Welcome to our Thursday picture thread. We invite everyone to post the picture or pictures of their choice.
Today I have a couple of zinnia pictures. Got these out late this year but they are worth the wait.

They sure are worth the wait Steve,,,,,stunning. Ili, you always have gorgeous blooms to share. Rick's Ligularia is getting huge. Charlene, how is Larry's doing? Too bad the blooms are sterile.

Steve, your zinnia flowers are beautiful and totally worth waiting for. Ili, you have some really beautiful blooms there; the pink looks so delicate and the mixed color bloom is gorgeous. Donna, that Ligularia plant is really doing well, it has lovely large leaves and spectacular flower spires. My neighbor has some lovely flowers planted by their fence of many colors. This is one of my Scrub Jays by my volunteer sunflowers

Steve-Those candy stripe zinnias sure make me want to plant some more of those. Ili-That Mexican petunia is really pretty but those MGs are just stunning. Donna-I really like that ligularia. I had wanted to plant some of them, but when I went to the plant sale the one I wanted was sold out. I opted for another choice. Once I got it home and looked at the tag it said full to part sun. I planted them in areas that get too much shade I guess b/c they have done nothing. Will be moving them this fall. Mary-Those yellow blooms really stand out. I had lots of volunteer sunflowers too but the finches have eaten them as they've ripened (which I guess is why I have them in the first place tho!). My coral fountains amaranthus have done well in my big pot (you got it right Charlene). A few more trip pictures if you aren't sick of them yet! Chippewa falls. This man made dam now flows under a bridge/road. This area used to house a grist mill over 100 years ago. You could kind of see where the water had been diverted back then to power the mill, but the water wheel was long gone by the mill house. The water came out a neat looking tunnel. Unfortunately the trees where kind of blocking it so hard to see how hard that water was coming out (quite hard). It turned it to a lovely gentle river downstream, the rolling forks river. If you had been in charge of the dam you could have lived here with your family. These were the only 2 windows in this house.

The brown fence beside my driveway. I built it last summer. the posts were already there from a previous fence and I painted the boards then after someone attached the horizontal boards so that things were lined up right,I attached the boards. It is fun building fences!Best to paint the boards first!! I learned that many years ago.

Steve...those are beautiful zinnias....I may have to get me some of those. Ili...lovely petunia and I also really think those MG are gorgeous! Donna...I just went out and took a picture of Larry's in bloom after seeing your picture here. His one in full sun is blooming, but the foliage isn't as pretty as yours in shade. He did move part of it to shade last year, but that one doesn't look like it is going to bloom this year. Mary...what pretty flowers by the fence. Does your neighbor realize that so many of her pretty flowers are on the internet...lol. Melissa...you are smart to put that amaranthus in a container. I will next year. Love the MN pics. That one picture of the Rolling forks gentle stream reminds me of Root river at Forestville where I walked often growing up. Donna...thanks for the info on the flowering fern. I used to grow a plant called Incarvillea Cheron in containers and loved it. I guess I forgot about it, but may have to put it on my list along with your pink variety for next year. The white trumpet flower is the Incarvillea Cheron...never mind...I guess the smartest woman in the world deleted those pictures in her attempt to be more organized...lol How about 3 reasons why I like the Tropical Milkweed flower. 1) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 2) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 3)

Mary...we were posting at the same time. I LOVE your fence...how impressive that you built it! Great job! Those impatiens look lovely there for sure. Charlene Edited to add...I DID find a picture of my Incavillea cheron when looking for a butterfly picture to share on Rick's thread. It is a poor picture of the plant, but not bad of the flower

So many beautiful flowers and photos today. Melissa, great shots from Chippewa falls; the river downstream is really lovely, but I'll pass on living in the little house. Mary you did a wonderful job on the brown fence and I love your hanging impatiens baskets.
