorite macaroni salad today and will cook chicken on the grill tomorrow. Will have our flag flying to remember all who gave their lives for our great country.

Good evening friends. I was up early, but just couldn't get here until now.
We had some heavy rain and strong wind last night. The wind picked up a stick from somewhere and threw it into our lanai screening, ripping it. Today the rain started earlier in the day and fell off and on until just a short time ago. Subtropical storm Alberto is expected to bring rains this way throughout the long weekend. How much we get will depend on how close it comes to us, so although they are forecasting 6"-8", I doubt very much we'll see that (I think 2'-4" more likely).
Chris, I hope you have a great time this weekend!
Marlene, enjoy your DS and DGD's tomorrow. From the sounds of it, you're planning a yummy meal and nobody should go home hungry.
((Tammy and Dave))), hope you already had an opportunity to visit with DMIL after you arrived in OK.
Speaking of MIL's, mine has decided that she is moving into the rehab center with FIL for the next 6 weeks. When I asked her why, she simply said, "I feel like having somebody fuss and take care of me for a change." "Ok then, you do that," was all I could get out of my mouth. As I said before, it's all about her.
I went to two stores early this morning looking for dried strawberries and neither store had them. Tomorrow morning if I can get out before the rain, I'll check at Walmart by the house--if they don't have them, I know Trader Joe's has them so I'll drive to that side of town next week one day. Hope to also get over to the library when they open in the morning.
Dinner tonight was a "cold" meal--chilled tomato-dill soup and a zucchini-noodle Chinese chicken salad.
Waving to all.

Hello from Oklahoma! We made it here fine. I was hoping for lunch in Dallas-my favorite Mexican, but we got to Dallas at 9:15 a.m.! So we kept driving and stopped for lunch in Paul's Valley, Oklahoma. When we got to town we called DSIL and she said mom probably would not be coherent enough for us to visit this afternoon. s he is at her best early in the morning, then they give her meds to calm her because she gets very agitated, and after that she sleeps most of the afternoon. when she sleeps, she is nearly impossible to arouse. We will plan on going to 8 a.m.. When we got here we went by DSIL's house and visited. We came over to MIL's house and then went to meet DSIL and DBIL at an Italian restaurant for an early dinner. We are back at the house now. I brought coffee with us but forgot creamer, so will make a grocery store run in a few minutes. DH wants some chocolate milk.
Chris, have a glorious weekend! Thanks for starting us.
Waving to everyone!

I am laying on my bed with the sliders open onto the ocean! So I am going to fall asleep listening to the sound of the waves. We are right on the beach! It was 83 and still warm. I am going to leave the door open all night!
