Good morning All,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Hi Dave......
65 this morning and 83 later. Going to be very humid the next couple of days. I will be glad when this humidity leaves. With this old house the doors won't even shut properly.
I guess we are going to tackle one of the gardens today. We are going to start thinning things out. I am sure i will be making several trips to the dump. lol
Sorry i missed your visit last evening Lily.
Hope you all have a good day.............................larry

Good morning. Its 59 but very humid and damp out since we had rain overnight. I got up and shut windows, which looks like it was a good thing since they are wet. Also work for me today. We have a long day of boring training ahead. I am dreading sitting there all day. At least today the training is at the nice hotel with the good food. Tomorrow its at a different one that isn't so good. I wish they were all at this one but I'm sure they do it to save money. One is new and the other hasn't changed the decor in their training rooms since the late 60s early 70s, complete with circular wooden ceiling lights and fake grey rock with black cement between them on the walls. Its like a journey thru time! lol I will go from work to dd's volleyball game. Will be tired tonight.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning everyone. Same weather as Larry and also the same plans for the day. We have to dig many phlox and daylilies today....not to mention maybe a few coneflowers and also a couple butterfly bushes. A couple of them have gotten so large and are falling onto the path way between the gardens. We have people that want some plants but the others will just go to the dump.
Before we start our project this morning, I have to give my brother a ride to his bank in a town 25 miles away. I sure hope that trip won't take too long. I'd like to get most of our work done before it gets too hot since we will be in full sun.
Have a great Monday! Charlene

Good morning. 64 and another beautiful sunny day. We didn't get the showers that were predicted yesterday so spent the day on the deck cleaning and straightening it up. Still lots to do as I could only stay out there for a short time before I was way too hot. It was 111 in the sun. Thankfully there was a breeze that provided some relief. The one greenhouse is down. Now to get all the supplies back to the garage and put away. Sometime today I do need to make a run to the transfer station with the garbage from next door that should have been taken last week. Also need to stop at the pharmacy and pick up meds.
Have a great day.

Good morning. I hear we are to be warm and humid again today. This is certainly getting old! Tomorrow should be more of the same before we begin to cool off for a while on Wednesday. Labor Day Weekend looks to be pretty awesome - in the 70s on Friday and Saturday - in the low 80s on Sunday - upper 80s on Monday. Should be something for everyone!
No plans for the day except staying inside as much as I can. I think I will go out early and clean the bird bath. I meant to do that yesterday but got sidetracked with other things.
Good luck with your garden thinning today Larry and Charlene. Sounds like you will be braving the elements while you work. Glad you got to see Lily, Charlene!
Sandy, you may not have thought yesterday at the beach was a big deal, but you two made memories. There can never be enough of those with our kids. It's nice that the lawn situation is good now for you.
Sorry about your training days, Melissa. Wouldn't it be nice if you were surprised by the training not being boring for a change? At least one facility won't be as bad as the other. Enjoy the good food while you have it!
Waving at anyone I missed while I was typing. I need to get moving and make a plan for my day. Wishing you all a magnificent Monday!

Just popping in to say Hi before I go outside to do some tidying up. It is bright and sunny but the temps are good right now and it's not humid. I shall take advantage of that while I can.
Have a marvelous Monday.

Good morning. Another warm sunny day here. A good day to declare war on weeds. I'll be pulling up Spanish Needle and Autumn Clematis again today. I see Charlene is pulling out coneflowers while I am still struggling to find a place in the yard where they will overwinter. I've planted them 5 times with no luck . Only the Mangus variety survives.
There is still war between Jays and Kingbirds at the birdbath. I need to scrub it out and I better not get dive bombed!
Going to try cutting out more quilt blocks this afternoon. Quilters challenge in sewing group involves using some fabric with big ugly owls on it. Ugh!
Everybody enjoy your day.

Good morning everyone. Had such a good weekend with family. Hate the long drive though the older I get. LOL. They took me to a fleamarket and I found a little ceramic Christmas tree that I had been looking for for years. My mom had one when I was a teenager. He wanted 10 which I thought was a great price but before I could say I would take it he said I could have it for 5. Excellent. No plans as of yet. Have a great day

Good morning everybody. A cooler day today, only 74º at 8:30 & the sun comes & goes.
Getting ready to take Chelsea for a walk. It's been too hot for that lately & then I ill get back to weeding. As you can tell, not working today, but will be tomorrow.
Hearing Bette says she's taking her Greenhouses down always makes me smile. We are on an opposite schedule. Mine will go up in about a month. She uses hers for seedlings I think & I use mine to overwinter & then seedlings in early Spring. Mine goes up in Oct. & comes down about May. I always say to myself, Bette's is coming down, must be almost time to get mine up. LOL

Good morning. 82 right now. I'm taking a quick break from mowing. I actually got half of the front done without stopping and I could have kept going but decided to stop for a bit. I got the sunny part done and thankfully since we have a few clouds it wasn't so bad. Don't know if we are to get rain today but we need it. I'm going to pull the plants from the wheelbarrow. The only one that isn't completely dead is the geranium in the middle. I think I'll pot that up and might set the pots of mums in the wheelbarrow for fall, if they bloom.
I do see we may have a tropical storm come through by the weekend, so we may get rain from that. What I don't like is that by looking at the projected path we may be on it's bad side, which means more wind and possible tornadoes. But that is several days away and they are rarely right this far out.
Better get back to work. The clouds seem to be going so it's going to get hot quick.

Good morning all! What a beautiful morning. No humidity for now. The sun is out and that is how I like it... :)
After spending almost the entire day at the amusement park, I am ready for a quiet day. Later on I will stay with my 2 youngest grandsons so my DD can go to a parent/teacher meeting. Sort of an information meeting, plus to bring in all those schools supplies. You have got to see what those elementary kids have to bring to school. It sure is different from my days. They even expect Kleenex boxes, towel paper, not to mention a half a dozen or dozen of all school supplies. This way the teacher will not have to bother running after the kids when they use up their supplies....wow!
Have a nice day.

Just stopping by while eating some lunch. Our project is going well, but we may quit since it is too darn hot out there in the full sun.
Bette...I have taken some of my geraniums into my GH already. They are looking sad from being too wet this summer and never being able to dry out between rains. Lots of yellow leaves for sure and not blooming as pretty as usual.
Karen...staying indoors sounds like the best plan to escape humidity and heat...good thinking!
Tasty...sounds like we are doing similar projects today.
Gitti...nice to see you visiting here. Enjoy your nice day.
Kay...sorry about your coneflowers. A few years ago I lost many to aster yellows and feared I wouldn't have any the next year. Well, I've pulled out and dug up at least 8 so far today. 3 of them I will share, but I guess I will end up throwing the rest...sure wish we lived closer so you could drive over and get them.
Robin...glad to hear you had a nice weekend. My MIL used to have one of those ceramic Christmas trees that she painted in ceramics in the mid 70s. In later years it was her only Christmas tree. I was wondering...did you ever get rid of that skunk smell in your house?
Stella...glad you had such an enjoyable day with GKs yesterday and today as well. Our school started last week, but they also have to take numerous supplies.
I have to go so waving at the rest of you if I don't get a chance to come back and reply
