Good morning friends.
Happy birthday Ann! Any plans for your special day? :)
We didn't eat Chinese last night. Instead, DH and I had taylor ham and cheese sandwiches.
Oldest DD had a friend sleep over.
Rain in the forecast for today.
At some point youngest DD and I will look for a new back pack.
Meatloaf for dinner tonight (oldest DD request).
Enjoy your day.

Happy Birthday Ann! I hope your day is just what you want it to be! Have fun!
I had to get up early so we can take a day trip. We are going to see some covered bridges, visit the Vermont Marble Museum, and also I hope we have time to go over to a mansion near the museum called Wilson's Castle. Maybe Vermont country store if there is time.
It's looking sunny from what I can see.
DH found a microwave the correct size, and it's only $119.00. He is thinking about getting it and just installing it himself and not worry about the warranty company since we have a $100.00 deductible. We just have to decide where to have it sent to since we are week to a new place!
Here is a big,big secret! My DIL is expecting a baby!!!!!!!! SSSSHHHH. They don't want many people to know, of course who are you all going to tell? lol She told us yesterday when we called to talk to Dean (their youngest) who turned 4 yesterday. Can you believe it? 4 !!! She is due in March-a few days before she turns 40.
We did not have the pork roast as it did not get done in time. We ate a turkey sandwich and I'll put the roast back in the crock pot on low today. A lot of people around were grilling steaks and ribs and it smelled so good around here last night.
Have a nice day whatever you do and wherever you are!

Good morning. 46 and sunny. Didn't do much yesterday except get a big batch of meatballs made. Need to get them into the freezer today. Not sure what else I should do but it should be some of the many things that need to be done outside.
Addison, DD and his SO will be here for dinner tonight. We are having London Broil on the grill, mash potatoes and some sort of a vegetable.
Tammy, congratulations on the expected new arrival. I will be a Great Nana for the 3rd time the first of December. It is a little girl.
Have a great day.
Bet

The girls are 9 and 7. Yes, they will find out the sex. The names she's chosen are Sadie Louise for a girl and Judah for a boy. She's feeling ok, and thinks it will be a boy.
DH checked out ALL the covered bridges within about a 50 miles radius of where we are and wants to drive by all of them! This may be a very long day. There are 2 locations of the Vermont Country store, so if we don't make it today or even this week, we will be fairly close to one location when we are in southern N.H.
The neighbor told DH that the ribs he was cooking lastnight, he bought at a local grocery store and they were on sale for $1.88 a pound so we may go by and get some.
Gotta run! Bye!!

Good morning - No cooking at all for guys. They are all done and moved all their equipment to Chucks place. Now they will really add on to the little church to east of us. This will be there winter project. They done so much work for me, extra they did not have to do. They even tilled the yard they messed up and I got them 50# seed and they seeded it all. So hope it rains. Chuck and Jason took down an old bin we had bean meal in for hogs and a little shed behind and leveled off all dirt and put gravel there, took all the gravel piles I had and spread it every where. Then yesterday sawed off a tree that was where I was mowing behind machine shed. Brought me new barrel to burn where the old one was. Filled in some places with dirt and seeded those. Pulled an old telephone post by hog shed where it was wired too. They just made it look so nice. Chuck said now you can stay in the house and not worry about a thing! That I can do and thank them everyday.
They also brought in a white cabinet DH had in the shed and washed it all up and Jason is making me shelves for it. Will put all my containers for baking in there. Then will get rid of microwave cart that was out there. I have it all washed up and it is in the place where I want it. Will get things done slowly in side of the house I want to do.
Congratulations Tammy! Is so nice to have those Grandkids. I think mine are done with the four but love them all. There is a covered bridge in Winterset IA. also. I have never been there but maybe someday.
Ann Happy birthday to you and hope you have a fun day and do something special.
I am going to see my brother tomorrow. He really ate good yesterday as his son is fixing him everything he likes to eat and he is enjoying it. Day before did not know our niece and things he said did not make sense. So I will go see him tomorrow, might be last time who knows. Just talked to him on the phone and he sounds weak said he is struggling.
Will go do my mowing and spray some weeds that I have been wanting to spray.
Hope you all have a good day. Marlene

Good Saturday morning to everyone. I'm so happy I found this site as I like it more each day. It is so fun to start or end my day by talking to each of you. We are all very lucky and blessed to have each other to visit with. Tammy I would love to visit the Vermont Country Store. It might be dangerous for me as I would want to buy many things. I probably would overbuy thinking I might not see the items anywhere else--lol. Congratulations on a new grandchild coming soon. Have a wonderful day full of fun and good food.
Happy Birthday to you Ann. I hope you have a wonderful day and the sun will shine for you all day.
Marlene all the improvements sound so wonderful and will make it easier for you to now stay in your home.I'm so sorry about your brother and sure hope you can go see him tomorrow. Be careful out there on the highways, being the last summer holiday--they will be so busy with lots of traffic. How did the steaks turn out yesterday? They sound so good makes me hungry for one. Have a great week-end.
I want to bake pumpkin bars but need to go to the store first. So guess they will wait until I'm in the mood to go grocery shopping. Have a wonderful blessed week-end my friends.
Waving hello to one and all.
Sara

Hello All
This is my first posting on the new site. I would periodically post on the Taste of Home website but not on the What's Cooking site. I was Magnabay2 on TOH I am making Gordon Ramsey's Steak Diane for supper. I have tried quite a few different versions but I find his to be the tastiest and also very simple to make.

Happy Birthday Ann!! I hope you've had a great day so far. Many blessings to you my friend!
Came down with a doosy of a cold. I have some meds with me to use when I must go to the dentist (I must premed because of my heart), but I just had to open the bottle and take a few. Smart move--I can already see an improvement--wish I would have started them yesterday!
Traffic was bad last evening coming across the state--a lot of construction didn't help with everyone trying to escape for the holiday weekend. After we arrived, everyone was hungry but nobody wanted to go out to eat. We ended getting Chinese. It was good, but I just couldn't enjoy it.
This morning we went to my favorite orange grove where we ate Cuban baked goods and sipped coffee. Next we went to Ikea, then Home Depot, before we finally stopped for a Mexican lunch. DD just took her good friends and her in-laws some cookies and muffins I baked (I didn't dare go and infect everyone). DH is suppose to be fixing something in the new shower the kids had done and then take measurements inside the bedroom closets, but we see he is sleeping away on the couch--LOL. It's a dark, rainy day and I really can't blame him--I'd love to do the same. However, DD wants to go shopping as soon as she finishes her cup of tea, so I guess that's where I'm headed for.
We've talked about going out for dinner, but nobody has made up their mind, so thinking we'll just wing it later.
Today would have been my DF's 87th birthday and it will be 8 years tomorrow that he passed away. I miss him.
Lori

Ann
You can find it if you google " gordan ramsay's steak diane I am not sure if I am allowed to print the recipe on here. I know on Taste of Home you were not allowed to print a recipe found on website. You could list ingredients and then a website to the recipe. Can someone let me know what the rule is on the board I would be happy to print the recipe for you in I am allowed

Go ahead and print the recipe. Unless we are told different that is the way it will be. Usually if you are copying from a website there will be some credits listed. I usually include them.
