((( Nancy))) - not something anyone wants to experience!
Likewise, Lori. Hope you got a good night's sleep. Your MIL really is something else! Hope today is a better day for you. You too, Chris! You'll need a couple of HC I'm sure.
A cool start, mid 40s but a pretty day nonetheless. Golfing for us today. No idea about supper yet altho there is some turkey left in the fridge that should be used.
Have a great day.

Good morning friends.
Elza, Ugh I hope you will get to move your book club to a quieter place. Even though 1 person in the club is the owner of the Ale House, maybe suggest you take turns at different places.
Tammy, What did you end up ordering at the Catfish restaurant.
Marlene, So much going on for you. Take some time out for a nice pedicure or a massage.
Chris, Hope today will be a good one for you.
Tasty, Enjoy your day golfing.
Lori, It's too bad we can't take your MIL and Betsy's and put the 2 on an island together! In fact it would be even better if it were an island of people trying to quit smoking and there were NO cigarettes available so the 2 could deal with the others lol.
Thank you for your kind words. I didn't see anything in the paper today about yesterdays incident. I was able to forget for a while as oldest DD was inducted in the French Honors Society last night. It was a nice ceremony.
Tonight youngest DD is sleeping over at her school. They do this every 4 years for grades 3-6. There's a bunch of activities going on throughout 12am. Pick up is 7:30 sharp. DD is very excited.
I think I'll just make burgers and dogs for tonight.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

Thanks for getting things started, Tasty. Turkey is one of my favorite leftovers. I like to mix it with cream of mushroom soup and milk and some peas to make creamed turkey, served over toast. Comfort food!
Nancy, I'm glad you had a good evening to make up for such a stressful afternoon. I do plan to give some feedback on the book club location. My coworker who went with me said, "I could see people's lips moving but I couldn't hear what they were saying!" Which kind of defeats the purpose of a discussion!
Chris, hope you have a better day today. (((hugs))) to you too -- and HC! LOL
Hoping for a busy, but not crazy, day that goes by quickly! I'm ready for the weekend.
Is anybody else planning to watch the Royal Wedding on Saturday morning? I've watched them all, so am not going to break my streak now, but I'm thinking maybe get up around 6:30 for the ceremony at 7. I'll have a big pot of coffee ready to go!

Thank you Tasty for starting us off this morning. I just took a whole chicken out of the freezer will make a beer can chicken on the grill for Chuck's tomorrow. He came and cleaned out my lawn mower last night. That is a terrible job!! So he needs to rewarded for a good meal! They have their 2 grandsons on Sat. usually and Noah still has to be careful what he eats.
Will clean on the house today. Debating if I should run over the lawn as the forecast is rain tonight and next 2 days and I would have a mess again. One of the church guys are going to spray dandelions for me too and don't know when?
I keep telling myself don't get yourself all upset over things I have no control over, easier said than done! I will let Kate my lawyer handle it all and will go with her advice. I knew it would be coming some day and its here. I have my farm and having 2 more will need to do something to ease the problems. All these taxes I would have to pay I am not liking that so trying to get out of some of these. If I have the house and buildings taken off one then they would both be bare land and that would like better. No renters to worry about.
Better get in gear here I just cut up a nice cantaloupe so will have a bite for breakfast and get to cleaning.

Good Morning ! Good to hear from everyone.
Nancy, I did get the chicken fried steak. It was ok, not the best that I have ever had. I ate half of it and brought the rest home, I think DH will use it to make a sandwich for his lunch today.
I saw they are having lasagna at the center so I will eat a plate of that most likely. We have our choice of getting a free lunch or getting a $5.00 gift certificate. I will work until 2, and at some point DH will drop his older girls off with me. I plan on taking them to get an ice cream cone, then going by the grocery store. Jack, Sue, Ruth and George are all coming over tonight to roast hot dogs. I will also have some chips and then we will make smores.
Need to go and get myself ready.
(I'd love to see the 2 witchy MIL's on that island!)

Morning, friends! It getting warmer by the hour, but the clouds are building up for the rain we will be getting tomorrow. We went to Aldi on the way home from the senior center and got a fresh pizza for supper tonight. I'm going to make a salad as a side. We'll only eat half of the pizza so it's on the menu for Sunday night, too. Nancy - Congratulations to your older DD! You must be so proud of her! Is she planning on continuing her French education? Hope your other DD has a really fun time at the sleep over. That was an unfortunate event you had to witness. Hope the girl is going to be OK. Tasty - Thanks for opening! We must have been typing at the same time. I bought a half turkey breast to cook next week! Will cheat and buy some gravy at the turkey farm!! I have stuffing and harvest casserole in the freezer; will be glad to have it gone!!! Have a good golf game! Birdy - I like weeds! I talked myself into that...! Ha! Marlene - Whew! I'm glad you have a lawyer to help you with all of that inheritance stuff! It sure can be daunting! Elza - Interesting place to have a book club meeting! I've never participated in one, but I picture it as being in someone's cozy living room with a coffee table full of treats and such!!! Lori - Hope you got some sleep after another bout from the wicked MIL. Stay strong!!! Betsy - What award did you DD get? Tammy - Enjoy your lasagna. I made some Beef and Ricotta meatballs yesterday...yummy! The basic recipe was in the Boston Globe's food section on Wednesday. The meatballs have no bread or breadcrumbs...just eggs, herbs, ricotta, and Romano. They poach in the sauce and come out so light and fluffy. I started making seafood chowder. Made the stock today and will finish it tomorrow. I like to let it sit in the fridge to blend the flavors so we will have it on Monday. Hope everyone has a great res of Friday!

I just got home from the resale shop. The tv was on and I am watching the reports about a school shooting in Santa Fe, TX. That is about 20 miles from where we used to live and about 10 miles from Ray and Rhonda's house. Their 2 girls went to that high school. I can hardly believe it! They are treating patients at Clear Lake Regional hospital which is about 1 mile from where I just had lunch Tuesday. Wow. It never seems like something can tragic can happen in your neighborhood....unfortunately it does happen.
I am off to the store. DS called and said he can't get away from work early so the girls won't be here until about 5:30. I will go ahead and go to the store. Also I found out the girls are staying the night! That was news to me. It is fine, we had nothing planned for tomorrow. We will probably take them out for lunch or maybe breakfast.
I'll check in later.

Hello friends.
MIL is still at--what else is new.
It was water day at the school I was subbing at today. After standing in the hot and humid air all afternoon, I wasn't in the mood to cook--Chick-Fil-A salad and bowl of soup was our dinner. DH and I will have a small bowl of popcorn for a snack.
