I am enjoying a somewhat leisurely morning since I don't have to be at work quite as early this morning, so will get things started here. Also enjoying my third cup of coffee with Coconut Caramel creamer. :)
Speaking of coffee, I can't believe that I forgot to buy coffee this week and almost ran out! Fortunately, I still had in my freezer the last of the Vietnamese coffee that DS#2 sent me last year. Crisis averted! (Note to self: ask DS#1 to buy more for me when he goes to Vietnam this summer!)
Hope you are all doing well and sufficiently caffeinated this morning! I'll check back later ~

I am on my 2nd cup Elza. I got up early w/Red and let him and have a Rhubarb/Strawberry cobbler in the oven and it is about done. So had my coffee after I made that. I have a beef stew and will make corn muffins for the neighbors. So they will have supper from me tonight.
Cleaning lady is to come this afternoon she will dust and vacuum bedrooms and living room. Wish I could still do my own. She does a good job and that is what is necessary.
I am having a log made w/ Johnson on it and picture of pheasant and deer on it and he sent me email so is done. Waiting to hear when I can go pick it up. Now I am anxious to get it. Hope it will fit in my SUV with seats laid down. I will ask him how long it is. I needed something in the big space where I have river rock and Chuck thought I should get a big rock but seen this and think will look nice.
Hope you all have a nice week-end!
Marlene

Good morning. I am on my 1st cup of coffee. Louie and I are sitting outside before it gets to hot. He doesn't like the heat. We have shuffleboard this morning. This afternoon I have UNO and we are having cake also as Marie is 89 today. She plays all the card games with us everyday. Tonight DH and I are going to casino for seafood and prime rib.
ELZA- don't work to hard today. Thanks for starting us this morning. MARLENE- you will have to post a picture of the log when you get it in its place. I would love to see it.
Have a wonderful day. ELAINE

Just took a loaf of a whole wheat bread out of the oven...it was very easy to make...no kneading and if it is as good and similar to one we had in New Zealand, will post the recipe. We had it toasted for breakfast there so will try it that way tomorrow.

Afternoon! Today started out beautifully sunny and warm; now it's pouring rain, it's much cooler. Went to the local Lebanese market to get stuff for our "Shwarma" supper. I got babaganoush, hummus, tabbouleh, whole wheat pita and lean scrambled hamburger with onions, zaatar, and sumac powder. We take a piece of pita, spread with hummus or babaganoush, spoon on burger, and top with tabbouleh...like a taco! Last night's recipe for Spinach & Mushroom Smothered Chicken" was really good. I'm glad that I doubled the recipe for leftovers! Pippin - I have a couple of no-knead breads; the whole wheat is my favorite. Marlene - Your "log" sounds really beautiful! Have a great evening! Waving!

Good Afternoon ! Today is going by so fast. I just got potatoes in the oven for supper, along with some Lipton baked chops and fried apples.
Today was another sunny and warm day, but it started off cool.
I worked at the resale this morning. When I left, I saw Helen walking in for lunch. I bought her those 2 pots for her bulbs, but when I took them over she was not home so I left them on her deck. She did figure out who brought them. She liked them a lot. I meant to call her yesterday but was busy all day.
I watched The Greatest Showman last night after DH went to bed. He did not seem interested in it, so I waited. It was probably good that he did not see it as I really don't think he would have cared for it. I usually like musicals but this one was just fair, IMO. It would have been a good movie, with just acting, I thought the songs were not very good, but the story line was. Again, just my opinion.
I can't think of any plans we have for the weekend. I will need to figure out something for dinner. I have ingredients for the main dish I am taking to church, but will need to go and pick up the things for the dessert.
Have a super evening !

Had errands today after my day of leisure yesterday. Had to get out an overnight UPS envelope for bank business and then got some gas for the Bug. It was way too hot and sweaty for the top to be down today. Also made a stop at Publix for fresh veggies and fruits. I got some of that Florida corn on the cob that's on sale. It looks good, Lori. How was your's? Also got a loaf of beautiful Italian bread with crusty crust and sesame seeds. I foresee a few yummy grilled cheese sandwiches in my very near future. Love it when the sesame seeds get all toasted. :) Tonite's supper was Crustless Spinach Quiche and fresh sliced tomatoes. Hoping for a good sleep tonite.

Hi friends. Hope everyone had a great day!
After work today I ran to BJ's and the Amish Farm Market (30 eggs for $2.99, bacon $2.99 lb, grape tomatoes 50 cents each, 5 lb. bag of red potatoes 99 cents). I also had a rain check for Winn Dixie items that they were out of last week when on sale so I got those tonight. As I walked across to my car, I saw Chick-Fil-A and decided that would be dinner, so I pulled in there and brought it home. Now showered, I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open. Until tomorrow, sweet dreams to all.

We had our first cookout of the season as DH grilled burgers for our dinner tonight. One of my favorite meals.
