Good morning All...............hi Dave.............
55 this morning and only 73 later but at least the sun will be out. Should be a beautiful day to work outside.
I sort of overslept this morning. Didn't get up till 5. LOL Must be the cooler temps. I see my cousin had 42 in International Falls this morning. I do look for an early frost this year.
Thanks to everyone that posted on the before and after thread of the new bed that Charlene and i started. It was work but very gratifying. Can't wait to see it next year, once everything gets its "roots".
Have a good Friday All......................larry

Good morning Larry and all. Glad it's Friday these weeks just fly by. DD has one more week then moves to her dorm next Saturday. Can't I keep them young a little bit longer? I have plenty to do to keep me busy so hope I won't miss her to much. Still very hot and humid here they say the same for next week also. We did get some rain yesterday and last night. No lawn mower yet this is the worst looking lawn in the neighborhood! It's going to take me a whole day to get into shape. Hopefully it won't be to hot out. Have a good day.

Good morning
52 this morning so I have a sweater on. Hard to believe a person would need a sweater so soon after the horrible heat we had all summer. The weatherman was saying we are going to have a colder and snowier winter than normal. I will not be bothered by the colder except for the higher heat bill but am not looking forward to the snow part of it.
We have an 80% chance of rain tonight so after work I will try to get the yarrow dug up and moved to the alley. I know I have something else I want to put back there too but can't remember at the moment.
I will probably only work 6.5 hours today.

Good morning all. It's a very pretty morning today. Sun is shining and everything seems calm and peaceful until I open the patio door and then, although still quiet, it is so noisy with the sounds of nature.
Only thing on my agenda today is breakfast with some good friends. While I'm in town, guess I'll pop into the grocery store for a few needed items.
Wishing you all a fabulous Friday.

Charlene, we are in Eastern Ontario, on the northern side of Lake Ontario.
Hubby started his affair with golf as a caddy when he was still at school as a way to earn some pocket money. It was a classy kind of place and being a mere caddy, he was not allowed to play - ever. However, shortly after we moved to Canada, he took the game up himself and once our son was old enough, I decided I'd best give it a try or I'd never see hubby. That was close to 35 years ago!
Now, in retirement, it fills a lot of time for him during the summer months. I still play but nowhere near as much as hubby. I spread my interests!

Good morning. 65 this morning and was raining when I got up but now the sun is coming out. Got almost 1/2" of rain over night. Didn't do a whole lot yesterday. Went to Walmart shopping and was hoping to pick up some potting soil for spring on sale. They didn't have anything to do with lawn and garden in the place. In fact I am not quite sure what is going on there. All of the shelves were rather bare and they are doing inventory. This seems like a strange time to be doing inventory.
Since it is wet outside this morning I am going to spend it in the kitchen. I want to get a batch of sauerkraut going and do some much needed cleaning there. Addison is coming sometime today to visit but not sure just when.
Have a great day.

Good morning. We are supposed to be more comfortable today with the humidity lessening as the day goes on. That will be nice. I guess we could have some rain tomorrow and be a little humid again, but overall, our forecast looks pretty good.
I have a doctor's appointment in a little bit. Just a check-up with the primary care doc. Things should be okay there since I am not having any problems right now. I'm charging my Kindle because going to this particular doctor can be time consuming. He spends time with each of his patients and often gets behind - sometimes WAY behind. I am also going to return the walker that he loaned to DStepD a few years ago. DM remembered that and recently tried to return it to the doctor when she was here in town. Unfortunately, that was the day she wasn't feeling very well so I told her to leave the walker with us so we could return it. If we don't want to make another trip, I need to take it with me today.
If the day turns out to be as nice as the meteorologists are suggesting it will be, I am going to want to spend some time outside when I get home. I need to finish up marking the flowers I want to save for seed, so that will be job #1.
Suppose I should get moving now. Have a fantastic Friday!

It's a rainy morning here. Out here on the plains we never say we don't like rain! I was going to work in the flower beds, but will go to the kitchen and make alfredo sauce for the freezer. I don't even remember what I bought that big container of half and half for-probably one of many recipes I saved and will never find time to make. The folder I saved them in got so full I hid it in a cabinet, and I seem to have started a new on in a weak moment. Never call me organized.

Good morning everyone. A brisk, but nice morning and promises of a nice day. Sorry to say it is supposed to rain again tonight and into tomorrow. I hope it isn't as much as the last rain since many are still trying to clean up after that. We were fortunate to not have any damage from it other than a little water in the basement and a few drowned plants.....plants can be replaced. As of yet I have only heard of 1 death from the flooding earlier in the week.
This morning DGS's girlfriend is meeting me at my shop to look at a cabinet I want to give them for their house they recently bought. I think it is just what they are looking for in their laundry room. It needs painting, but she is a talented gal and can do that.
Sandy...hope that guy can finally get your mower fixed...how frustrating!
Kathy...I've heard several predictions of a colder and snowier winter than most. Of course, they said that prior to last winter and it was one of the mildest winters I remember.
Tasty...I have the door here open and was enjoying the sounds of nature (birds) and all of a sudden 2 cats got into a fight....not a peaceful noise at all. Thanks for reminding me where you are. I thought Canada, but not sure where. Glad that your husband and you both enjoy golf and it is something you can do together. Do the winters get long? I guess I remember you talking about curling and so many volunteer jobs, so I am guessing those occupy your winter months.
Dave..we probably won't see that 70º until noon or later. Right now it is 52º.
Robin...I hope you have a fun weekend with your sister. See you when you get back.
Bette...our WM usually empties out the garden section in Sept and then fill it with Christmas....they used to do Halloween stuff there, but now they put that somewhere else in the store. Glad we grabbed lots of dirt when it was $5.
Stanette...hope you have a fun weekend as well. I didn't know you were a golfer. Hope you can stay cool.
Karen..good luck at your Dr appt. Is your UTI better since your on antibiotics? I also am deciding what seeds to save for next year.
Val...we usually are happy to get rain, but his is the wettest summer on record here. At least our yard is still green which is very unusual for this time of year. I laughed at your organized remark...no one can accuse me of being organized either...lol.
Have a great day everyone. Charlene

Good morning. 50 here going to 72 today with sunny skies. It should be a nice day to work outside, if it wasn't for the mosquitoes. Yesterday was a day I've been waiting for to be out there, 64 and breezy, and they were still awful. When I looked down and had 6 on my leg I decided I would just say the heck with it and go inside. I made a zucchini cake instead and read my book. It is so annoying that they drive you in to your house. Our summers are too short anyway, then to be bombarded with bugs sure ticks me off! I could have put on bug spray but I was too mad! lol I even had one land between my eyes, and theres no way I'm spraying bug spray there! Today we plan on finishing the new flower bed I started since dh is home to help me. I will spray the bug spray and get it over with. I hate to say it but I'm ready for a good heavy freeze to take care of the mosquitoes.
I do have 2 home visits this morning so won't be home until about lunch time. Dh is going to go do a load of wood this morning as well.
Valerian-I am so not organized either, so its ok! We have an old 3 ring binder we had put recipes in from magazines, friends, etc. It is in serious need of help. The pages are falling out, things I had taped in have lost their sticky and are falling everywhere, and the pockets are full of recipes to be included. Its a someday project, tho that day never seems to come! BTW, I like your red valerian avatar. I grew that for the first time this year. It was so pretty but its only an annual here.
Sounds like many have fun weekend plans. Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Good morning everyone! It's a hot and humid one here. I just put the A/C on so that the house does not get too warm. I don't know if it's age or what....but I can't tolerate the heat like I used. Strange......how in Greece the heat did not bother me.....lol, lol... ;)
Yesterday, even though it was wet, I decided to cut down my weigela bush that is growing in the front of the front flower bed. Way too big. I cut the branches, etc. into smaller ones, and then sawed the 'trunk' down so I could remove the roots.....No way was the stump going to move. I dug a trench around it, and cut some of the roots for easy remove....no way. At the end I was soaken wet, water dripping from my face, and my back just gave up. It won't be done today...too hot. I'm debating whether to remove the jasmine bush as well. Guess one can say that over-planted my front flower beds.
Looks like a trip to the grocery store is in order. I need some yogurt. Love the stuff and it's on sale. I never got a chance to do the linen closet yesterday, so maybe today.
Have a fun day everyone!
