Good morning friends.
We've been having computer issues so every time I come on here it moves real slow or something else happens.
Marlene, Sorry to read about Gaylord's passing.
Had a nice Mother's Day. We ate at a steak house on Saturday night. I finally got a seating set for the front porch. Two nice wicker chairs and a table. The swing has been moved to the back yard.
Rain is in the forecast here through Sunday.
I need to get caught up with everyone.
I took out a small tray of baked ziti I had in the freezer so we'll have that tonight with meatballs and sausage.
Betsy, When does your DD graduate?
Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning.
Nice day here. Sunny and 68.
Nancy, glad to see you back. I was missing you. DD graduates high school 6/4 and youngest dd graduates middle school 6/6.
Youngest dd is getting an award at her 8th grade award ceremony tonight. Since parking is bad at her school we will have my dd drop us and pick us up. She has to study for her Euro Ap exam tomorrow. She has Stats ap exam today. She thinks she did well on the two exams she had yesterday. One was Ap Lang and the other was AP macro ec. Yuck. LOL
DD says she has no idea what her award is for today. I have a hair appt this afternoon for highlights and cut.
I guess we will pick up dinner since we will be out.
Have a great day.
Betsy

Good to see you Nancy. New porch furniture sounds nice. Hope you can use it to relax!!
Congrats to both daughters, Betsy - a family to be proud of for sure.
Bet, I don't know how you fit everything in that you do.
So far I've spent most of the morning in the garden finished weeding one smaller flower bed and it is now mulched too so hopefully it will be good for a few weeks :) Back out soon to do some more weeding in the veggie garden so that we can plant this w/e - it is the traditional planting w/e in this part of Ontario. Then I'll have to leave that and come in to shower before going for an eye appointment this afternoon.
Hubby will be golfing this evening so it will be me on my own for supper tonight - probably salmon as hubby doesn't eat it and I really like it!! No, Chris - no guilt at all last night as I left hubby to fend for himself :D Have a wonderful day.

Tasty--you must have some protection from the lake. We don't usually consider it safe to plant until the last weekend in May. I have a feeling lots of people are jumping the gun considering the warm weather we've been having. Hope they don't get surprised. We've had frost right up into the first week of June.
I've been weeding today but am feeling a little overwhelmed. It seems that the rain we had caused all the weeds to explode! Why can't my flowers grow as well as my dandelions?

Hello again,
Betsy, Congrats to both of your DDs! Our AP testing at the high school ended today. Curious to know what her award is for but I bet is something really nice.
Tasty, Enjoy your salmon.
Birdy, We have a weed problem too. Youngest DD and I just quickly grabbed some off the lawn to make it look a little better.
I saw something disturbing after I left work today. I was going to stop at a store so I parked in a 15 minute parking spot. On the other side of the street there is no parking but there was a car parked there with their hazards on and a woman standing outside of her vehicle. On the sidewalk there was a woman laying on the ground curled up in a ball. I thought "did this woman get hit by a car". Next there was a cop there. Then I heard some guy screaming SHANNON, OH MY GOD SHANNON. Then a woman was screaming THAT'S MY DAUGHTER, THAT'S MY DAUGHTER. The cop told them to stay back. I found out later from a woman in the store that the woman on the ground texted her family to tell them goodbye and then jumped from the parking garage onto the sidewalk. No clue as to how this woman knew this. I was blocked in for a bit by cop cars, detective cars, fire trucks and 2 ambulances. I didn't care I just wanted them to tend to this poor girl on the ground. Her family must've been close by when she texted them because her father was there, her mother, sister and brother. So heart breaking and I'm still trying to process all of this. Sorry to post something like this but I'm still shaking over it.
I need to find something to do to unwind.
Nancy :'(

Nancy, goodness, I am so sorry that you were so close to that tragedy. That would certainly shake anyone up. I hope you are able to relax and get your mind on something else. Welcome back to the fold!
Betsy, congratulations to your DD on her award.
I just got home from playing bunco. I did not win, but did not get the loser award either, it was still fun.
As I mentioned yesterday we are going out to a catfish restaurant tonight with a group from Care. We leave at 4:30. I'm still thinking over what I might order. They do have chicken fried steak and that sure sounds good.
Waving to all, and hugs to those who need one!

Made appt. with lawyer now I have all this going through my head. I am sure she will take care of me. Lots to take in. I think would be better if they did not have land. It goes to me with Mom getting money off it to provide for her keeping. Kate is going to do some work on it for me. Stopped at the bank and got the joint account folks had to Mom so that is done. Was going to pay bill at Pauley's but came home they can wait a bit.
Had a guy here that took down my Lilac bushes and another bush and also some mulberry trees that grow where ever they want!! Looks nice to rid of that. Now have to spray the one bush with Roundup so it will be gone. I have lots of trees that need worked on maybe a bull dozer.
Need to get out and pull my rhubarb. Wanted to do that when kids were here but no time.
Nancy I am sure that upset you seeing that girl laying there. I sure would not want to see that. Too hard to forget.
Better see what will be for supper here.

A quick hello.
Lots of drama with MIL this evening--no need to say anything more except that I have a major headache from it all and I'm heading to bed.
Will talk to you hopefully tomorrow.

(((hugs))) to Nancy, Marlene, and Lori especially today. I wanted to let y'all know about my book club experience last night. I really enjoyed the discussion, but the location was not the best. I knew it was in an "Ale House" but I was thinking there was a meeting room or some kind of separate space off the bar area. No, about 15 of us were gathered in a seating area right next to the bar. So that made it noisy. Also, the rest of the very large, industrial kind of room was full of huge barrels and kegs and equipment because that is where they brew the ale! So it was somewhat dark and pretty loud -- not the best place to have a meeting. What I could hear was good, but I just wish I could have heard everybody. I'd like to think they might move it, but one of the leaders is also owner of the Ale House so I don't think that's going to happen. Haven't decided yet if I will try to go back next month. Tonight I got off early, got my hair cut, and then we went to Abbeville to meet my sister, DBIL and another DBIL who is in town for a few days, at the Village Grill for dinner. As always, we had to get dessert! After my dinner of rotisserie chicken, baked potato, and succotash, I had a slice of their famous coconut cake. It was so rich and good. I ate about half of both the chicken and the cake, and the rest will go in my lunch tomorrow! Already looking forward to that.
