Just got on the computer and I couldn't find where anyone started this today. So lets open the door and get started.

Today is National Pretzel Day. I saw on the news that several pretzel places are offering a free treat today. If you're lucky enough near one of these places and can grab one, good for you.
Have been doing some cleaning around the house today, but also ran out to the Amish Market to get Florida fresh corn on the cob (13 for $2) and stopped off at the library.
Will make a meat loaf for dinner, have an ear of corn, and finish up the leftover roasted tomato pasta.
Waving to all!

Been doing the washing and cleaned kitchen, bath and Utility rooms. Cleaning lady will do rest of house tomorrow. Seems like just me and Red we can get it dirty.
Debi (DD) sent me a message at 1:00 this morning and Dr. said DSIL kidneys are shutting down so will be I-2 days. It has been a week that she has been in the hospital. Her DD Debi has not worked she won't leave her. The other kids come and stay when they can. So sad to see her laying in pain.
It is nice day in the 60's at least the sun is shining. Sounds like nice week-end for a change too. Then Monday rain. Will see if they hit it right???
Your supper sounds good. I took out some Top Sirloin steak will make a beef stew for the neighbors. She had surgery so will do a dessert also. While she had surgery she had a heart attack so now she has to see a heart doctor. She never had trouble before so it is strange it happened then too. She was treated right away for the attack. I have had surgeries and she never has brought us food but I can't be like that. I like to share when it is needed. Her boys do farm my ground so they will enjoy it.
Take care everyone and stay healthy!!

Afternoon, Lori and all who follow. We had a good glug of rain overnight and into this morning; the sun came out full force around 2pm. It's lovely with windows open now. Duchess kitty has been alternating between sitting in the sun on the porch and hopping up onto the bedroom window sill on the other side of the house to cool off. LOL Tonight we are having TOH's "Spinach & Mushroom Smothered Chicken". I changed the recipe a bit by adding some garlic and white wine to the spinach/mushroom mixture, and I coated the chicken pieces with a little oil before sprinkling on the rotisserie chicken seasoning. Will have it with mashed rutabaga. I just steamed it soft, mashed it and seasoned it with salt & pepper and a touch of nutmeg. Lori - We have FL corn...5 for $1.99! Hope your DFIL does what he's planned!!! Chris - That would be neat meeting you in Rye! Waving to everyone! Enjoy the evening!

Hello Lori and others to come, I had nothing planned for today as I had a summons for jury duty...I made my call @ 5:30 yesterday and was told to call back @ 11:30 today......Yay.....I am off the hook.
I have had laundry going so will continue w/that. I am working on grocery list and getting e-coupons loaded for discounts. I plan to get out to get a few errands done later this afternoon as tomorrow will be horrible to be out ......Teachers are on strike and schools through out the county will be closed tomorrow.....not enough staff to operate. I have real heartburn w/that....yes, our tax dollars at work. All the districts in our county have received benefits from massive bond elections.
Spring is arriving slowly here....warm one day and cold the next....
Tonight will be homemade tacos.

I was hoping to get off early today but that didn't happen quite as planned -- no surprise there! I did get out a little earlier, and will come in a bit later tomorrow.
I cleaned all the bathrooms when I got home, so feel like I got something accomplished today! Chicken tenders are in the oven for a quick dinner.
A cool, rainy evening, but hoping for warmer weather tomorrow.

Marlene, I am so sorry. I know your heart is aching.
I stayed in today and did as little as possible. Read a book and then a cookbook. Tonite's supper was a clean out the refrigerator nite. Dibs and dabs of good stuff. I saw that good price on Florida corn, too, Lori. Thinking I'd better be getting myself some. :)

Fresh corn sounds wonderful. Unfortunately it will be at least 3 months before we get any local stuff so I'm just a little green, Lori and Helen .Enjoy some for me!
Spent the morning canning (ready for November) with friends. We're trying to get some of the things that don't use local produce made before we get really busy with all our fresh fruits etc. Then hubby and I took a run to the golf club to drop clubs off ready for the season. When we got back the sunhad come out so we went for a walk.
Supper was an easy meal, straight from the freezer and pantry - fish & chips with mushy peas ( hubby loves them while I tolerate them occassionally).
Duchess knows what's good, Ann. I'll have to check the chicken recipe too - that sounds good.
Marlene, I hope your DSIL is kept pain free. So glad her family is with her.
Doris - glad you didn't have to do jury duty.
Elza, I used to find any time I hoped to get away early from work, everything conspired against me and it wouldn't happen.

Hello ! I spent the day in Houston and just got back home. I stopped by a small country café and got some dinner for us. I got a steak finger dinner, and a cheeseburger. DH chose the burger, he said it was good. The building is ancient, but I heard the food was ok, so took a chance. For lunch I went to the nacho shop next door to the salon. It was really great. After lunch I went over to visit my long time friend Kathy. It was a good visit.
It was a sunny day and we were to get up to 80*. We never got any rain lastnight.
Tomorrow I will be working at the resale shop, and don't have any plans for the afternoon. I bought some pork chops a few days ago so plan on cooking those for supper.
Going to go and visit with DH, and then I think we are going to watch the movie "The Greatest Showman". We were not able to see it Tuesday night due to the cook out so DH was able to borrow it.
Night!
