Morning again, Its a wet cloudy start to this day, its a very humid 74* going to a high near 80*, but humid. We got about 2 inches of rain in a short time, glad it moved on. But it still can rain according to the guessers. All next week it is to be humid, with highs in the 80's. Will have to do a lot of work tomorrow and the weekend before it gets hot again. I did get my electric bill, I was afraid to open it, but it wasn't bad, $140.05. With the air running just about every day for a month, not bad. It so helped the bill when we replace the toilet upstairs and we will be replacing the one downstairs. Yesterday was a good day, got everything done and it all went good. The only thing we ate and by the time we got home, I was so tired had to take a short nap. Not from the running but from getting up so early yesterday Today its another busy day, going into GR, need bread, will stop at Sams club and get a few things, Menards, we will eat and I know being Thursday some sales. I just need to keep Ray at bay and not let him buy so much. Hard to do.
gkids, We all need a enjoyable day and not do much. I need to do some baking, but its been too hot to have the oven on.
Lair, Did you get all that rain, that Mary and Charlene got? We do need breaks sometimes I break longer then I work. Glad to hear Tim felt pretty good yesterday. Yes, we got lots of time before winter, but oh dear the months just fly by.
Grace, what else is there to do but take a nap on a raining day. If I slept 2 hours, I would be up all night. As it was I was up for a while last night. My cat has gotten a lot of mice, but with the open fields around us, I'm sure I have more.
Mary, OMG that is a lot of rain, and no where to go. Water in the basement is so hard to deal with. Only once here and that was enough.
Charlene, Glad you didn't have problems with water in the basement.
Maryinmi, I didn't see that on the news about the young gal, very sad. Mary I hope you get everything done that you want to. When is the sale?
Well I have chased the chickens twice already this morning, Matt called last night and was so sorry, he won't be home until the first. You should see his yard, garage door wide open, things all over, looks like he left for a emergery not a trip. Windows open in the house with no screen, just a big mess. If he ends up loseing the house we will buy it, will take a long time to clean up his mess. Enough of that Have a great day and don't work too hard.

Hi Carol and All, We went up to the wake last night. OMG!!! I haven't seen this guy in many years. I usually only saw him when he drove by. Jerry told me he had lost weight, but I didn't expect to see a 69 yr. old guy that looked like 90. He must have weighed about 150 lbs. I saw a recent picture of him with his grandkids and didn't realize it was him. I was just shocked! I will always remember him as he was when we got married. His oldest daughter just moved to N. Carolina in June. She said it's beautiful, but it's only been under 90ยบ once since they moved there and it's very humid. Not a place I would live.
The funeral is at 11 today at the funeral home. So we have to be there in an hour. They said there will be a small lunch at his church afterwards.
The EX sat back in the corner with her now husband and her one aunt and the few relatives from her family that showed up. I didn't talk to her or even acknowledge her. What could I say? She will never have my sympathy.
I'm babysitting Lucky again, but I admit, he is looking much better than the last time I took care of him.
The water is still being pumped out of the neighbors house and ours has dried up considerably. We will now turn on the dehumidifier.
I'll check back later after the funeral.

Good Morning Ladies, it is 68* and sunny this morning but it feels real humid. Carol, I wasn't waiting for you to open, I have a few things to do in the morning before I am ready to post. First thing is start coffee and turn on the TV. While coffee is perking I have to find my glasses and get them on right side up. Next thing is get my teeth in and get the jaw moving. By that time the coffee is ready so I pour a cup and carry it to my spot. After that I have to wipe up the spots where I have spilled coffee all along my path. Then there is my full body workout with putting on the compression stockings. After that I have to figure out where my oxygen hose is and how to get myself free and untangled without choking or hanging myself. By that time I need a break so I wake up the computer and see what I missed overnight. Of course the cats are here needing pets to start the day. While doing that I pet the cats and that gets my fingers working so I might be able to post later. So if you see I am online it doesn't mean I am waiting for you to post it only means I have found the on switch for the laptop and I am in the process of adding my spare parts like Mr Potato Head.
Yesterday was such a strange day. I started out very pleasant but by 10 am it was so humid and our forecast high of 78 turned out to be 89* and just plain miserable. I didn't turn the A/C but I did have every fan on full blast. At the end of the day I had not done anything worth mentioning and ended up Andy got busy and didn't have time to come over either. Today I have high hopes to get a lot done so I have an interesting post tomorrow. Not that it will be interesting if I do but we can hope.
Carol, I am not sure what kind of toilets you have that lower your electric bill. Mine don't even have a plug on them. I checked and can't find a cord anywhere. I think mine are the lever type. I don't like the electric flush type because when I am done and it flushes it scares me and I have a little accident and have to use it again. NO heavy rain here like up north, we just had a little over an inch so we are good with rain. I think your chicken problem could be solved with a big pot of soup. The guy sounds like a nut case. Who goes on a trip and just lets his animals run free? Have a good day and good luck with keeping Ray in line.
Mary Lynn in MI, Are you ready for your sale? I hope you sell lots and I am thinking you should invite Carol and Ray, no maybe just Ray, to improve sales. Sounds like he would have a good time in your garage.
Gkids, I hope you have a nice day for baking. I am thinking about some carrot cake. I don't bake much but I do make a good cake. I would bake more but I am the only one who eats it and I sure don't need to eat more.
Mary Bwatcher, sounds like some downpour you guys had. I hope everything dries out quick. I see there are still a lot of flood warning for your area. Be careful when out and about.
Jan, what are you up to today? Did you get more than inch of rain down your way? I heard Asbury got it a lot more than we did out here. Grace, I like your Avatar, he looks just like the cat I used to have and also like the cat I have that lives on the roof. He lives on the roof in the summer but comes inside in the winter. He is very timid around people and other cats.
Angela, what is up in your neck of the woods? I didn't see much of you for a while. Hope all is well.
Sandy, where are you? You have been missing for a while now and we are getting concerned. Drop in and let us know what's up. Snow, I hope you had a relaxing time camping. We have not heard from you since so maybe you are still out there with a dead battery on you computer. Should we put out a Snow alert?
Alma, glad you found us. Is your new place feeling like home yet? It may take a while. Leroy, hope today finds you doing well and busy at work. Glad you like the job.
Janet, what are you up to? Let us know if you are above water.
Well, I'm back, I had to go and help Tim get himself wrapped in cling wrap for his shower. He does good on his arm but his chest he needs help. Better wrap this up too. I hope I didn't miss any one, sorry if I did, but you all have a great day! Lair

Afternoon everyone. Did my shopping and errands this morning, brought home lunch for us, ate and now need to sit and "rest" for awhile. ;) The last time I looked it was 77 but pretty humid today but after today the humidity is to go way down and maybe even start to feel like fall they say. I'll gladly let the humidity go down but not sure I'm ready for it to feel like fall yet. We got more rain again early this morning. But no flood warnings out for us here.
Carol I'm wondering how the electric bill goes down by replacing the toilets. Can you enlighten me? Our water bill did go down when we replaced both of our old toilets for the new ones that use very little water with each flush. I never did get to do any baking yesterday, had a phone call from a friend I hadn't talked to in awhile that lasted a long time and by then I wasn't in the mood to bake. We have an electric stove and it evidently is very well insulated because it never heats the house up and there is very little heat that radiates when you go near it so that is why I bake during the summer months.
Lair I so enjoyed your description of your morning routine, you do have a way with words....
MaryinMI, hope your sale goes well and everything gets sold. That's a lot of work.
Bwatcher, glad the water has receded for you and now can start to dry out. Luckily we never got the hard rains that your area got.
I need to put the puter to sleep and do some cleaning here at the desk and clear off some old papers. DS "twisted" my arm yesterday and had me order a new HP desktop from HP for a lot less then I could find one around here. Should be here by the first of next week. My printer I'm using now will not support Windows 10--this ole brain will have to learn a new operating system as well--UGH, so I will have to switch the printer out and put the new one in here when ds connects my new puter. This printer will work great in the other room for just copying so I'll hang on to it. This program is Windows 7 and my computer is fast dying, it shuts down and starts back up quite often, so I couldn't drag my feet any longer hoping it would just be fine for awhile yet.
Have a great afternoon and evening everyone.

Hi All, We're home from the funeral. It was very nice. It was a small crowd, so the funeral home was perfect. They only played two songs, but they were perfect and just what their dad would have wanted. The kids said this service was all about their dad. The first song was Green Onion by Booker T. and the M.G.'S. It was his favorite song and they heard it constantly when they were growing up. The second song was what made me cry; Goodnight Sweetheart Goodnight by The Spaniels. I think it was kinda therapeutic for the guys to rehash 'the good old days' when they would get in trouble together, drink together, wreck cars together, and just enjoyed the 60s. Me, I think I need to go work in the flower bed and do some remembering also. I didn't get to know him like these guys all did.
My BIL from Ridgeway came to the funeral and said he had 10.5 inches of rain from this last storm. He has water in his basement (not many who don't) and gave up trying to do anything. He said he'll worry about cleaning up when the water finally quits coming in.

Hi all--this is a day to mark in history!!! I didn't get dress until about 20 minutes ago. Normally I am dressed within half an hour of getting up. But then again I have an eye apt at 3 so why dress twice.
I sure wish this damned weather would straighten out as I am tired of itchy eyes & for a headache all week. Hate them things.
Allen went out to the sale barn again this week--same orders as last week--DON'T bring anything home anything alive.
Yesterday was sure a humid day. We had an errand at the court house then stopped at the Olive Garden for lunch --we both had soup, salad & bread stix. Then on the way home I ran to Durango to see if the recycle container was emplied--YAHOO it was so we came home & took all our collection down. Also stopped at the repair shop to see about the mousemobile. Mike said he is going t try 'hot wiring it & see if that works and if that will be the fix.
Well I better get a move on--have a good day

Hey all. I'm back. I went out this morning and picked the garden. After I hauled it all in I watered the house plants. When I finished that I went out and picked raspberries. Didn't get half of those picked when my neighbor from across the back yard woke me up. He helped me into the house and we talked a while. I am OK but I guess I just overdid it out in the sun with all the humidity. I'm all good now after I went downtown and bought some pork steak and made myself some lunch. I'm going to go back out soon since the sun is covered now and it seems cooler. Won't be out long though.
Gkids, You will get along fine with Windows 10. It didn't take me more than a few minutes to figure out the changes and I have been on Vista for over 10 years. Your son is smart to make you get a new one now before it up and dies like mine did. I got a HP tower and it works with my HP printer. At least I think it does but I have not tried it yet. You will enjoy the new computer after you get over the shock of how small the new tower is. I have room on my desk now where the old tower was but I'm guessing I will fill it full of crap very soon. I'm off to "wage war on weeds" for a while. Later

It's me I'm here I just had to figure out a way to get out of these dang boxes lol. I'm still trying to figure out how a person can end up with so much stuff in a period of 36 years . I have the dining room half cleaned out of boxes and the living room I got a path to get to the dining room now :-) . For those who don't know I moved out of my bedroom which is a 12' x 16' room packed EVERY thing in boxes and stored it in the dining room so I could repaint (which isn't done yet). Then took and boxed every thing out of Davids old room (9'x12')and it's now stored in my living room and I did repaint that room . I'm now moved in and sleeping great . But now I have to go threw all this mess and sort what goes to DD , what needs to sell and what needs to go to thrift store. while I was boxing things I also took every thing from the smallest bedroom(7'x8') and turn it into my dressing room (which is also now done). The problem is I have to do this in between running DD places because she has no car & other house hold duties that have to be done weekly .Needless to say its a slow process and what was I thinking in the first place . The perk is I am finding things that have been packed away that I had forgotten I even had lol.I now have just three rooms to contend with cleaning out and I'm not feeling so over whelmed with it . So Lair now you know why I have been MIA :-). This morning I had the pleasure of wearing my first cuppa tea when Bella dog discovered a squirrel on my cupboard . I went out to see what she was fussing about and the lil sweet heart decided to run /jump past me into my old room . Of course Bella was in fast pursuit and good thing the cup board was there to catch me when she took one of my legs out from under me . What U tube video that would have made hahaha. I finally got Bella out of the room shut the door by the kitchen and open the door that goes out to the side deck .I'm really not sure if the squirrel was smart enough to figure it out but I have locked the inside door and left the outside one open for the night in hopes he makes his great escape out of my house . I just pray that in the morning when I go to check that any other critters have not decided to move in too. have a good night All & God Bless Sandy K
