Finally Friday! Looks like another beautiful sunny day for us today. I hope it's a good day for everybody ~
No definite dinner plans but I have chicken tenders in the freezer and DH stocked up recently on things to grill. So we have plenty of options.

Good morning.
Nice day here. It will warm up 10 degrees. We had quite a bit of rain yesterday.
DD gets out at noon and we are going to lunch and then to the mall to return some items we bought online .
Dinner will be kielbasa, Boston Bakes Beans, salad and asparagus.
I am going to bake this morning. Not sure what yet.
Waving to all. Betsy

It is another nice day here. This cat is driving me crazy this morning, is his 3rd time outside and think he can stay outside!! He won't eat his food just picking at it. As you can tell he is not on the good list this morning. All this going outside was from 4:30-5:30!!That is still my sleeping time.
I have rhubarb, strawberries, red raspberries and blueberries. So think will make two 9x9 pans of crumble. Just sounds good. I have Bobby Flay recipe so will try it out. I get a recipe that has all the cooking stars in it but save very few of the recipes. Most are not my way of cooking and can't get half the things they call for in our stores.
I did go to Menards yesterday and got 24 outdoor solar lights to put around house. Will let Chuck tell me where to put them. I also went to Sam's and Culvers for dinner. Had a Hamburger and side cole slaw and Salted Caramel w/Pecans Custard was delicious!! Then came home and put everything away. I also bought one of their chickens and took off the bone and froze it for future use.
So now will get to kitchen and make my crumble and need to go to FSA office to see about putting tile in some of my farm ground. So if that doesn't happen can do Monday when I have to have blood work. I am not going to tile until this fall but have to go through the FSA first they tell me. Nothing like getting the Government involved in everything we do but they are not paying for it.
Take care and have a good day everyone! Marlene

Good morning. We just got back from shuffleboard and the wind has picked up. Not good as we are having our last wiener roast of the season tonight. We talked to manager and she said we could just grill them up by the clubhouse if wind keeps up. Our neighbor just brought us fresh tomatoes from the garden so we are going to store and getting lettuce and bacon for BLTS and shells for tacos. We also will be having them on burgers.
We got bad news yesterday, Jeff's brain cancer is rapidly growing and is in his brain stem. Dh wants to see him before he dies but our lake resort doesn't open until May 1st. Sad as he is only 38 with 6 year old and 8 year old.
Have a great afternoon. ELAINE

Afternoon! Ah, except for the wind gusts, it's a beautiful day. I went looking in the freezers today for my roasted vegetable sauce, and I found none!!! So I went to the grocery to stock up. As luck would have it, almost everything I needed including the canned tomatoes was on mark down!!!! There were lots of tomatoes on mark down so I just finished roasting them. Will send them through the food mill tomorrow while the rest of the veggies are roasting. I'm going to make some sausage ragu with some of the sauce and keep some meatless. I also made another test recipe for ATK...an escarole hot dish with Chinese seasonings. We'll have it tonight with the leftover Chinese I made the other day. Elaine - I will say prayers for Jeff's comfort. Hope everyone has a great Friday evening! Waving!

Hello everyone. Kind of a rough day here. I'm working on finishing up Hubby issues. All hard.
While out, I treated myself to supper at Olive Garden. I had Salmon Piccata with angel hair pasta. They were very accommodating about changing the meal up a little bit more to my liking. It was very good.
I'll be putting my head down soon. Sweet dreams.

Good evening everyone. Today was National Pineapple Upside Down Cake Day and Lima Bean Respect Day.
This morning started out interesting. On our local news it mentioned that I-75 was closed one mile south of us and closed for 10 miles south, the exit DH needs to get off for work. He grabbed coffee and said he was leaving early. What is normally a 20 minute drive south turned into a 40 minute crawl. Seems that there was a controlled burn on private property late yesterday afternoon. Overnight the wind died down and the leftover smoke wasn't able to clear out. This morning the smoke started up and crossed the highway making visibility zero, which in turn caused several major accidents. For over 6 hours the highway was closed in this 10 mile stretch and and every vehicle going north or south was ushered off onto other streets. What a mess! Finally the highway was opened shortly before 1pm this afternoon.
My class I subbed for today was sweet and the day flew by. Afterwards on my way home I stopped at Publix and got most of my grocery shopping done. Tomorrow I need to gas up the car and then I'll run into BJ's for chicken. Sunday I'll go over to both Sprouts and Lucky's to pick up my produce.
Dinner tonight was leftover chicken with dill sauce, mashed potatoes, and peas and carrots. Dessert later on will be a fruit juice bar.
Going to go watch a little tv with DH, maybe read in between, and then shortly I'll be off to bed. Goodnight friends--waving to all.
Lori
Edit to say hello to you Helen and big hugs. Sweet dreams.

HI ! I know it's late. Ended up being a busy day. I got up early and went over to the center and ate their big breakfast. I had biscuits, gravy, bacon, hash browns and scrambled eggs. If you order fried eggs, they cook them for you. The scrambled they do ahead, so even though they were in a pan on the stove they were cold. I did not eat very much of them. I worked around the rv, and then I worked over at the resale shop until 2. I ran over and got our mail, then got a car and picked up Helen. We shopped at Palais Royal department store. She got some new tops, I got dresses for the 3 youngest DGD. We went by Lowe's where shoe bought plants and potting soil, then by the grocery store. Lastly we ate at the Chinese buffet. I'm beat! I think I will sleep well tonight.
Elaine I am sorry to read about Jeff. I apologize for asking if you have mentioned him before, is he a relative?
I have not heard from DH, so I guess all is going well. Tonight is usually when Ray puts on a big spread and asks his sponsors to come by for supper.
I don't have plans for tomorrow day, so hope to get more cleaning done around here. I have not heard from Pauline, she is in charge of the clothing pantry so I assume we are not going to work there. I just have to go to the community concert. I will be driving one of the vans over. There is a couple going and he is not able to get up into the bus, and the wheelchair lift on the bus is not working, so I will take them in the car.
There are supposed to be some storms tomorrow night, hope they are not bad. Waving to everyone, will check back tomorrow.

Just got home. We were able to have the campfire as the wind died down.
Tamara- yes, I have mentioned Jeff for years, DH would take him hunting. We would take him with us camping etc. But I understand about not remembering.
Ann- thank you. ELAINE

Elaine and Helen big, big hugs.
Had a terrible day today. DD had 2 threats at her school today. This is youngest dd's middle school. So scary and upsetting. Truly, the punishment for these threats need to be more severe.
I feel so sad tonight about what our students and teachers deal with.
Good night all.
