Good morning! I'll get things going today.
Still rainy here in the upstate, but at least it should warm up some by the afternoon.
I'm planning a quick (if there is such a thing!) run by Sam's after work, so I may pick up a rotisserie chicken for dinner while I'm there. If not, I have stuffed chicken breasts in the freezer.
Talk to you later ~

Sorry to see this happening lost my brother ( her DH) to the same thing. I cancelled my hair appt. and will go tomorrow. I went to see the folks got groceries and had blood work and then went to have oil changed in my suv. Also got more solar lights so will have the whole place lit up around here.
Chris glad Dan is enjoying his cruise. That rough ride would have not done it for me and I do like to be on the water but something about ocean I get sea sick.
Elaine that was a good picture of you on face book. Always nice to see the family.
Better make my bed and get my rear in gear!!

Good morning all.
Yesterday we got some bad news. DH's grandma (92) fell and broke her neck. She is off the ventilator and on morphine. They gave her 24 hours or so to live. Terrible. Dh's parents have said much because they are nuts but his aunt drove up and she has been giving us info. She has told us not to come up there we won't make it and she is pretty much gone already.
Dinner will be something simple. Maybe a taco salad.
Marlene, sorry about your sil. I am thinking of you.
Have a great day.

Good morning. We are having absolutely beautiful weather here.k It got to 66 in the sun yesterday and to be the same today. Friday morning I got up with a miserable cold so haven't been here much. It hurt to even read. Last night I finally caught up since Friday what everyone has been up to. Looks like spring has sprung for most of you finally.
With my head so congested I have been putzing around most of the time. The second greenhouse is up and all of the plants are now out of the shop. However no seedlings yet. Tomorrow we are suppose to have rain and then overcast on Thursday so might start moving then.
Yesterday I finally got my 4 wheeler running so am set to go with that. I also started working the the bank in front of the lower deck. It is totally over grown with briars. I cut and hauled all the briars on the top half to the fire pit and racked it. The bed is 28' long. Still have the lower half to do. All of the shrubs are overgrown and new ones have sprouted up. There will be a lot of haircuts and digging to recover the entire bed. However the frost isn't out of the ground yet. There is still ice in some spots there.
When I finished getting all the briars in the firepit I decided to stop on them to flatten the pile down. That was a wrong move as I fell into the pit on top of all the briars and rolled over them. I ended up with my head lower than my feet on an angle and couldn't move. It took me quite a while to get myself up. Any movement wass more thorns sticking me. I had to laugh when it was all over but while laying there trying to figure the whole situation out all that I could think of was the newspaper headlines some dumb old lady was found on a bed of thorns. I did bruise my right chest a little between my surgery and my shoulder. It is sore but don't think anything serious.
Today I need to get the carpet down in the greenhouse and get a bench and a seed rack moved in. Then I will check to see if I can work one of the beds in the fairy garden as I want to take out what few plants are in there and add garden dirt and till it in. Problem is everything that needs to be done requires lifting and not sure how that is goink to work out.
Had appointments tomorrow for a ct scan and with the oncologist but with this cold I decided to cancel them. Didn't fell a scan would work well with the coughing and they certainly don't need anyone visiting the cancer center with a cold.
Marlene and Betsy, so sorry to hear about your bad news. My they both go peacefully without pain.
Have a great day.

Good morning.
MARLENE- sorry to hear about your sister in law. Thank you about the pictures.
Betsy- I am also sorry about your news .
Chris- are cabins on cruise ships usually that small? I guess I was expecting the size of hotel rooms, lol. I know you just need a place to sleep.
Bet- hope you feel better soon.
Tasty- what are you making in your craft group. We will be making swirly bead wind things on May 1st.
NANCY- that had to of been a boring game. Is your 3rd team that good or the other team lousy.
ELZA- we will be going to Sam's Club once we get to the lake. I had a jalapeno popper at happy hour and it wasn't spicy so I want to get a box. Of course we always have Memphis or rotisserie chicken wings in the freezer.
I got Jack walked this morning. Not sure if I will walk at noon or just let him out for awhile as it is suppose to be98 today. At 3 we will just take him for a golf cart ride. ELAINE

Good afternoon friends. Per the morning news, today is National Pigs-in-a-Blanket Day and National Sauvignon Blanc Day.
No call for work today, however I have been requested for a kindergarten class tomorrow and another day in May. Hard to believe there is just 3 full weeks left of this school year--it seemed to fly by this year for me.
After I got the ironing done and went on a bike ride, I decided to change my dinner plans since I'm home. I will make baked chicken with lemon and fresh herbs and an orzo and broccoli salad to go with it.
(((Marlene and Betsy))), so very sorry to read your bad news. Have said a prayer for both ladies and their families.
(((Bet))), you need a hug too! Hope you feel better soon.
Tammy, I was just too tired last night to write, but I wanted to also mention how hungry you made me for fried green tomatoes--love them!
Tasty, have a good afternoon at crafts.
Elaine, are you getting ready to return to the lake already? Know you've been concerned about the new owners and changes they were making--hopefully not too many.
Nancy, sounds like it was a great game last night--glad DD's team finally won a game. How long does the season go for her?
The brilliant blue skies we had earlier have gone into hiding but once again the rain has passed us by. Currently 82*.
This afternoon I am trying to locate a nursery that has mango trees for sale. My little tree that I've been growing from seed the past three years looks like it has died due to DH placing a heavy handful of fertilizer on it. It was doing fine without it, but he told me would give it a little boost. I will wait another week or two to see if the leaves come back, but I'm not too hopeful.
The dishwasher is playing its tune to let me know it is done and ready to be emptied. Waving to all.

Afternoon! It's another banner spring day here. I took my mom and met my cousin for lunch today. We had a wonderful time. Mom had lobster pie...before the prices go up!!! Just finished making a "Big Salad" for supper...remember the Seinfeld episode? LOL Betsy and Marlene - Sorry to read your sad news. Will say some prayers for your loved ones' comfort and peace. Hugs to you both! Lori - Hope you can get some sleep tonight. Sorry to read about your FIL. That is my biggest fear for my mom. Falling is never good for folks that age. Prayers. Supper sounds good! Bet - Hope your cold is better! Tasty - Yum on the soup and bread!!! It is nice to get outside...so much to do, though! Nancy - Tomorrow will be a very rainy day tomorrow...we need it. Your supper sounds great. Congrats to your DD for her win! Time to get a wiggle on! Waving!

I am so sorry about the ill health of so many of our families. I wish you all comfort and peace.
I am trying another book from the library today. Somehow, I've lost my zest for reading but will try again. Supper was meatloaf and mashed potatoes. I picked up some frozen fruit bars the other day and am surprised they're so good -- black cherry with pieces of cherry in it. That will be dessert. Hugs to all.

(((Hugs))) to Marlene and Betsy -- there is no easy way to lose a family member. Prayers for both of you and all of the family as you go through this hard time. Bet -- nothing like landing right in the briar patch! Bless your heart, I hope you are feeling better by now. Nancy, yay for DD's team -- that is a big win! Tasty, your soup and French bread dinner sounds good. Elaine, I evidently picked the right time to go to Sam's because I breezed in and out -- didn't have to wait in line at all! I do love their rotisserie chickens and we will get at least one more meal out of that. Lori, I hope you find another mango tree if the one you have doesn't make it. Pippin, I agree -- I hope we hear from Sara soon -- it's been a while. Laundry is finishing up so I'm going to watch the last half of Chopped and then head to bed with my book.

Just a very quick hello.
Saying prayers for your loved ones who are nearing the end of their lives on this earth, and for comfort for the family.
Bet, I will pray for you also! So sorry about getting caught in the briars! Ouch!
We got up extra early since DH had to check in to the heart clinic by 9. He went into the back area at 9:30 and was told he would be doing tests for 4-5 hours. I left and went to Target. It was a fun and successful shopping trip. I got two cookbooks! Joanna Gaines book came out today, Magnolia Table, so I got it. I also got Debbie Macomber's newest cookbook. They both look really interesting. I got a couple cute flower pots for Helen, she wants to plant some amaryllis bulbs. I hope these work. I ended up going to several more stores, and got back to the clinic at 1:20. DH came out at about 1:50. He was exhausted after his nuclear stress test. he did not care about lunch. We had planned on eating at Cracker Barrel and using a gift card we got for Christmas. I stopped by Chick Fil A and got us some sandwiches. I got 2 dresses each for the DGD who are 10 and 8. I got their little brother 2 shorts and 2 tops. I was able to find some good deals on ladies undies, and a 2 bra set, that I will donate to the clothing pantry.).
As soon as we got home, I made the pico de gallo ( got lots of compliments on it!) I also made a pan of Spanish rice. The fajitas that DH cooked were very good. It was meat that Crystal bought already marinated. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. There was vanilla ice cream and some toppings for dessert.
I am tired too, so think I will do some crosstitch, take a sleeping pill and go to bed early. No plans for tomorrow day, so I will check in then.
