Marlene, Yep, working mon-fri and trying to adjust my cleaning schedule and other things that I always had free time to do :o .
Bet, I sent you a message but not sure if I did it right. Please let me know ifyou got it.
I was going to make pork chops for dinner tonight but they are still frozen. I need a few things from the store so I will pick up fried chicken after work.
Must run for now.

Good morning to all! Sending warm and loving hugs to anyone in need. Hope everyone that has had sleep interruptions this past week got a good nights rest last evening.
Nancy, I'm sure you will adjust to your new job and your new schedule at home just fine. Preparing, or prepping as much as possible meals on the weekends has always, and still continues, to be helpful for me. There are weekends that I wish I didn't have to do this, but if I didn't, we'd probably not eat until 7:30-8:00 every night. I guess that's the "teacher" in me, I have to be organized and know what I'm doing/having for dinner.
Tammy, I keep meaning to tell you how much I enjoy my "armchair traveling" with you and DH. It sounds like the two of you are enjoying every minute of your travels--I love reading about the site, sounds, and foods in each area! How is that darling DGD of yours feeling today? Hope she is doing better.
Helen, isn't your DD due back for a visit sometime soon? I know she's such a blessing and big help to you.
Dentist appointment at noon today for a cleaning. I just finished a few pieces of ironing, so will try to make a new recipe to me for Blond Toffee Brownies. When I get home, I'll put together dinner--ravioli, salad, and garlic bread.
Will try to get back here later if I can--with just the desk top that I share with DH, some times he needs it in the evenings for his job. I sure am looking forward to getting my laptop back! Enjoy your day friends.

Good morning. 40 and sunny. Just breezing through. With these cooler nights I am feeling pressed for time to get all my plants taken care of and inside before frost. Looks like a good 10 day window but still that isn't a lot of time. Afraid that kitchen time will be on hold for a while.
Do need to go to town sometime today but it will be earlier than usual as Cameron and Natalie are getting of the bus here this afternoon. I usually don't like to go until about 3:30-4:00 as by then I am about done work for the day.
Did buy some cucumbers yesterday to hopefully make some bread and butter pickles.
Dinner tonight is corn flake crusted baked chicken breast, roast potatoes and broccoli in cheese sauce.
Have a great day.
Bet
Nancy, I got your message and answered it.

It's a bust on the baking--not a drop of sugar in the cupboards or freezers. Instead, I think I'll work on my menu for next week. Still trying to do the majority of my meals from my larger freezer and get that down. DH saw a great sale on steaks, but I told him forget for now, there's just not enough space right now to add anything more. I'm sure there will be another sale coming up that we can watch for. Lori

Good morning all.
Sending out many hugs to those that need them. Ill family members and dealing with the stress of life in general can be very hard. I hope you can find a break by visiting the board.
Dinner will be quick tonight as I have another ac company coming out. We feel like we can take our time a bit as the old unit is working and it is cool here. Getting lots of bids. I think I will grill hot dogs and make some beans. Also a salad and call it good. It's been a long week and the girls start fall break when the school bell rings tomorrow. So happy. They both need a break. My oldest is taking 5 AP classes and an honor's class. She is very, very smart but even still the first quarter has been a lot of work. She manages straight A's. She is a driven young lady and wants to go to a great college.
I guess I had better get a move on.
Have a lovely day.

Good Thursday morning to everyone. I had another sleepless night last night so hope tonight will be better. They say we should get rain tonight and tomorrow so that might be good napping weather. I don't have any idea what supper will be tonight-- surprise to me when I decide. I hope you all will have a good day.

Sara this not sleeping has to be awful. I take a PM Tylenol every night right after I eat supper or couple hours before bedtime and I mostly sleep all night before Red visits me. I have to take cholesterol and arthritis pill so have them together. sure helps me. I have a friend who takes two of them but one does fine with me.
I have been cleaning and have the living room to do yet. Putting things where they belong and getting things in garage for Goodwill. All takes time.
Got few cards from my aunts in sympathy. One of my cousin's wants all the dates of Jack was in service as they are putting bricks in the Veteran site and they want to do one for Jack. So that will be nice.
Chuck and wife and Jason his wife and two boys and I are going out for dinner tomorrow night. I am so proud of all the work they done for me I just want to do that. Jason's youngest turned 6 last week so sent a card with money and I got a nice Thank you today. Jason's wife is a pastor in a church close by here. Hope we have a good time.
Well better get back to work here. Hoping to get the yard mowed too. Marlene

Oh Chris that hot dog sounds so good!! I love footlong's too. I need to go to the locker and get me some more hot dog's.
Did get my lawn mowed and man is the wind ever blowing!! I had a big box to burn so wrestled with it and burned it. I have my burning barrel hidden by trees so it was safe. I got my 2 lawn chairs I ordered and sure like them. They are swivel and look comfy. Left Terry a message and he will stop and put them on the base for me. Suppose by looks they just sit on the base. All stores were out here and I wanted some, is nice to sit outside yet so I ordered them from Target.
Better look to see what will fix for supper. Have some brat patties I might take out and grill. Will see. Marlene

Hello ! Chris, meeting up with you is my priority! We plan on leaving tomorrow morning and right now I have no plans for where we will be going on any particular day. Ann, we may be closer to you when we are in New Hampshire than when we move down to Falmouth. It's up to you where and when we meet. It sounds like I will meet up with Chris this coming Sunday. Would that be convenient for you to come over? If not, let me know as we are very flexible.
I am frying myself a burger patty for supper, and DH is going to have one piece of leftover "schnitzel" from my dinner lastnight. It really was more of a fried pork chop. We stopped by a store and I got some local corn on the cob and a couple fresh tomatoes grown locally also. Oh, I also picked up a bag of the smoked gouda chips!
Today we drove west of here, but did not want to pay the $19.00 fee to go and see what God created! It is a nice park and I understand the charge for upkeep but almost $20.00 a person and then you have to walk 1,000 steps once inside???? No thanks. We drove on and saw a few covered bridges, and finally found one waterfall on our list. One we never did find. The one we did, was only after a long drive. We resorted to using Siri and found the correct road which turned to dirt. I saw a turn off with a very small parking lot and one car was parked. We noticed a tiny sign which told us that it was the path to the Bearcave waterfall". Another car pulled up and parked and we asked them. The two ladies said yes, and it was very, very pretty. It was a short walk, and once we arrived there was only a dribble of water! It has been like a drought around here. The ladies were disappointed. We walked down the stream a little farther to another place the lady said was nice but there was hardly any water flowing.
We will leave tomorrow morning and head to the southwest corner of N.H.
Helen, hugs and good luck with what life is throwing at you right now. Oh, got a note from DS and he said that DGD is not better. Still in pain and not going to school. They will be seeing a G I doctor asap. Thanks for asking. Tammy

Helen, thinking of you and saying a prayer that all is well.
Chris, I'm so glad you & Tammy will get to meet! I got to meet her & her DH when we lived in Louisville and it was so much fun. It felt like we already knew each other, just didn't have a face to put with the name. I enjoyed that so much. Wish we could all get together!
Tammy, I'm sorry to hear that DGD is not improving. Praying for relief and answers --
Betsy, the advanced classes are a lot of work but so worth it when they start college. DS#1 did AP classes in his high school while DS#2 went to an IB school and graduated with an IB diploma. It gives them such a head start when they can skip most of the introductory courses. And paying for those tests is a lot cheaper than tuition! :)
DH & I went out tonight to a new local place that serves mostly burgers and bird dogs. He had a burger, I had a couple of bird dogs. One was the "classic" -- chicken tender, bacon, cheese & honey mustard on a hot dog bun -- and the other had BBQ sauce. Both were good but VERY messy! :o
Lori, I'm browning hamburger with onions and garlic right now to put in my freezer. This weekend I'll make chicken pot pies. I feel like I'm just starting to get back into my regular routine after this summer, and it took a while to get back in the grocery shopping and cooking groove. Sure is a time-saver, though.
Well, I need to get my hamburger bagged up and in the freezer, and get things ready for tomorrow. Then I'm going to spend some time with Tim Gunn since Project Runway starts a new season tonight. :D

Chris (and Ann), I do hope you'll get to meet up with Tammy real soon. DH and I met Tammy and her DH Dave a few years back when they were in Florida (my DH and I have very fond memories of that get together for Sunday breakfast). Tammy and Dave are the kindest people ever and so easy to talk and visit with--we felt like we had just met up with old friends. I am hoping that one day again we will be able to meet!
Tammy, so sorry about your DGD. Please keep us posted on her health. She is in my prayers!
((Helen))
Got an upsetting call from the Greek Squad headquarters. They said my Dell laptop is too old and they can't get parts to repair it! Mind you, they broke it and now they can't fix it! I'm so disappointed in their lack of professionalism and lack of honesty--done and over with them! Since I can't afford a new one right now, it looks like DH and will share the desktop.
Going to be an Art teacher tomorrow--something different and sure to be a fun day. Lori

The geek squad have not served you well at all. Have they offered any compensation for breaking it in the first place? Have fun as an art teacher tomorrow!
Tammy and Chris - sounds like a fun Sunday for you both. Wouldn't it be fun if Ann could make it too?
Nancy, I'm sure you will soon find a routine that works for you.
Betsy, glad you can take the time to get several quotes for the new a/c.
Sara, hope you can get a good night's sleep - sure makes a difference. I usually seem to wake a couple of times in the night but just for long enough to check the time and turn over. Having said that, I hoped I haven't jinxed myself.
Marlene, you hare so good to the guys who worked on the house for you. Hope they appreciate all you do for them.
Elza, it's always nice to find a good, new-to-you restaurant.
Tonight we had chicken salad.
Have a good evening - hugs to all.
