I had a very good time with son and his "brood" LOL We cooked out on the fire pit. Chicken and I made a strawberry rhubarb pie! Came out really good.
DH has completed his first week of his new job and seems to be doing good. It is less money than the school but less stress and not that boss he had.
Hope you all have a very Hot chocolate type of day!
Chris (Maybe a frozen HC) LOL But only 45 here this morning so will be and Hot HC for me!

Glad you had a good day, Chris! And very glad that your DH has less stress at work to deal with. This will be a frozen HC kind of day for me -- supposed to be in the 90s by this afternoon.
No big dinner plans, just finishing up leftovers from the weekend.

Good morning. 43 overnight and to be cloudy most of the day but in the high 70's. I got quite a bit done yesterday. I hauled all the trays of geranium cutting out of the greenhouse as they were cramped and not getting good air circulation since they have gotten so big. Fixed up some of the pots that I had over wintered. Some had lost at least one geranium in them. Made up a couple of new ones also. Hung 2 baskets on the front deck, got 4 of the six hung on the side porch and one box set up on the back deck. I did work some on the back bed but quite when the sun went off it. It was a nice sunny day but a very cool north wind. Also finished cleaning up the south side of the back deck. DGD only showed up to borrow tools yesterday. She was working on her own yard and I do understand that. She promised to be here one day this week. She and I can get a lot done as we both work fast.
Chris, glad you had a nice day yesterday and that Dan is enjoying his new job. I am afraid we are going to see these cool mornings for a while.
Elza, I will take my cool mornings any day rather than you 90's. I very rarely see it that warm even in the summer and maybe for just 1 or 2 days.
Have a great day.

Good Morning ! Betsy, glad DD enjoyed prom. It will be a wonderful memory all of her life.
Chris, enjoy all the hot or cold HC's today. Glad Dan's new job is going well.
Marlene, thinking of you this week.((Marlene))
Bet, I would be happy to give you many of our 90* days. In the height of summer we get closer to 100-that's too hot!
Supper tonight will be sloppy joes since I have a bit of leftover ground beef , I'll just need to get some tomato soup. I already have buns also.
I did not get any cookies baked yesterday. A friend from our former church is camping out at the lake with his DD and her family. He came to church yesterday morning and stayed for lunch. He invited us to come over and see the family. We came home and changed clothes, loaded up the dogs and went over to the ,lake. We had a great visit. Ashley was in the youth group when DH was sponsor. She was a sweet girl. She is now married with 3 small children. She has a degree in nursing. We went by and visited them several years back when her DH was stationed in Virginia Beach. Her brother is Justin, who is married to Hannah, and they are the young couple who now own the Chick Fil A, but who had traveled the US the past 2 years, and we met up with a couple of times. We toured Philadelphia with them in 2016. They are all a real neat family. Glad to see them. Anyway, after the visit we dropped off the dogs and went out to the truck stop on the highway (the catfish restaurant was closed). DH got the 1/2 fried chicken and I got the cheeseburger. I was tired when we finally got home so did not bake.
I have my rescheduled dr appt at 1:30. I'm also hoping to get some laundry done. That will be my day!

A chilly start to the day here with cloudy skies. Then suddenly the fog rolled in and wecould hardly see across the street. That slowly cleared and now thesun has decided to show up to the party.
I have a pot of chilli simmering on the stove right now so that I can take it to the curling club for the guys working on the new floor tomorrow. Still need to come up with a dessert of some kind.
We have lots of turkey breast left from yesterday so will use that for supper tonight but not sure what I'll do with it yet.
Waving to all as I head out to do some gardening 🙄

Betsy, so glad DD had a great prom. I am sure she will do well on her tests this week. Also congrat to younger daughter for receiving an award. It will be interesting to learn what it is.
Tammy, sounds like you had a full Mother's Day of fun. I think after all that I would have skipped making cookies last night.
Tasty, it was a bit chilly here this morning and overcast but the sun has come out to play and it is up to 67.
Annabelle has had your breakfast and now is down for a nap, I hope. She is watching Disney Junior but an sure that won't last long before she is asleep as she asked to go to bed. Her lunch is almost done cooking so as soon as the green beans are done and she is asleep I am headed outside to work on the back bed. Some asked the other day how she was doing. She is a real character. Think she learns some of her stunts from her older sister but has a few of her own also. I spend a lot of time in tears from laughing.

Afternoon, friends! It's turning into a nice day after a cloudy and cool start. I can feel the humidity getting a bit higher, and tomorrow is supposed to be very humid. After going to the senior center today, we headed to Bed & Bath. In yesterday's paper there was a $10 coupon off $30. In the circular there was a sale on the 30 piece set of Rubbermaid stain shield containers. Ours have been wearing out (after 3 years) so I needed to replace them. I also got a wide mouth Pour & Measure Cap and some plastic coated French clothespins. Lots of leftovers are in the fridge...tonight we are having the Jacques Pepin veggie & turkey sausage pasta and a side salad. Tasty- You mentioned that you had lots of turkey left. I just found a recipe for "Quick Turkey Scaloppini" that you could maybe adapt (use the sauce) with some of the turkey. I think the sour cream and mustard with the rosemary and thyme added along with the wine would make a delicious sauce. LinkBirdy - Good luck with cooking the turkey breast in the IP. I have the Miss Vicki's stove top cookbook, and there are instructions for cooking a whole breast. You have me interested in trying it! Doris - Sounds as if your DGS made your MD lovingly wonderful! Our city's public school system has been controlled by the state for almost 5 years. The city will slowly take it over again in July. Scores have improved drastically and the drop out rate has also declined. Chris - Sounds your MD was great with some delicious food. DH just took down the birdfeeder so he will be setting up the grill on the kitchen patio soon. My favorite on the grill...double thick porterhouse pork chops..! Bet - Your yard with all of the flowers sounds so pretty. Betsy - Congrats to your DD! Tammy - Glad you had a good time with friends yesterday! Good luck at doctors today! Enjoy the rest of the day, everyone! Waving!

Came home had to go to funeral home with belt and DD got a pedicure and I found a jacket and shell for Mom. So will take back all the clothes that I bought at JCP. She needs a jacket to stay warm. So we had a DQ $5 dinners went took jacket and top to Mom again. We also took food to Church for lunch and set up table of pictures of FIL not a lot, very few. So now I am doing the laundry. The hamper was full again.
I am going to make a hash brown casserole and meatloaf for supper. Youngest DD and DSIL will be here around 6:30-7:00. So want to have supper for them. Will set out some buns to raise too. These days are busy here and it keeps raining and I can't keep up with mowing.

A quick hello friends. Sorry I can't chat tonight, but wanted to stop by for just a few minutes and let you all know I'm thinking of you.
(((Marlene))), keeping you and your family in my prayers.
The rain has been falling since mid-afternoon yesterday--the grass has really shot up and is looking lush and green. It is suppose to be a rainy week with a tropical low off in the gulf. I doubt it will develop into anything since the water is still cool, but rain is always a welcome sight.
We had breakfast for our dinner this evening.
