Guess "they" were not kidding about the tornado warnings! We are currently in the basement because the warnings are saying the threat is especially treacherous, with many tornadoes on the ground. :-S

Today the high was low 80's. Not so humid today. Yesterday was really humid. It felt so stormy out but it went north of us. We could get some rain tomorrow. Seems this summer hasn't had nice weather at all. Either hot or humid and so much wind. It will soon be fall. I don't know where the summer has gone.

Hotter today than the past couple days. Could use some rain which I believe is headed this way from Karen's stormy weather. Charlene, I wouldn't want to trade weather with you. Sorry you are getting so much rain.

We just finished 3 lovely days with no rain when bam! The humidity hit me in the face this morning. Luckily my yard helper got here and did another whacking off of perennials that have just had it this summer. Hostas, caradonna salvia for the second time, ivy gone crazy, day lilies blooming again after being cut back just two weeks ago. . . Then this afternoon there were tornadoes one county east of us, one county north of us, and one county south of us! There is another one in effect right now northeast of us. We got lucky and dodged a bullet here in central Indiana! More storms heading our way. . . this has been the rainiest summer I can remember, and I am finished with it! Hope it is finished soon, too! LOL But Sunday promised high temps, high humidity and more storms. . . . sigh. . . .

Last evening tornadoes were all around us, but went north and south ...they did touch down not far away...and there is lots of damage (NE Indiana...) at least 8 tornadoes touched down in Indiana. Several cities had buildings flattened. One city (Kokomo) had a Starbuck's collapse, but no one was injured! Weather report says that we could have more today, into tonight!

I am in NW Ohio also and another one watching the skies last night. Most of the tornados were south of us. The closest was just 10 miles south. I heard on the news this morning there were 37 tornados sighted in NE Indiana, sighted, not necessarily on the ground and 20+ in NW Ohio. It is very humid again today and they are saying we could see the same weather patterns again this afternoon and tonight.

Since you are west of me, I was thinking about you all evening, hoping all was well for you. I was glad when I was here earlier and saw that you had been online recently. I'm not sure what to expect for later today. This time yesterday, we were fine. My sister lives in Norwalk and said she was watching a weather spotter doing a live video for the CBS affiliate. I guess we had a nasty black cloud overhead that was freaking her out a bit. Supposedly, the storm was following the river, and we are less than two miles from there. I had heard that a funnel cloud was over our town, but I don't think it touched down. Guess that is what she was watching? Keep your eyes to the sky later on and stay safe!

I haven't figured out yet just where everyone lives but hoping that everyone stays safe with all this horrible weather around. I know there was also a tornado in Southern Ontario - haven't heard if much damage was done there . Today is dull and humid - thank goodness the sun isn't showing its face or it would be awful.. As it is, we survived a round of golf this morning.

It was in the mid 60’s early this morning and a lovely time to sit and have coffee on the patio and watch the birds after I cleaned all the hummingbird feeders and made them some fresh nectar. I was so happy to see the Scrub Jay’s are back again getting peanuts from the backyard.
It’s now 92° with blue skies and lots of sunshine and our daytime highs are expected to be around 95°. That’s above average as usually our daytime temperatures are around 81° in Portland, Oregon for this time of the year.

What a difference a day makes. We got heavy rain this morning and more expected overnight. The grass is turning green again.
