Thanks to Waterlily for this recipe: "You might like to give this a try for a little different change of pace: WESTPORT DRESSING This dates back to the 1930's and 40's to the Westport Room in Kansas City. I believe it was owned by Fred Harvey Restaurants. 1 cup mayonnaise – NOT MIRACLE WHIP ¼ cup parmesan cheese 1 tablespoon lemon juice ½ teaspoon black pepper 2 or 3 teaspoons Tabasco sauce ¾ teaspoon garlic salt 3 teaspoons or more of Worcestershire sauce 3 tablespoons dried, fine breadcrumbs (I use packaged) ¼ cup water Stir all together and let stand, refrigerated for a couple of hours for flavors to blend. The breadcrumbs are an unusual addition and add body to this. It will thicken slightly upon standing and should have a consistency similar to Thousand Island ….slightly thick. It keeps for up to a week, refrigerated. I use it to dip veggie sticks in as well as a salad dressing on green salads. ENJOY !"
