Hi !
Chris, I am so sorry you lost your aunt. I think aunts are special to us gals, and I still miss mine. They are all gone now.
Lori, I don't blame you for being shook up about the girl on your lawn. Hope she is ok now.
Elaine, lucky you to have a clothesline! I love the smell of clothes when they have been hung outside.
Tasty, a lot of the gift shops we have been in have jams, etc and the other day I saw something new to me. They were called mustard pickles. It looked a little like hot dog relish to me. Have you seen it or made any?
Marlene, I hope the foot is getting better. Good for you for wearing it even though it's uncomfortable.
We had a full day. We left at 8:15 and drove all around the western half of P.E.I. We stopped at many lighthouses/ The one stop I wanted to make wasa place called the bottle houses. A man collected empty bottles and then built small buildings using them and concrete (or some kind of mortar). There are 3 buildings to see, and the lawns are all landscaped beautifully.
We stopped for lunch, and had leftovers for dinner when we got back home around 7:30. We talked to the owners about the racket on Saturday night. They found out that it was not the racetrack that had the music so late, it was some other place down the road. A motorcycle group from Quebec were
here. The police were called several times but they still carried on their party. When we got back here to the RV, we could hear the race cars again. The owner said tonight they were having a practice but the noise would stop "shortly" It continued for about an hour. I nearly have a headache from listening to that horrendous sound!
Today the weather so gorgeous-sunny and warm and a breeze, not as windy as yesterday. Yesterday we drove to a series of shops and older buildings related to Anne of Green Gables. We drove to Charlottestown by way of a cheese farm and picked up some fresh gouda cheese. It rained on our way but luckily did not rain while we were in town. We parked then walked down to the wharf. We boarded a double decker bus and went on a tour of the city. We were on the top deck with no cover so we were so glad it did not rain.
We talked to a couple sitting near us. It turns out they were both born in Holland (we lived in Holland from 1981 until 1986). His daughter goes to a church that was started by some friends of ours!
Today at the bottle house a fellow came up to us and he lived in Houston for 27 years, and has moved to central Texas (near where our son lives). Small world.
Well, we leave tomorrow and will drive 5-6 hours and stop for the night then continue on to Quebec City.
I finished the Anne of Green Gables book and loved it. I also bought the second book, Anne of Avonlea. I am prepared for our long day of driving tomorrow!
