Good morning friends.
Bet, Yesterday I said "when we left Lake George on Thursday" I meant Saturday (sigh). I lose track of the days in the summer.
Marlene, Hope your foot is feeling better today.
Just picked up my rental car. It's nice driving a new car, so smooth and clean.
Busy day ahead.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning. 49 and sunny here this morning. It got all the way up to 67 yesterday but will be a little warmer today. My kind of weather.
Last night after work I canned to more quarts of tomatoes. Dinner was a hot meatloaf sandwich and leftover broccoli in lemon butter. Finished up the chocolate bundt cake with some strawberries and cream before I went to bed.
Not much happening here except work again today.
Tasty, in another thread I asked Ann would share her Worcestershire sauce recipe then when posting the recipes this morning realized it was yours.
Have a great day.

Good morning to all.
It's still dark here in Ca. I have about 30 min. before I take the girls to school. After that I will walk the dogs and think about going to the office. LOL.
Nancy glad you have a rental. Such a pain when the car needs a repair. Bet, meatloaf sandwich sounds yummy. Tonight I am making fish tacos, rice and beans. Will also cook up some turkey taco mix for those that won't eat fish.
Have a great day.

Hi everyone. Never made it back here yesterday evening like I had hoped to. When DH and I returned from shopping for flooring, we found a young girl in her 20's (I'm guessing), laying on our front lawn. Her car she had been driving was pulled up on the lawn too. DH and I ran over to her--she was somewhat alert and but shaking. I was able to get out of her that she believed she was having a reaction to a new medicine her doctor had given her, felt dizzy, and pulled over. DH said he would call for help, but she said she already had did that. We stayed with her and sure enough, help was there in just a few minutes. They took her to the hospital by ambulance, and afterwards removed her car from the front lawn. Living on the main road in our subdivision, we've had similar things happen like this the past 25 years, but as always, it shakes me up too.
The lettuce -wrapped turkey tacos were good, but not too filing for DH. A short time later I found him back in the kitchen making a sandwich.
Last evening I was able to pick up two subbing assignments for down the road, one in September and the other in October. I was surprised that I even saw something already posted on the first day of the school year. Just got a call for an ESE aide position this afternoon, but had to turn it down as it involves lifting an older and heavier child. Just can't chance that with my back.
Marlene, hope your foot is doing better today.
Chris, sending my condolences on the loss of your Aunt. What a list of beautiful memories you must have collected over the years, and those can never be lost.
Today, after going through the big freezer outside and finding a hidden pkg. of ground beef, I'll be making porcupine meatballs. I'll serve that with some mashed potatoes and some cauliflower and broccoli.
Need to make several phone calls, so I better get moving. Have a great day friends. Lori

We are to get rain today! I wish it would let them get done around my back door but they just started there this morning. They are making walkway and new place for a grill etc. So lots of block work yet to do. Did get the new storm door on the front yesterday, Jason will take the inside metal door home and paint it so will all look nice. It just makes the house with the colored brick.
We are going to have BBQ pork sandwiches, leftover squash casserole and some creamed cucumbers and tomatoes sliced. So will clean up the leftovers. Have enough Strawberry dessert for the guys. Then will bake a peach pie for tomorrow.
I got some bunion covers for my foot and feels so much better. Keeping this boot on until bedtime I want it healed ! Did 2 small loads of wash this morning. Easier to do small loads and keep it cleaned up.
Hope you all have a great day! Marlene

I couldnt find Whats Cooking.
Good morning. Sitting here at the Toyota dealership (along with everyone else in the free world) for the past two hours waiting for my oil change and two manufacture recalls to be complete. Never coming that early again! Usually come around 10:00 and the wait is not bad. My service guy said its those recalls, they've been crazy in here yesterday and today!
I'm making Beef Curry over white rice for dinner. It's so good and even better the next day. I also need to make my zucchini squash casserole before the squash goes off. I added mushrooms the last time and instead of all sharp cheddar I did half of that and half swiss and I really liked it.
I swear have so much going on this month if I dont keep a list I'll forget something for sure so I decided to try out a planner for the first time ever to see if it keeps yours truly organized. I will be glad when this is all finished and life goes back to normal.
I hope everyone had a nice weekend and that you all have a lovely week ahead. I post and then read so I might be returning later when I get home.

Good to see over here Elaine.
I will cook my pork roast this afternoon and then slice it once it has cooled. Hubby turned his nose up at the thought of a roast dinner so he'll get it cold. Depending how we feel later on, we might go out for dinner tonight. It's hubby's birthday tomorrow but he has a meeting and it's my golf night.
The weather is perfect here today - in the 70s, humidity is not bad either. My type of day.
Our pickling group spent the morning making mincemeat, peach chutney and moutarda di fruiti (dried fruits in a mustard sauce). They all tasted just fabulous - funny how when we fill the jars, there is always just a little left over for us to have a taste-test!
Have a terrific Tuesday.

Good Tuesday afternoon to everyone, hope you are having a good day. I have to go to the heart doctor today at 4 and sure wish there was a way to get out of it. I have been dragging my feet all day on getting myself ready to go, so I will not stay on here long. I just don't want anymore pill to take. Okay enough whining about that !!!! Marlene think I will come and eat a piece of peach pie tomorrow, that is my favorite. Did you have a good time with your daughter and family, I know the time went by to fast. I know what you mean about the rain, they are trying to lay a new sidewalk and also making my patio bigger. I say rain, rain go away and come again another day. Talk to everyone later better get myself ready to go.

Tasty, in another thread I asked Ann would share her Worcestershire sauce recipe then when posting the recipes this morning realized it was yours. I personally, I have not made this recipe but I have tasted it and it is good. Worcestershire - type Sauce 2 small onions chopped 2 cloves garlic crushed 1 slice ginger root 1/2" thick 1/4 cup mustard seeds 2 tsp peppercorns 1 hole cinnamon stick 1 tsp hot pepper flakes 1 tsp whole cloves 1 tsp cardomom seeds (remove seeds from pods) 1/2 tsp hole nutmeg chopped Tie the above ingredients in a cheesecloth bundle 4 cups cider vinegar 1 cup molasses 1 cup MSG free soya sauce 1/2 cup lemon juice 1/4 cup lime juice MIx ingredients together and bring to a boil. reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes then add the spice/onion bundle an simmer covered for 1.5 hours. 1 tsp curry powder 1 cup water mix together and add to the simmering mixture and continue to cook over low hear for 5 minutes stirring often. 1 cup honey While the above mixture is simmering, put the honey in a small pot and bring to a boil over very low heat. Boil 4 minutes until thick and dark. Don't let it burn. Add the honey to the simmering mixture and cook for 2 minutes while stirring. Remove from the heat and let cool for a couple of hours. Remove the spice/onon bag after squishing against the side of the pan a few times. (I left mine to drip a couple of hours in addition and then gave it a good squeeze. The recipe suggests straining the mixture through a fine seive lined with cheesecloth. (I didn't do this as I used an old linen tablecloth to make the spice bag so it was not necessary.line the fine seive. Re-heat and pour into hot sterilized jars and cap. Keeps indefinitely in the fridge. Yield 8 cups

Afternoon, friends! Just finished cleaning up from making another batch of gazpacho. I was dragging my feet because my new blender is being delivered, but the PO has until 8 tonight to get it here...durn.
I got a "Glantop Official Professional Commercial Blender"(2200W). I stumbled upon this when searching on Amazon. Has great reviews...time will tell.
Tonight we are having a TOH recipe that is in the latest magazine..."Saucy Beef and Cabbage".
Enjoy the evening everyone; waving to all!

Everyone is so busy canning and preserving. It's a perfect day in PA to do that type of thing. It's cooled down quiet a bit. That's surprising since the kids started school yesterday. Usually it's very hot for the kids.
How scary that was to find the girl on your lawn like that. Thank goodness she was able to stop the car and get out without having an accident. I wonder if the medicine said "Do not drive while taking the medication." I'm go glad she was okay until the paramedic got there.
I picked my first tomato today and put it on a hamburger. Nothing is better than fresh tomato. There will be more ready to pick by the weekend. They seem to be all ripening at the same time. That won't be a problem. My family and neighbors will love them.

We had lasagna, green salad, and garlic bread. Yum. Finally managed to get Hubby to the foot doctor this afternoon. Good lord, it was hot! Supposed to break records. I was drenched and had a headache after getting Hubby in and out of the car. October, I'm ready for your cooler temps. I can hardly stay awake. Hoping for sweet dreams.
