I'm up watching the Royal Wedding. Just beautiful. Lots of coffee has already been consumed.

What better way to spend a lazy, gloomy, rainy Saturday morning than to watch the WEDDING. I am, of course, heartbroken that my invitation must have been lost in the mail. Just as well--Walmart didn't have any "fascinators" the last time I looked so I wouldn't have had the proper clothes to wear, anyway.
I have to say that this wedding was all I expected and yet not what I expected. What a wonderful, non-traditional message from Bishop Curry. And the eye contact and obvious affection between the couple. And I bet that there will be many couples planning weddings who will be including "Stand by Me" in their music. And the children were adorable and cute--love the little guy with missing teeth who photo-bombed the bride over her shoulder as she stood in the door ready to enter the chapel. I loved her dress--no frou-frou but elegant and timeless. Way to go, girl!
Watching Katy Tur and Stephanie Ruhl, supposedly seasoned professionals, getting all teenaged-girl crazy calling to Megan and then jumping-up-and-down excited when the bride waved their direction from the carriage as it passed by--priceless! Why are we so caught up in this? Hmmmm. Perhaps it's because we need something happy in the news for a change. Whatever . . . I've had a ripping good time this morning. And I probably saw much more of the whole thing than if I had been there in person.
I'm trying to decide what to take out of the freezer to cook for supper tonight. It is much cooler than yesterday and raining steadily, although not heavily. I may play with my Instant Pot again.
Have a good Saturday.

I have not had the tv on yet this morning. Been busy in the house doing things and now doing washing. I have some dishes to take back to the owners so will do that after the wash is done. I am going to make a beer butt chicken for Chuck think will use something else in the can to hold it as have only bottle beer for the guys. Maybe some wine, have bottle I opened to see if opener worked and it tastes like champagne which I don't care for.
We were to get rain here last night, nothing and nothing yet?? It probably will miss us after I mowed yesterday depending on their forecast!!
I am sure the wedding was pretty but sure it will be on every station later too. Sometimes I feel like an old stick in the mud!!
Hope everyone has a good day. Have not heard how my DGD did at state yet. They had the state meet at Omaha, NE.

Happy Saturday everyone!
We all slept in after watching a movie until 12:30 a.m. - the Barbie version of "The Princess and the Pauper". Then we took the kids out to breakfast. We tried a new restaurant in town. The Huddle House. I have seen them but never eaten at one. We thought it was great. This town is desperate for more sit down places.
No lunch planned but we will have an early supper of cheeseburgers-DH will cook them on the grill. The kids also want macaroni and cheese.
I think we will be taking the dogs to the dog park this afternoon, but not sure what else we may do. Dad will come by between 5 and 6 to pick them up.
I did not watch any of the wedding but when we got home and I turned on the tv, I saw a still photo, so I did get to see her dress. It was very elegant.
Chris, I hope you get some computer time.
Have a super weekend!

Good late afternoon to one and all.
Elza, like you, I was up early to watch the wedding--beautiful! I got up at 4 and was glued to the telly until it the event was over.
Birdy, your description of the wedding, bride, her dress, etc. sums it up just perfect. It appears that your invite to this wedding wasn't the only one lost in the mail--LOL. As much as I'd love to been then, I do believe I had a great seat here and that was so much better then having to fight the crowds trying to catch a look at the happy couple.
Once the wedding was over, DH and I went back to the window treatment store. Today we had the owner who worked with us and she knows her stuff. She was sorry of our bad experience with the lady earlier this week and couldn't thank us enough for coming back and letting her do it right for us. We are waiting on some new quotes and then we'll see what we'll do next.
Like the past few days, MIL has been on the phone several times already today and it's been an all out battle. DH and and his sister in Tucson are just about ready to go back to Michigan, but they are holding back, at least for a few more days, hoping it will force the sister who lives up there to get off her bottom and help (she's the type that wants the job/title, but not willing to do the work). The current rehab center said FIL has to be out in 10 days since the doctor is saying he has to be off his feet another 8 weeks before they can put any pressure on them and start the actual rehab. He came in as short term and the center said they don't have the space for long term. MIL is confused and over whelmed by everything happening and can't seem to get the info. straight, so if her DD up there doesn't step up to the plate in the next few days, I told DH to go. They gave her a list of 8 places to look at--she was suppose to check several out today, but after looking at just one, she decided having lunch out with her sister was going to be more fun. DH was fuming at his DM and DS. I'm so tired of it all and have ended up with a major headache each evening. Time will tell what will be happening--if we go north, fine, but I've already told DH I will stay at my DB's home, not with his mother. He smiled and said he'd love to join me, but knows there would be BIG problems if he didn't stay with his DM. Sorry to vent once again.
Getting ready to watch the horse racing and then later this evening my Bolts will be playing another game, tonight back in Tampa.
Time to go make dinner--Lemon Chicken over Mushroom Rice and pot stickers.
Waving to everyone. Have a good evening friends. Oh ya, it's World Baking Day and National Devil's Food Cake Day.

Afternoon, friends! It was supposed to be a very rainy day here today, but it was sunny and wonderful until around 3pm. Now we are getting light but steady rain. Our neighbor dropped in a few minutes ago and delivered a share of his Kenyan care package...Kenyan tea and coffee and a bottle of Pilau Masala seasoning. I'm excited to try the Pilau...it a combo of cumin seeds, black pepper, cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves. He said they use it in traditional Pilau (which I have to look up), chicken biryani, coconut rice, and other rice dishes. I did watch the wedding for a little while but then switched to cable news. It was such a lovely ceremony...simple but elegant. Having my recipe for Light & Lemony Scampi for dinner tonight. Made seafood chowder this morning...a huge container and will portion it out tomorrow. Have a great evening everyone!!! Waving!

Ann--I meant to tell you that I was able to find a can of Lobster Juice at Hannaford's. I didn't know that there was such a thing. So, when the weather gets hot I plan to poach my frozen haddock in it to make faux lobster rolls. Somehow, that sounds like a hot-weather supper to me. Is your seafood chowder with a creamy base or otherwise? I have been buying a canned chowder-like soup from Hannaford's called Zuppa which they call a Mediterranean-style clam soup which is made in Maine and claims to be a traditional recipe. I'm familiar with zuppa from my Italian friends but that's just a general name for soup. This is clam and tomato based with a bit of spicy zing to it. It's pretty good.
I didn't feel like cooking anything too challenging tonight after putzing around the house doing odds and ends all day. A couple of weeks ago, I brought home leftover Utica greens from the catered lunch at our Braille group and froze them in individual servings. Tonight, I had some pizza dough in the refrigerator from a really good bakery in town that was getting close to the end of its shelf life. The Italian bakery uses its reserved dough as a starter so I figured I could get away with something that had been standing for a week in the fridge as long as it smelled yeasty and not sour. Well, I made a calzone with the greens, added a little extra cheese inside, and it was wonderful. I figure my supper cost about $.35. Can't beat that! LOL!
I hope this weather doesn't find you folks to the east of me. It has rained without a break since early this morning and we never got above 55. In fact, my furnace kicked in about noon--and my thermostat is set at 64. The rain makes it feel colder. By next week, we'll be warmer again but for now it's not all that nice.

I'm another who watchedtbe wedding this morning. I have seen all of them since Princess Margaret got married back in 1960. Wasn't going to change now especially as this is likely the last one in my lifetime, not that I'm that old, but Prince George is only 5!!!!
It was enjoyable, thought her dress was lovely - very simple. Certainly wish them all the best.
Laundry, housework and grocery shopping took up the rest of the day. The weather wasn't fit to work outside, maybe tomorrow.
Supper was pork chops, roast potatoes and asparagus.
