Getting things started on a very wet, rainy morning here -- looks like rain is predicted for all day and through the weekend.
I'm looking forward to a new experience tonight -- going to a book club. Our local library has a number of different book clubs and one of them meets monthly at a local brewery. My manager invited me to go with her, and since I was already interested in the book for this month, I am going to give it a try. I love reading, and I love talking about reading, but somehow I've never been to a book club! Anyway, I already have choir practice after work from 5:30 to 6:30, and hopefully DH & I will have time for a quick meal after that, before the club meets at 7:30. It will be a long day but I'm interested enough to give it a try. The book we're discussing is Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. When my manager first asked me about it, I had just bought it for my Kindle because I'd heard so much about it recently, and it was indeed a very good read. So, I may not get back on here tonight but I'll let you know tomorrow how it went!
Marlene, thinking of you today. I hope everything went well yesterday. I know there is still a lot to do and that you are going to be busy, but I hope you take the time to get some rest too.

Good morning. 40 overnight and looks to be a beautiful day. Will be spending it outside. Will start in the greenhouses until it dries up a little bit from the rain yesterday.
Yesterday I did manage to at least get the house straightened up but still need to vacuum. Also got more paper work done that is never ending.
Have a great day.

My Texas kids left so hope they will get home early in evening without any troubles. Hated to see them go. They were so helpful to me. I made them waffles this morning before they left. We even took back the clothes I bought for MIL last night. They wanted to take home some Runzsa's so we went to Council Bluffs to get them. I packed a cooler for them to take home. Gave them some ribeyes and pork chops and bnls. pork chops also. My other DD & DSIL left to go back home yesterday after the funeral. They came Monday night for supper. My DS came yesterday and went home around 4:00 yesterday. He promised he would be back the 26th w/ the girls they had a clean calendar that day so he said they needed to go see Grandma. The funeral was done very nicely and lots of food. Mark done a wonderful job cooking everything. Had lots of good comments. It was trying at times w/MIL but we got through the day. Her clothes looked very nice on her. I got so many compliments on how I take care of her and I said I do what God put me here for taking care of people.
I have lots of cake and bars they sent a tray home with me and will share with Mark today. I need to go down and pay him this morning. Need to stop at church and take tray back to church and brought home bouquet of flowers but will take back to church so it is there for Sunday as left one up there and will take another one up there. My DD thought I needed it but don't think I do!!
Everyone take care and I will get busy on my housework putting back in order. Thanks to all of you for the prayers and thinking of us all. You all are the best friends anyone could have!!

Hello all.
Elza, thank you for starting us. Sounds like you have a great night ahead and I hope you enjoy it.
I miss Nancy. Hope all is well with her. I know it's a busy time.
DD has 2 AP exams today and of course she came home from school yesterday. Probably too much prom fun. LOL.
I may run a few errands this morning. Then home to work.
Just make pancakes for dd as she won't have time for lunch due to back to back exams.
Have a good day.
Betsy

Hello there friends. Just stopped home long enough to use the bathroom and pick up my bags before I head over to pick up items at Sprouts and then Lucky's.
Dinner---if it doesn't rain before I get back from the stores, I think it's going to be grilled fish and french fries. If the rain beats me, it will probably be breakfast for dinner.
Waving to all. Lori

Hi ! I am hoping this is the end of the very busy days. I dropped the dog off at the groomer, getting caught up in a traffic jam at my exit-the state was doing road work. I finished up laundry, made DH lunch, later on I ran errands and filled up the car. Gas seems to be going up a couple of cents every day!
While I was out I got the call that the dog was ready so headed back there. The road work was over by that time.
I just got dinner in the oven. We are having country fried baked steak, sour cream and chive potatoes, and some canned carrots. We have a handful of cherry tomatoes ready so I may pop those in the oven. It's a recipe I saw in the Magnolia Journal magazine. They were called blistered tomatoes.
No cooking for me tomorrow. I signed us up to go with a group to the Catfish King restaurant. They are mostly seafood but have other non fish items also.
I will be going over tonight to play cards, that is always fun for me. I even won a couple of games which is unusual for me.
The weatherman talked about us breaking records for high heat al this week. Ugg!
Waving to everyone! Have a good evening. Thinking of you Marlene.

No rain as of yet, so I'm firing up the grill and going to make "charred" hotdogs--my favorite way to eat them.

Had a busy day and am about ready for bed. I got all the plants onto the back deck. That included the last to boxes I had made up earlier along with 4 baskets of New Guinea Imp and 2 baskets of petunias and made up 2 pots of geraniums and 2 of MW geraniums that are also on the back deck. Got the pond cleaned out and running and the water pump fountain area cleaned up and the fountain running. Late afternoon had to run errands in town.
For dinner I had a homemade TV dinner from the freezer. Chicken and gravy, dressing, mashed potatoes and diced carrots with dill butter.
I have an eye Dr. appointment to get my new glasses so will be gone most of the day. Have a great evening. Bet
