I've frequently had soup served in a bread bowl in a restaurant but have never made it at home. Recently I've seen a nice size round crusty roll that would be perfect for individual servings. What I haven't figured out is...do you toast the bowl before filling it so the soup doesn't cause the bowl to become soggy? If you do, do you spray it with a vegetable oil or brush with melted butter on the inside to give it more of a nice crusty toasty look? Do you add any seasoning or favorite herb or spice to the inside if using the oil or butter?

Angela, thanks for sharing the video on how to make bread bowls. I've often wondered myself how they do it, but never took the time to research it. I just watched the video--short and sweet, right to the point. I will have to give these a try sometime, maybe near the holidays. Thanks again for sharing, and to almonds for asking! Lori
