Sunday evening chit-chat

Good evening everyone.  I hope you all had a relaxing Sunday...or else got a lot done if that is what you chose to do.

This morning I said that i was just going to do random jobs as I thought of them....well, you know all about the "best laid plans"...lol


Our son came over right after lunch and announced that we were going to clear coat our sidewalks today (we have stenciled sidewalks that he poured for us a few years ago).  That means power washing with soap....scrubbing with a brush and then power washing again with clear water. You then have to blow them dry with a leaf blower...coat them and do the edges with a brush. We finished about 5 and Lily stopped by. She was bringing a bunch of stuff to a storage unit here in Lime Springs. She hasn't been on since her phone was hit by lightning in the storm the other night and she gets internet from the phone line.


When she left, I had lots of watering and other jobs that needed to be done before I had a chance to sit down here. I am beat. It was hot working in that sun all afternoon even though it was only lower 80s.


I see that Bette got everything switched over.  I will post on the "My story" and picture thread later after I clean up.  Charlene

Good evening! Lovely day here with the temps at a very comfortable level. The lake was calm till just awhile ago. Lots of activity out there & plenty of little voices having a good time. The wind has picked up & so have the waves. So, no one that I can see or hear is out now.  

Unlike Charlene's very busy day, ours was quiet as my company is away for the day. The neighbours were over to show off their new month old grandson. Very sweet & he has a very possessive older sister. Then, our daughter popped in for coffee taking a break from some of her work tasks she needs done by tomorrow. Now, all is quiet for the evening I expect.

See you all tomorrow. Should be extra special with everyone coming over as the other forum closes it's doors.

Good evening to one and all. 

I spent the morning picking tomatoes, cukes and onions and then getting them cleaned and cut up and ready for the olive oil recipe for the reunion I went to at 11:00. I made a huge bowl and that bowl was empty in no time.

I enjoyed seeing some cousins I haven't seen in years and of course I enjoyed showing off the 2 kids (boys) of mine that showed up and their 9 kids. I only have 2 aunts left and I promised my aunt from Nevada I would fly (oh no did I really promise that) there next year to visit. She is very rich and wants to pay for my plane ticket and all my gambling at the big casinos. I hate, hate, hate flying, just ask Charlene, lol.

I am home now and will watch Big Brother.

We had late lunch/early dinner with a couple from our local congregation, and another from a nearby one, that never met before...It was soooo much fun, we laughed the whole time and make great new friends...I cheated, buying roasted chicken from the S.Mkt., but the rest was homemade...

It was a beautiful day here. It did get hot but I would go in the shade and cool off for a bit. Got everything done in all the gardens and did some trim where the crab grass was getting long and yucky.

My dad stopped by for a little while just to visit. He thinks I need to buy a new lawn mower. I told him no this one is getting fixed. Sometimes I wonder about him. Now just relaxing and listening to the tv.

It has been a quiet Sunday for us.  Reading and watching television.  We are watching a disaster movie now.  Will probably have bad dreams tonight. LOL.

Good evening all. Lovely day here. I went to a wedding this afternoon. The ceremony was preformed outside with the Erie canal as the backdrop. A few boats went by as well as a few ducks. It was really pretty. Bride and groom were both previously widowed. It is so nice they found each other now. 

Do laundry now getting ready for the workweek ahead.

Good evening.  I guess our weather was nice today.  I didn't really go out too much until we had to leave for our funeral home visit.  I never did water today.  I'll have to be sure and get outside early in the morning so things don't stress too much. 

I am so happy to see all the participation on our new board!  I spoke with both Sue and Marilyn about the new board.  Marilyn said to tell everyone "hi".  She may not make it here right away, but she does have the link now.  I think Sue will be stopping around when she gets the chance also.  The stories on the "My Story" thread are going very well.  I'm glad that Bette started that.  It will help with my CRS.  LOL! 

Well, I guess I should get moving (I'm missing Big Brother right now :D ).  I am behind on things tonight since we stayed at the mortuary for the Rosary service.  We were all gathered waiting for it to start when one of the funeral directors came in and said that the very newly ordained priest had forgotten to schedule us a deacon for the Rosary service.  He apologized profusely. That may make for an awkward meeting with him tomorrow for the funeral.  :-/   Oh well.  It turned out just fine.  A high school friend of the widow got up and led us all in the prayers.  DH says he thinks it may have been more personal and meaningful that way.  I think he's right.  Have a good night!  I'm so looking forward to the VIP in our new home tomorrow.  Yay!

LINY started this on the other board; I replied over there. 

Not much to tell anyway.

Put some laundry away, took Chelsea for a short walk (it was hot & muggy in the sun).

After lunch I weed all the beds across the back corner of the yard (in the shade) & moved the sprinkler all over the yard.

Working every day next week, so probably won't see much of me during the daylight hrs.

Good evening everyone. It's been so long since I have been able to reply on the Chit Chat thread, or any other thread for that matter. I sure was AWOL for a while.

I see that some of you had a busy day while others were able to relax.

We had a lazy kind of day here, mainly watched the Olympics which we both enjoy.

Keeping this short, I want to try and post a pic on Steve's thread. If I can't make them smaller I will wait until things slow down and ask for some help. I have pretty well followed all instructions that have been given. I use PB like some others.

I sure hope Bette is sound a sleep right now. An overly busy week for her, but we all appreciate her time as well as any others that have helped along the way.

Good to see you, Connie.  I'm glad Charlene thought of you also.  I think once you have had a chance to look around a bit, you may find this to be a lot like the old B&B site - very user friendly.  Please don't be a stranger!

CONNIE...so glad you made it here!  I think you will be able to figure this board out.  The last couple have been more confusing.  Here there is the basic option of garden chat...and then just check the threads.  I hope to see more of you now.  You're welcome....and thank you for coming over.  Charlene
