Good Morning, The sun is trying to shine, its 63* and going to a high of 81*, I sure hope it isn't humid today, I didn't catch that. Today is a work day, I haven't done much in the last 2 days inside or outside. Yesterday we went to Michelle's to pick up her recycleables, and Ashley came out and she went with us, we had a great day. She has been in school 3/4 of the summer and she starts her last year of college Monday , then in May its the nurse course for 2 years. We stopped at 3 sales, and Ray did OK, could of been a lot worst. Today I will be working outside and before going out I have a few things I want done for sure. I'm going to pick up Gage so he can cut the grass, he starts school Monday and he tells me I would like to cut the grass after school starts, so I'm ok with that. I like to be outside when he is mowing so I can get more done. Here is the deal with the toilet, it was old and every flush the pump would run and run, with this new toilet, water saver, you can flush for 3 times without the pump coming on, therefore the pump isn't running as much. The price of the toilet was well worth it, my electric bill went down the first month. It has helped a lot. I do hope that you can understand this.
Angela, Thank you Mary in Michigan, Did you get everything you want to get done, pretty humid yesterday.
Mary Glad the basement has dried up. Glad the funeral was short, and yes most songs sung at funerals make me cry, hate being a softie.
Lair, Hmm, my schedule is something like yours visit the bathroom, look out window, wash face, brush teeth, turn TV on, make coffee, feed cat, computer on, and drink coffee. Breakfast is much later. You need to pace yourself, so you are not passing out in the yard. Good thing for the neighbor.
Grace cinnamon sound so good, homemade my mouth can taste them almost.
Gkids, I'm with you the humid can go any time. I didn't have a lot of problems with 10 either, still like the old better. Jan Yes why get dressed twice I agree. Hope Allen listened to you again. The mousemobile must be a problem its been in for a week now right. Haven't been to Olive garden in a long time.
Sandy, I didn't realize your hair was so gray!! You work too hard, you need to stop and smell the roses, make a list and only do those things on your list, then relax, play in the flowers, read, etc. The boxes will wait.
well time for more coffee, and look out the window and see where the chickens are, I put some feed out for them way over by the property line, that will keep them busy. Its old mixed bird seed, yesterday I put some watermelon rind and most of that is gone. I think I going to have Jerry ask his Mexican workers if they want chickens. Have a great day and enjoy.

Good Morning, it is 67* and overcast this morning. They forecast sunny skies until afternoon but that isn't what we have got. Very still out there, not a hint of any air moving. I can't say anymore about yesterday because I posted all my little brain can recall. Just busy out there and got plants watered inside. I did sleep real good last night once I got to bed. I used to get tired about 11 pm but lately I am not tired until almost 12. I have tried laying down but it is still the same so I have been staying up a little later. Maybe that will change when we set out clocks back. It was good to hear from Sandy yesterday. I have been thinking about cleaning the house room by room, taking things out and cleaning. Then washing everything as I put it back but after reading her post it just sounds like too much work.. Well, I hear Tim is up in the other room. He gets his pump and tubes taken out today. Poor guy has been so sick this time. I hope they never do that again. I honestly don't think he would go through it again. Well, I will be back if I have anything interesting. Until then, you all have a good day. Later

Good morning! Haven't posted for a few days. Not feeling up to snuff & if that isn't enough my eyes are really bugging me. So, sadly need to spend less time with my IPad & Kindle. However, I have been quickly reading about your daily goings on. What a busy bunch you all are. Certainly put me to shame!
My little pea brain isn't doing well with the remembering this morning. 😊 I was going to say I also didn't have trouble with Windows 10. Not always fun having to learn a new system but this one isn't too bad. Then, there is always Google if necessary & your friends here who may be able to help should a snag occur.
Lair, please be careful outside. You frighten me with your various incidents out in the yard. Thank goodness your neighbours keeping an eye out for you.
We're going to have a comfortable day with temps around mid 70's. I'm not sure about being outside though as the pesky mosquitoes have envaded the place & can they bite! Sure takes the pleasure out of being outdoors!
Do have a lovely day. Will be checking back in later.

Morning. Well I will give this one more try. I had a long post ready to go and the "dang" puter shut down on me and of course lost it all. Supposed to get to 80 today but not as humid. Got up this morning, went downstairs put sheets in the washer, came up, ate breakfast, went down and got the sheets and hung out on the line..love the smell of sheets on the bed after being dried outside, then deadheaded a few plants, gave the hanging plants their drink this morning and came here to see what everyone was up to today. That was 1 1/2 hrs. ago. So here I am again. It's hard to believe next week-end is Labor Day. To me that's the official end of summer . Ok Carol when you say the pump runs, does that mean you have a well and not city water? Got an e-mail from HP that the new computer will be here sometime tomorrow. Wow, that certainly is fast. Not sure how soon I'll get it hooked up as I have to wait for ds to do that for me. Just going to wave to everyone and get this posted before I lose this as well. Have a great day.

Good morning all Went in this morning for the start of the 2nd round of chemo. BUT didn't happen. Allen's white blood count was too low for chemo. So instead he got a dose of Neutragin(not sure on spelling) to raise the blood count & goes in Wednesday am for recheck & if ok will have chemo the same time.
Allen's boss is having an 'affair' tonight with a cruise on the river, then a dinner. We weren't planning on going but I guess we will be tonight.
Not much else new on this end-- so you all take care

After noon All . Not sure what the day will bring. Carol I do a list of what I need done for every day but that sometimes get put to the way side when I get last minute calls asking if I can give DD a ride . I'm averaging twice a week to her house which leaves me three days for daily house chores and of course there is always that wrench that get thrown in like yesterdays squirrel chase . Today is calling the insurance company to have my auto insurance lowered , calling foot doc for consults and cleaning out the car. That is in between the cat box , dishes ,making & packing lunch for 2 days & getting my crafts together for something to do while at work . I'm tired already and I didn't even get the rest of the lawn mowed this week . The laundry is off the line and I have to put that away .I want to try and go threw one more box today but that might not happen . have a blessed day Sandy k Got to go feed the animals now

Sandy I'm tired just reading your post.
Ashley came over and helped Grandpa with some signs that he is going to use on his birdhouses. She also helped me set my phone up on the car, Bluetooth. Now I can answer the phone without stopping. Just have to remember how!! LOL
Yes I live out in the country and have a well. Love it here, don't want to live in town, a development, apartment. Just hope my body holds out, big yard lots of flowers, and critters. Share the yard with the deer, birds, etc.
Have a great afternoon.

Hi All, I got the lawn mowed and a bucket of crabgrass pulled, so that was enough for me. I see I now have two female hummingbirds today, so I moved a second feeder to the other side of the morning glories. I hope they can both sit and eat if they don't see each other.
The water still continues to drain into the sump pump pits in our basement and also at the neighbors. I'm watching Lucky again while they're gone for a few days. The pumps aren't pumping as frequently, but the dehumidifiers are now running. The neighbor has a drain hose on his dehumidifier so it empties itself, but they also still have water trailing through every room of their basement. Our basement has damp spots that need to be dried up; there is no actual water on our floors anymore. The newer basement addition has the sump pump and 5 gal. pit which is 2 feet lower than the old basement. We also had a drainage tile system installed under the cement of the newer basement floor. The water flows into the pit or out a tile that's buried in the lawn. The tile takes the water right to the storm drain. We learned the hard way back in 2013. The tile to the pit now has a plug in it to restrict the amount of water coming in. If this plug wasn't in the tile the basement would have flooded again; 2 sump pumps can't keep up. This flow restriction plug was the solution.
I talked to my BIL yesterday at the funeral; he had 10.5" of rain in his rain gauge. He said he gave up trying to get the water out. He'll just deal with the cleanup when the water quits coming in. He lives about 10 miles west of Decorah. That's about 30 miles from us.
My SIL and BIL both drive school buses. They said that the school buses can't pick up some of the Dorchester kids because the roads and bridges are washed out to the north. I have no idea how those kids get to school. I'm guessing the parents have to drive them or they are staying with people on this side of those roads and bridges. Decorah couldn't even start school on Tuesday. Some of the Luther College guys (football and soccer players) are helping with the town cleanup. Luther was to have orientation for new foreign students and new freshmen students, and moving in this week with the classes starting next Wednesday. That should have been a wet mess.
The new retention pond definitely did it's job. DH said he drove by it today and it's just about empty; there were just a few small puddles left. Thank God this pond was empty when this massive rain hit. It definitely prevented the mass flooding that we had in 2013. This big rain could have been so much worse.
I was looking in the backyards of all the houses on this block. ALL OF THEM have a downspout that empties into their backyards, which is what drains down to us and the neighbor just above us. If all of these people would put a plastic drain tube on their downspouts and reroute it to the streets in front of their own houses, I don't think the two of us would have the water problems that we do.
That's the extent of my day. I have plenty of aches tonight.
