Good morning friends.
Computer is moving faster today so I can type!
Ann, I enjoyed looking at the beach photos.
Tammy, I didn't know The Chew was going to be cancelled. I never really got into that show for some reason.
Sunny and heading up to 82* today.
Not sure what's for dinner.
Tomorrow is Spring Day at the high school so I will be off. They have all kinds of activities and several clubs prepare various food that they sell. I'm looking forward to my 4 day weekend.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

Good Morning, When I got home from cards last night DH told me he got an email from his sister about MIL. She is failing quickly. She seems to have dementia and doesn't know anyone. She talks about being in pain in her mouth but no one can really see anything wrong. She yells out often and asks for mommy /daddy. DSIL said if we want to see her we had better come quickly, as hospice says it is looking like she is near the end of her life. We plan on leaving early Friday morning and coming home Monday.
I am still going on the trip today.
I made several mini loaves of almond joy bread last night. I will drop those off at the coffee shop later this evening, so they should be set until I get back.
Enjoy your weekend Nancy and all.
Elza, glad the robber was caught. Now you can relax a little bit.

(((Tammy and Dave))) I am praying that you will make it back in time to see MIL before her passing. Hope they can give her something to ease her pain. Please be safe in your travels and know you'll be in our prayers.

I'm just waiting for my bread to finish baking and I'll be headed out to the garden for most of the morning. I already made a big batch of blueberry cream muffins - they always turn out so well, nice and light.
It's hubby's golf night so I'm going to have salmon for supper - one thing he doesn't eat.
Have a lovely day😊

Once more, hello friends.
It was a nice looking morning, but has now gotten cloudy and started to sprinkle. Currently 84*, we will see the heavier rain move in with the heating of the day. The holiday weekend appears that it will be very wet with heavy rainfall expected--we are watching the Gulf.
I am saddened that my Bolts lost game 7 last night and the Stanley Cup won't be coming back this way this year. However, I must say congrats to the Washington Capitals as I believe in good sportsmanship and I do believe the playoffs between the Capitals and Golden Knights will be exciting--I will be watching.
Nancy, thanks for starting us off. Enjoy your long weekend off from work. I am officially done with subbing until the schools reopen on August 13th.
Ann, I loved the beach pictures.
Tammy, again, sorry about your MIL.
Tasty, those blueberry muffins are so good--one of my favorites. Enjoy your salmon dinner tonight.
DH and I had made plans to go tomorrow late afternoon to the wall covering store. With the weather expected to decline, I got a call asking if we would be able to come in instead today. Since we have nothing planned, that's what we'll be doing later. It made my dinner plans easy--leftovers when we return home-chicken with veggies and/or turkey pesto meatballs with veggies.
Need to go and take care of the clothes in the dryer, empty the dishwasher, and cut up some pineapples and a watermelon. If time allows, I'd also like to bake some chocolate chocolate-chip zucchini bread.
Waving to all. Lori

Tammy so sorry to read about your DMIL. Have a safe time driving and good luck. We never know when the time will come.
Lori also so glad the Dr. got in and helped make the decision on your FIL too. That MIL thinks she can rule everyone. Now maybe she will think twice about things but...doubt it. Hope things get taken care and your DH does not have to make the trip.
I went to town and got groceries as my DGD's are coming down with their Dad Saturday. So wanted things they would eat. They love chicken so will fix 2 on the grill. They also love Broccoli so will make a salad and another fruit salad and lots of veggies raw to eat. They eat healthy and want to keep it that way. Also will do a mixed fruit cobbler for dessert. Will also have mini potatoes split and baked.
Will go now and clean broccoli and cauliflower to have ready for salad and clean strawberries too. Looks like I can sneak mowing in Friday also. Will see later.

Afternoon, friends! It's another banner day here...just right temps with sunshine. We do need rain, though so I won't complain about getting some this weekend. I turned on the front water faucet, but couldn't get to the back yard turn on in the cellar...junk in the way, ya know. (DH started to clean the cellar by moving everything to one side; then he stopped!!! LOL) I put out a bird bath for the robins around. I kept filling watering cans to move water to the back yard! Last night's turkey dinner with fixings was great. I added some of the Pilau seasoning that our Kenyan neighbor gave us to the butternut squash; it was delicious! Watched The Chew this afternoon; it was amusing! They kept alluding to the fact that they needed new jobs, and they introduced a bunch of behind-the-scenes essential workers who also need new jobs. Clinton got tipsy!!! I ran off the Charred Broccoli Salad recipe! The "Final" live Chew is June 14th. The rest are going to be previously taped episodes as I understand it. Tammy - Sorry to read about your MIL. Saying prayers for her comfort and for your safe drive there. Hugs to Dave. Did you see my questions to you on FB about tomato pie and green tomato (apple like) pie? Tasty - Did you ever cook salmon on a cedar plank on the grill? It's one of my favorite ways to cook salmon. TOH has great instructions LINK and a great recipe for salmon LINKNancy - Enjoy your 4-day weekend!!! Any plans? Marlene - Your menu for your DGD's sounds delish. Tonight we are having chowda! Enjoy the rest of the day into the evening!!! Waving!!!

Hello and thanks for the kind thoughts and the prayers. I had a nice day and a great lunch, and am doing laundry now. Will start packing soon. I baked almond joy bread last night but could not put the glaze on it because I ran out of coconut extract. I bought more today, so I will glaze the little loaves and run them over to the coffee shop.
I have the roast in the crock pot and cooked it more today.
Guess what came today? An Instant Pot. David kept searching and found one to order, again from Walmart, but this page had them in stock. I have not opened the box yet, and am sad that I won't have time to use it soon.
I plan on taking my computer so should be able to check in daily.
Marlene, enjoy your company.
Elza, enjoy your weekend away.
I hope everyone has a nice, long weekend, in spite of bad weather for some.

Tammy, I'm sorry to hear that your MIL is failing. I'm glad y'all can go and hopefully spend some time with her.
Not too busy today so I was able to get some "housekeeping" things taken care of at work. However, we expect to be quite busy tomorrow with the holiday weekend coming up. We'll leave as soon as possible after I get off work.
Dinner tonight at our regular Mexican place. I had one of my favorites -- grilled chicken breast topped with sauteed mushrooms and spinach and drizzled with cheese sauce. DH had his usual fajitas. We both brought home leftovers.
