Getting things ready for tonight. Always last minute things I think need done ! With a kitty always last minute things to run vac and need to tidy things. I did put buns to rising to bake later before the roast goes in the oven. Mark was here last night and set up his tent for turkey hunting. So fed him piece of Berry pie when he got done. Sent home his cake to take to locker. He said Kim has been feeling pretty punky with terrible cold not getting her sleep. She had a meeting last night with the council in little town where does the books.
Today we will have some sunshine and nice weather. The farmers are racing to get the anhydrous put on before we get nasty weather this week-end. There are so many reports and take a guess who is right? We did not have much sun yesterday as was foggy coming from Kansas where they are burning Flint Hills off. So was very hazy.
Better get to doing things I want to do today so hope you all have a great day.

Morning, everyone! It's started out beautiful this morning, but it was still cold. Now the clouds are moving in, but it's getting warmer!!! We won't have running water until around 4pm today; city is doing work on the lines. When it does come back, we will have to run a water faucet outside and 1 inside until the water runs clear after cleaning the screens on all faucets inside. Last night's fish salad was good. Will have leftovers over a couple of days as a snack. Tonight we are finishing the chicken cacciatore, and we'll have a side salad which I've already made. Tasty - Enjoy your evening out! Betsy - The Mexican turkey breast sandwiches you had last night sound interesting. How did you make them? Marlene - The food you cook always interests me! My DH still talks about the "hogs wings" you told me about. They are so delicious and easy to prepare. Birdy - That's good of you to post the recipes we share where they will be easy to find. Sending Bet extra thanks for her past efforts, too. Tammy - Did you enjoy your fried chicken dinner? We don't have a specialized "Fried Chicken w/ sides" place around here...there is a Popeyes just over the border in NH, but I've not eaten there yet. Lori - I forget if I told you...we have a Chick-a-Filet coming to the shopping center near us. You talk about it so much; I can't wait to try it!!! Have a few things to do. Will check in later!

Good afternoon friends. Per the morning news, today is Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day and National Licorice Day--I must admit, I like both very much.
It was a cool morning so I went for a long 2-hour bike ride early this morning. We started the day at 50* but quickly jumped to our current 77*, high of 82* later today.
Not much happening here. Slow week for subbing due to testing this week.
Nancy, thanks for starting us off. With your busy schedule we know it isn't always an easy thing to do, but know it is deeply appreciated.
Tasty, have good time with your friends tonight.
Helen, glad you got your hair cut. I need to get in and get mine cut as well, but am trying my hardest to hold off another week or two.
Betsy, the Mexican turkey (or was it chicken?) sandwiches sound good. When you have time, would your share the recipe with us? Thanks. Also wanted to tell you that although your DM no longer has Frontier for her cable, I thought of her this morning. The state has received over 2,000 complaints about their services that are being looked into, so Frontier has decided that they want out of the state and currently are trying to sell out. They have been a major headache and I won't shed a tear when they leave.
Marlene, I'm sure your dinner guests will be great company for you and enjoy every bite of your delicious meal.
Ann, I hope you'll enjoy Chick-Fil-A when it opens near you. I just heard on the news yesterday that it is the #1 fast food restaurant where teenagers like to spend their $
Dinner this evening will be almost the same as Betsy's--pasta, salad, and fresh fruit instead of a veggie.
Waving to all. Enjoy your day.
Lori

Hello, Went for a manicure today right after lunch. I also filled up the car and got some groceries for the next couple of days. Tonight I am doing breakfast, then I will be working at the clothing pantry from 5-7.
Have a very nice time tonight Tasty.
Ann, yes, I really enjoyed the fried chicken lunch. I think everyone did. Because I drove the van, a new resident paid for my lunch! We have Popeyes and Chicken Express. There is a Church's building but I don't think they are open as I never see anyone inside.
Have fun tonight Marlene. I know everyone will really enjoy the meal.
On Friday afternoons, they usually do free ice cream floats, over at the center, but last week and this week, one of the new volunteers is paying for all the ingredients to make sundaes. I hope I remember to go over there tomorrow afternoon. This is the same lady who is paying the expenses to put on a ladies tea next month. She is very generous. Like last year, she is going to do all the savory things and I will make the desserts. I got the ingredients for macaroons, so will try a new recipe for those. If they turn out I will take some to the coffee shop, and will make more for the tea.
Tomorrow night we will be having a cook out, out at the fire pit and deck. It is a thank you to all who helped with the health fair. She invited about 60, so no telling how many will show up. DH will be grilling burgers. I am going to try a new recipe for spaghetti salad. I saw a recipe awhile back for something called "Fat Ladies". I bought the ingredients for them also. If I have time, I might get them done for tomorrow night. It is purchased chocolate chip cookie dough, pressed in a pan and baked. Then you melt Kraft caramels with some half and half, spread that over. Top with chocolate chips and when they melt, spread them out and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
Waving to all, hope you enjoy the evening!

I got off early this afternoon, which was very welcome. Getting caught up on the computer at home before I go run by the library to return a book. Then I'm meeting my coworkers for dinner out. Our part-time teller is leaving to take a position at another branch so we are having a little farewell dinner for her. (Also, we like to try out different local restaurants ever so often!) I've been to the place we're going before so I know it's good. Just trying to make up my mind what to order!

Betsy--I'll add my request for the Mexican turkey breast sandwich recipe, too. Sounds good.
Ann--do you have a regular recipe for your fish salad or do you just wing it? I have a bag of frozen haddock filets in the freezer that I would like to use up. Some day, it might even be warm enough to make it a warm-weather supper. Hah on that one!
It's gloomy, damp, barely warmer, and we are going to have our temps go down with a chance of freezing rain coming up during the weekend. Very depressing for the middle of April!
