Good morning everyone. Just starting us off on National Vanilla Pudding Day.
I'll be back later, but right now I'm headed out for a bike ride before the rain moves in.

Good morning to all~ "We" are up as usual and I could still be sleeping. Having an animal in the house is very trying some days!!
I am going back to have a finger poke today which was suppose to be yesterday. Wish they would get their ducks in a row!! Then get a hair cut and get papers and have Mickey sign them and take back to bank. I don't know if she can that will be a job. Then hoping to come home and mow the lawn. Rain is in forecast so will see where it all goes.
The casserole I made yesterday was so good. It was on a butter wrapper from Land of Lakes. I did my own version of the cream sauce as with 2 1/2 c of macaroni it did not seem to be enough liquid so added can of evaporated milk and used some flour to thicken and added little chicken broth also. Was creamy good with more shredded parmesan than called for too. Just needed a little more liquid to make it good.Don't think will get much cooking done today. I thawed 3 packages of hamburger so that is in the fridge for later to work with. Need to make some burrito's.
Hope you all have a good day.
Marlene

Good Morning! It 's a sunny day now but we have about a 30 or 40 % chance of rain later today. Then 20% the rest of the week. I am going to try and bake this morning, then I have to go see the OB-GYN at 2:00 but it is just a well woman exam.
DH got a text from Crystal late yesterday afternoon saying there was going to be a volunteer hang out that we were invited to. It will not be here at the Hangout, it will be over in a building they call the family room. She said it is too hot for the hangout. It starts at 4. Since I had no notice, I had to dig around in the pantry and fridge to see what I could come up with. I have 2 bags of unopened chips from Friday, and I have the making for some cheese dip. I will put that in the crock pot before I go to the doctor since I am not sure I will be home by 4.
DH went to re order the Instant Pot and guess what? They are out of stock! Just my luck. He checked lots of other places but their prices are so much higher. He placed a flag on it so we will get a notice when they are back in stock.
I thawed a roast and must cook it today, so that will be supper. We may not be really hungry if there are lots of good snacks at the party though!

Got the blood work done was 2.5 so good, then to hair cut. Then pick up papers for Mom to sign and took them back to bank. Came home and mowed and Marge came out and got my older weed eater. Then finished mowing and now supper time. Just left over little casserole with small corn tortilla's that just has burrito meat in between.
Had to raise the mower so will hit the main yard tomorrow again and lower it one notch if it don't rain. We missed a big thunder storm that went over us and east. Thank goodness.

Just got home from the party. Neither of us are hungry and the roast is still tough, so I will chill it and have it Thursday probably. I will go for blood work first thing tomorrow and then I may bake something and run by the coffee shop. I will come up with something for supper tomorrow. Thursday there is an outing to the north part of Houston. They are going to Petco and to a large grocery store then out to eat at a wonderful cafeteria. We don't get home until 3 so I could save the roast and reheat it on that day.
It went well at the gyn appointment. She will have results next week but all looks well as far as she could tell. I am going to call and get a bone density test since I have never had one. Does anyone know what that involves?
Marlene, DH will be mowing tomorrow also. The big mower has been in the shop and just came back today.
Have a nice evening and I hope everyone sleeps well.

Tammy- When I had my last bone density test I just stuck my foot into this boot like think and they pushed a button and that was it.

Good evening. It has been a dreary day here. Low overnight was 53 and it made it all the way to 59 for the high. It has rained off and on all day. This morning I finally caught up on reading what has been going on for 3 day. Computer has been giving me problems and even HP has no idea why. I finished restoring it yesterday and all is fine at the moment. Today I had a lot of food to get packaged and in the freezer so that was about my day.
Tammy I have had several bone density tests. I think it takes about 15 minutes. You don't feel anything but it has been a couple of years and don't remember exactly what they do. I am do for one this year.
Marlene, glad you are getting some of the paper work done for your DMIL. It must be time consuming and difficult.
Chris, enjoy your weekend in Wells. Hope weather is good.
Dinner tonight was stuffed mushrooms and beef stroganoff over home made noodles.
Time for bed.

It's taken me all day to get back here, but I finally have a few minutes.
After my bike ride I showered and then went over to the eye doctor office re: my sunglass frames that exploded twice. Several weeks ago they put the lens into the same frame, different color. I was told if I didn't like the frame color that they would comp. me new lens and let me pick out another frame. That's what I did today, however, they are letting me keep the current frame and lens for all the inconvenience I've gone through. Will be nice to have a back-up frame if ever needed or if I just feel like a change one day.
When I came home I planned to make some chocolate zucchini bread, but I had no chocolate powder. Instead I made four mini loaves of marble banana bread. DH will try one out tomorrow with his work lunch.
Finally got the proposal for the new window treatments, but they left off one of the windows. Will go late Friday afternoon back to the store and hopefully make a final decision.
Looks like a very wet weekend coming up with the invest out there. Once the low develops and we see if it is headed to New Orleans area or to Florida then we'll have a better idea of how much rain we will see. This will not be a wind maker just rain and if we are on the east side of it, as they believe we will be, forecasters are saying 4--6 inches of rain between Saturday and next Monday. The ground is saturated already and many rivers are at the flood stage, so it could be a real mess. Currently 74*, more rain is expected tonight.
The Bolts will now be playing the final game of their division playoff against the Washington DC Capitals tomorrow night after a loss last night. DH and I will be sitting right in front of the tv wearing our Bolts blue for game 7. Sure hoping and praying for a win tomorrow and then to bring Lord Stanley back to Tampa.
Dinner tonight was a chicken dinner in a foil package.
Take care everyone--waving to all.

Tammy, I have a bone density test every couple years and it is kind of like a CT scan but smaller. I lie on a platform and the scan thing moves over me. Check with your doctor, but I have to remember not to take any calcium the day of the test. The first one I had, they didn't tell me that, so I had to reschedule it.
It's been a nice day today, except that we apparently have a serial bank robber here in town. Three banks have been robbed in two days, so we are a little antsy. I really hope the police catch this guy, and soon. Also a rash of counterfeit bills cropping up. It's always something.
DH fixed bacon and eggs for tonight's dinner. Good stuff.

Hi Tammy. There is nothing to the bone density test. The technician will have you lie on a bed/table (don't wear an underwire bra) and slowly the 'arm' of the machine will move over your body, maybe a foot or so above, but it never touches you. That's pretty much it!
It's been another hectic day here as hubby was working on the floor at the curling club and I was providing lunch for a dozen guys there. Then onto my craft group.
Once I got home I started a big pot of soup which we had for supper and it will go to the curling club tomorrow along with the butter tarts and french bread that I have in the oven right now. The soup has turned out really well. Same basic ingredients in this soup every time I make it but sometimes just turns out better than others 🙄

Tammy, I just saw your request if anyone knew what is involved with a bone density test. I have had 6 done since turning 50, the last being just in February. My gyn does them every 2 years on me right in her office. Painless. My doctor doesn't have anything fancy, like the boot thing that Chris mentioned. I just lie on the table, clothes on, and this scanner just moves slowly over my legs, hips, and spine. Takes about 30 minutes and I got the results 10 minutes later. They are looking to see if you have osteoporosis or osteopenia. Being this is your 1st one, it will give them a base-line that they'll use in the future. Your doctor should have given you a list of meds that you might be taking that you need to stop and/or what you should not wear (pants/slacks with any metal snaps on them). Good luck.
