Good morning. Just a quick stop to see what everyone is up to and out the door to continue working on the back driveway bed. This bed takes for ever. There are no weeds but lots of thick wet cold leaves to be removed thanks to Mother Nature last fall. It has to be done with bare hands on my knees. Never know what crawls out of those leaves.
Have a great day.

Good Morning ! I got up early so I could go to my dr appt, and when I got there, they did not have me on the schedule! She had an opening Thursday but since that is my birthday I want to do fun things not go see a doctor! I will go back next Monday.
As soon as I get off the computer I am thinking of heading over to the kitchen and start on my scones. I am considering trying kolaches-they are basically a fruit Danish. Probably not today but soon.
Since we had a big lunch at the care center yesterday, for super I just made the potatoes, eggs and onion skillet for supper. I have some burger patties in the freezer, so will thaw those and make chili burgers for supper.
Helen, hope you are feeling better.
Bet, what kind of new car did you get? We had some leftover space in our little garden so I bought some flower seeds. DH just planted them. It's late-they were supposed to be in the ground early spring. We will see what happens. There are sweet peas, and johnny jump ups and a couple others.
Chris, tell DH he needs to be better about sharing-or else he will have to go back to kindergarten!
Waving to everyone, better run and get busy. DH will be home for lunch in less than an hour!

Bet- as soon as I hit reply I remembered seeing your post. We will also be playing in the leaves( raking) when we get back to the lake. Lots of bugs and a few garter snakes.I take it you can't rake because of the plants coming thru the ground.
Tamara- I love poachers. Up north they make a lot of prune or poppy seed ones. What kind are you thinking of trying?

Tammy, I got a 2013 Ford Fusion. This is the 3rd Fusion I have had and I do love them. I also looked at a 2014 but it was more than I wanted to pay. This one has pretty low mileage but not as low as the 2007 when considering the difference in age. Don't laugh but this morning I did at least get the radio to work on FM. It is voice command which I love. It has Sirrus but I not about to pay for it.
Elaine, the clumps of plants could stand the rake but there are a lot of seedlings which need special care.

Morning! Started out with very heavy fog...could hardly see houses 2 lots away. It gradually lifted and now it's a beautifully sunny day, warm with a slight breeze. I cherish these spring days! Helen - Hope you feel better. Sending hugs. Chris - Did the laptop need recharging? Hope it's not dead, dead!!! We don't usually venture to the seacoast area on weekends because of the traffic...DH commuted for so many years in heavy traffic that he is loath to do it for "pleasure"! LOL Last year, we did talk about meeting a little inland at Sylvan St. Grille in Salisbury, MA. Marlene - Hugs! Time passes so quickly; it will be 2 years Memorial Day that my DB passed. Bet - Ugh on the job you have to do today! Tonight we are having a pasta, sausage and vegetable dish with a side salad. Will check in later! Waving!

I have a can of blackberry filling so will probably use it. I have half a bag of small green apples so am wanting to look up a recipe to make some homemade apple filling. The recipe I looked at is from TOH, and it called for raspberry or apricot filling. I have seen poppy seed filling at the store and would like to try it.
The gluten free muffins turned out pretty well. Anxious to see if they sell well.
I baked some beef pot pies for lunch so am just waiting for DH to show up.
I got a call from Crystal and she wants me to drive the transit van tomorrow when we go to Lufkin to Hobby Lobby! I am going to take it for a test drive this afternoon. It is an easy drive, straight north on the highway and then park in a huge lot, so I think I will manage ok.
I got the bathroom touched up. Still need to mop and clean the toilet. I use hair spray every morning and it is such a small space that a lot of spray ends up on the mirrors, so wiped those really well with alcohol and now they sparkle!
Here's DH. Later....

Good afternoon everyone. Hope this finds you having a great day. Today we celebrate several food holidays--National Coconut Cream Pie Day and National Empanada Day. It's also Have a Coke Day and National Teacher Appreciation Day, as well as Nurse Appreciation Week. A heartfelt thank you to all present and past teachers and nurses.
DH went back to work this morning. I needed just one more day at home to try and catch up with things I couldn't find time for with him here. The first thing I needed to do was ironing--I had 3 hours worth this morning. I also wanted to work some meals for the rest of this week for easy reheat since I'll be subbing the remainder of the week and happily I got that gone too. Sure, there more I'd like to have gotten done, but it will probably have to wait until school is done for the year.
This morning we woke to a strong smell of smoke in the air. A wild fire broke out during the overnight hours east of us and the winds were blowing it this way. Luckily, it seemed to clear up once and for all as the morning went on. Currently sunny and 90*, we'll probably climb 1 or 2 more degrees yet before the sun starts to go down.
Dinner this evening will be smothered pork chops and gravy with mushrooms, carrots, and mashed potatoes.
Waving to all and wishing you a relaxing and peacefully evening.
Lori

Ann- Salisbury sounds good to me. I do remember that now that you remind me! LOL
Was stressful today. Had to meet with DCF and an issue of TPR. I dislike those meetings.

Ah, sitting down to relax and catch up for a minute while dinner is in the oven -- Barber cordon bleu chicken breasts. I have assorted fruit and vegetables to add on for sides.
Other than that, not much going on, which is really nice. Hoping for a nice quiet evening. And hopefully I didn't just jinx myself! :o

I went out today to catch up on errands. Got some nice fresh veggies and orange juice, which I was craving. I seem better. Thanks for the good wishes. Supper tonite was a scrambled egg, toast, and sliced tomatoes. Sweet dreams to all.
