Good morning friends.
Hot and humid yesterday and the same for today (ugh).
Tammy, So sorry to hear about your friends passing . I enjoy reading about the places you eat at.
Lori, Hope you had another good nights sleep and that your day at school goes smoothly.
Elaine, I know summer is coming to a close when I know you're heading back to AZ.
(((Marlene))) Sorry to hear that you brother Jack has passed away .
Has anyone heard from Lynne? Haven't heard from in her a while and hope she and her family are well.
Thank you for all the congrats on my new job. It's pretty straight forward but as I mentioned I have to get used to it. I'm a bit tired.
Last night was back to school night for youngest DD school. Her teacher is young, nice and getting married next month. After we left the school, DH and I went to our favorite pizza place for pizza and wings.
Waving to all and wishing each of you a great day.
Nancy

Good morning Nancy, Chris and all who come on later. Marlene sure thinking of you today and saying extra prayers for you and the family((()))). Chris I hope your work day will go fast and you can start enjoying your week-end and your HC. Nancy I use to work for the school for 37 years before retiring. It was going to be just until the kids got through but stayed with it because I liked what I was doing. I have company coming today and they are bringing lunch for us. That will be nice as I won't have to cook or bake because the one friends daughter sending baked cooks for us. Well better get my shower over and hair washed so I can smell good when they come--lol. Have a good day everyone and a nice relaxing week-end.

Hot and humid here as well -- but then, it's South Carolina! Mid-90s today. It will probably be October before it gets cool.
No big weekend plans and that is A-OK with me. My sister & I (and our DHs) will be working over at Mama's on Saturday afternoon, planning to clean out her storage room. That includes her Christmas decorations. We'll have the guys there to climb up and get things off shelves -- and deal with the bugs and cobwebs. Yuck. It will be hot but hopefully won't take too long. Of course my Saturday evening plan is South Carolina football! Love this time of year.
Dinner plans for tonight will depend on how I'm feeling at the end of the day. If I'm too tired to go out, DH will probably pick up subs so we can crash at home. If not, maybe a burger and a movie. We'd like to see "Sully" with Tom Hanks. I'm hoping I will not be too tired tonight!

Hello all.
Even though it was a short week it sure feels good that Friday is here.
Dinner will be salmon Caesar salad, edamame, and dinner rolls. I am going to make some chocolate peanut butter rice krispy treats later.
Sounds like my son and his friends may have found a place to rent at the beach. My husband is helping them with the lease. There were some things in there we didn't like but if they resolve that they will take it. I am going to repaint his room and then my high school daughter will take his room as it is downstairs and has it's own bathroom. LOL.
Hugs to all that need one.
Betsy

Thank you everyone for the hugs and prayers. We thought we were prepared for this but when it happens you are still sad. Hope to hear today what they have decided for the funeral and when.
I hope I can squeeze in the mowing today. It is to rain later but hope to get it mowed before it comes.
Had to run to folks yesterday, Dad needed to talk to me. Wondered when I was going to pay the taxes?? We have all month to do that, so told him next Wed. I will do that!! Wish that was all I had to worry about. He has that and his insurance on the place that is all there is for him to worry about.
Probably need to run to town this afternoon as I need to fill my water jugs for the water cooler. I get 5 gallon jugs full. Someday I won't be able to lift them up in the cooler but still can for now. I like good cold water.
Hope you all have a good day. Marlene

Good morning. Thought the temperature overnight was 69 but just realized that I need to replace the batteries in my weather station. It is another sunny day. Yesterday was mostly overcast but we never got the rain predicted.
Marlene, will be thinking of you and your family.
Yesterday it seems I was rather lazy. Spend way too much time here and enjoyed that more than getting any work done. I did manage to get another geraniums cuttings done but still have 8 more colors to do so that is on the agenda for today. Not sure what else except a trip to town. Should water the vegetable garden here and also the community garden. Then of course I could always mow the lawn if I was so inclined. Fat chance that will all get done today.
Dinner tonight will be easy leftover fettuccine with alfredo sauce. Will steam a little more broccoli to add to it.
Have a great day.

Hi! Did say I would check in here today. Have unexpected company and a brief moment while they are outside looking around. A lovely day here though not terribly warm. Apparently thunderstorms are to be looked forward to this evening. At least they are later in the day and we get to enjoy the sun during the afternoon!
Expecting to see my granddaughter & her boyfriend arriving to show us their new boat! Nothing like new toys to get everyone up & about. Brianne got off her nursing shift at 7 a.m. but this boat is been something she's been looking forward to. I expect she will want to go water skiing! Brrr. She'll have to dig out her wetsuit as I'm sure her bathing suit won't be enough at temps around 60°!
Must go now as I hear talking. Enjoy your afternoon.

Hello all ! We made it to New Hampshire. We took it slow this morning and then looked for a place to eat lunch but most of the towns were tiny and had no restaurant-maybe pizza but with tiny parking area so we finally found The Soda Shoppe family restaurant. It was cute, had good food and we could park the RV! DH got country fried steak and I had meatloaf. It was a lot of food plus it was a late lunch so no supper for us.
I doubt we try to go anywhere today.
They charge $3.00 extra to run an ac so we have all the windows open and a fan going.
I checked the weather and it looks clear until Sunday.
We got a message from DS in Amarillo. They were at the ER with our 17 yr old DGD. She may have had appendicitis. She was in pain but the cat scan did really show inflammation. They were waiting on a pediatric surgeon to check her today and so far we have not heard. Prayers appreciated for those of you of a mind to pray! Thanks so much. I'll let you know what we hear.

cooking multigrain rice & using a pint of home canned stewed tomatoes for the liquid. I added a few dashes of Mr. herb & am letting it sit & soak to soften up a bit. i'll re-heat 2 spicy turkey patties i took from the freezer, put on buns & add fresh tomatoes & grated Muenster cheese. don't have any fries left but i think i can micro zap a couple of garden potatoes & a small salad. i have raspberry jello chilling so that with a dot of cool whip should finish off the meal. trying to use what's on hand & keep it simple/. only spent $18.19 on groceries this week! have tons of meats in the 2 freezers so just filling in with the basics i run out of for the coming month. going to see how much i can NOT spend on un-needed groceries for the coming month. I've got lots of broths from beef roasts, turkey & pork roast so i think i may do a "SOUP-A-THON" in the coming 2 weeks & have lots of soups prepped & frozen for the coming winter. it's our favorite winter meal...a good hot bowl of soup, spicy cornbread & sandwich.

Not a very happy person right now with Best Buy/Geek Squad. They broke my mouse in the laptop, but refused to fix it. After months of going round and round, I was only able to get them to agree to pay the postage for sending it out to be worked on. Peanuts next to what I have to pay--$156.00. If I didn't need it, I'd gladly tell them to keep it and what to do with it! It is suppose to be back at the end of the month, but I won't hold my breath--when I took it in "just for a cleaning", I was told it would take 5 days and it took 15, plus they broke the mouse.
I haven't seen a post from Lynne is weeks. I too hope all is well with her and her family--maybe she's just super busy now that she's come out of retirement and returned to the work force.
Nice day subbing, esp. the afternoon in 1st grade where many of the students remember having me as a sub last year in kindergarten. It climbed up to 94* again today, so recess wasn't "cool" in that blazing sun and humidity.
Making some Red Lobster type biscuits to go along with my turkey stew this evening. Take care everyone and have a relaxing evening. Lori

We had a chicken stir fry for supper. Bowl of ice cream for dessert. I made the rounds this morning stocking up on fresh veggies/fruits for the weekend since I can't get out. I also got two books from the library so should be all set. Big hugs to all.

Evening, friends. Tonight's dinner was Tilapia, country fried potatoes and salad. DH was a peach and he cooked dinner without my being aware of it. Tammy, so sorry to hear of your friend's passing. My condolences to your friends family. Marlene, please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your beloved brother. Nancy, glad you got a position that pleases you. Holidays and weekends off to be with your family makes for an ideal family life. Elaine, where in AZ do you go? We go to TX for the winter. Time to walk our little dog.
