Good Morning, Another cool morning and great for sleeping, its 58*and going to a high of 83* and more humid. The 70 didn't last long, but returning this coming weekend. Todays plan is to work outside this morning, and then coming inside. I had such a stress day yesterday, but worked its way out, pulled and pulled weeds. The stress came from the neighbor, we did put a note on his door and his girlfriend came, he hasn't been there in over a week, she took a picture of the note, and he called. "Just put up with it a few more days, I'm out of town". Ya Ok. I just don't believe him, out of town, ya. Ray got the rest of the grass cut yesterday also time for Gage to cut the front again, all that rain and temps, makes the grass grow fast.
Grace. I bet you are happy about being done with the tomatoes. Do you can anything else? Yes we have rain coming in for tomorrow.
Lair, I'm sure Andy kept busy with his phone if the day was long for him. These phones now days are a mini computer. Good that your new puter is working out good for you. No files on the hard drive and you lost your pictures, that's not good Yes we back up our pictures on a disc. Keeping my fingers crossed that you can find the pictures and the rest you want to find.
Mary, I had a quiet Sunday also. Yes, dealing with drinking isn't fun, leads to lots of divorces. So did you catch the crabgrass? I think that is all I pulled yesterday, so darn much of it. Yes we have a fox in the area, I have seen it. The DNR don't want to scare people, I'm sure years ago we had a bear in the back woods. I wanted to eliminate the chickens but Ray, said its not the chickens fault. So already under the feeder, can't be much seeds left there.
Anglea, Remembering all the passwords is fun, sometimes I need to look one up. I wish I had a schedule I should. Glad you had time to fix supper for the kids. Furnace on, that's something my DH would say also. I'm guessing later today the air will be on if it gets too humid.
MaryinMi Funny about the watermelon, I do hope you enjoy it. I have froze it before and didn't like it. In fact, don't like grapes froze. Never tried pineapple.
Alma, Good to see you. You moved a lot of plants, 30 is a lot to move. Maybe the front office will take the big hoya plant for the mail enterance.
gkids, That's really rough when the dr. is so late, especially if the office don't tell you. Glad that chapter is closed for you. It happens that way a lot hurry up and wait hurry up and wait. Have seen that in horseshows, track meets, and some appointments.
Well I guess that it for now, need some coffee and do a few things in the house before heading out the door, its pretty dewy out. The cat hasn't been around to eat, and I hope she sleeps in the house for awhile so I can go out in the front front flower beds. Have a great day.

Good Morning, it is 60* and sunny this morning with a breeze out of the south. Should be a nice day for working outside. Yesterday I didn't do a lot but I was busy all day long. Don't know how to explain that but that's what I remember. Tim had a good day and his appointment went well. He said Andy was a perfect gentleman and was real good company and the nurses allowed him with Tim the whole time except when they put the tube into his heart. I was surprised to see them home a little after 2 pm. Andy went home and was back in an hour and mowed the lawn. He even did some edging and then said come on and we will pick the garden. He picked most of the stuff and brought it in the house. He did get a ice cream bucket full of Brussel sprouts for himself. Seems a small price to pay plus he did grab a couple white egg plant. He says he will never eat the purple again after the white. Guess I know what I have to start next spring. I played on the computer last night. Lots of new stuff to master but the good news is I found about 800 pictures on one of the disc I had. I downloaded them to my computer so I have them but it is a mess. They were all in files on the disc but when I imported them they are on pictures but in no order. Kind of like dumping files into a box. Once I get it figured out I will try to organize again. I am feeling a bit timid but it is just my first day so it should get better. I try something and then just walk away and think about it before I just click on anything. Tims calling, be back

Good morning. It's a little cool this morning, but sunny, so won't take long to get warm again. Supposed to get to 85 or so today.
I stopped after work yesterday at Applebee's to get lunch. DW's birthday. I had a gift card from 5 to 7 years ago, and they still accepted it. Got two cedar grilled lemon chicken with a Mozzarella cheese stick appetizer for $20.00 plus tax, so still have almost half the card value left. Was pretty good. I just kept forgetting the card was in my wallet. Also, stopped at a Husker store and got a shirt for DW. The girl was helping pick it out, and after I got home, it's the wrong size. Going past their main location a little later on my way to get a prescription for DW, so will stop and exchange it.
I worked 5 hours yesterday (7 to 12), off today, work tomorrow 5 to 9 pm, Thursday 1 to 8 pm, and Friday 7 am to 3 pm. Will make for a pretty good check . They put a big display of Halloween out yesterday - right as you come in the door. Hope a lot of it goes, as I don't know where we would store it for a year. Also, got in an assortment of Kitchen-Aid, which I don't think they have carried before. Will be interesting to see how that sells, as it is pretty expensive.
I was out earlier putting together my tree trimmings in to bunches for the trash men to take Thursday. Have to make one more bunch. Have to cut it short enough, as they don't like it much over 4 feet long. Mine do stretch out more than that, but not much. I cut the trimmings shorter.
Guess I better get busy. Have a good day.

Hi Carol, Lair, and All who sneak in while I type, I mowed the lawn yesterday. When I got done I asked DH what time it was. He said it was after noon; he'd heard the church bells quite awhile before. He went and looked at his phone and it was 12:59. I came in and made dinner for us. That was the last I did outside yesterday. Yup, I chase the crabgrass but it doesn't run. I'm beginning to think that every time I pull something out, some sort of weed or grass replaces it. I forgot, I did repot my pink Princettia. I didn't realize that it had so little dirt in that pot. I just pulled it out of the old pot and put it in the new one. It got expansion of at least an inch on both sides and underneath. Maybe it won't tip over in the wind now. I'm thinking there are a few things that need some moving and changing, but they'll wait till fall.
Today was the first day of school. I was up at 6:15 which was too early so I went back to bed. I didn't get up again until 8:15, so I missed all the craziness. I'll see them all come walking home this afternoon.
DH did agree to be a pallbearer. Both the wake and funeral will be at the funeral home. He'll have military rites because he was in the national guard. DH said he was out driving around and saw Laverne's brother was outside so he stopped to talk to him. He was also an usher in our wedding. He lives in a mobile home right next to his brother's house. He told Jerry the EX showed up at the house when her son was there. She started saying, "I could use this, and I could use that." The son told her, "You got everything you're gonna get when you walked out of this house the first time." Bravo Jesse!!!! Wow, to do this to her own son, just a day after his dad passed, is unconscionable! That sealed the deal for me; I definitely will have no time for this woman now. The day she filed for divorce she had everything all planned out. She emptied out their savings account and then went to her house with a few friends from work to help her move a LOT of stuff that she wanted out of the house while her husband was at work. All these women ever heard at work was her side of the story. I didn't like what she did and thought it was very underhanded, but I wasn't getting involved or defending either side. She later remarried after they were divorced. I guess it's always been about her; maybe that's why he drank. Enough about that.
I looked out the window earlier and saw a goldfinch, so I'm gonna have to get their feeder emptied out, cleaned up, and put some fresh thistle seed in. I haven't seen the hummingbird since yesterday morning. I hope it sticks around for awhile. I put out two feeders.
Carol, So you put a note on his door about the chickens? Does he 'go out of town' a lot?
Lair, I'm glad Andy has been such a big help to both of you. Glad you found some pictures. My DD has me save my phone pictures to 'the cloud'. I'm worried that someday that cloud will rain my pictures down and they will be gone.
MaryinMi, I was gonna tell you to cut it in half in the trunk as I was reading. I see that's what you did. Great Mary minds think alike. LOL
Alma, I have no idea how big your plant is, but have you thought about donating it to some place like Reiman Garden or the Botanical Garden in Des Moines. They might be interested.
Well, I better get moving. I know there are weeds out there uttering my name. I saw them all yesterday.

Hey Ya'll, I'm back. That was interesting when Tim called this morning. He asked how he looked. His color was good and I was thinking he looked fine but different. Then it hit me. His beard was gone. He said it was on his pillow. I had noticed Sunday that there were a few spots of brown that were thin but the grey was still there. This morning it is all gone except a small patch covering his Adams apple. That looks like a bush. After he left I went out and hit the iris bed and got one wagon full of weeds but needed some shade. Once I got in the shade I got shaky and my heart was trying to get out of my chest. I came in the house after I started a sweat but things are getting back to normal. I may go out in a while but all depends on how shaky I feel. I have to tell you what I found this morning. Last night I went to bed and sort of stumbled in the dark and stepped on something but didn't turn on the light to notice what. This morning there was nothing there. After Tim got in the shower I was running the vac around the floors and there was a small bump in the rug. I picked up the rug expecting to find a cat toy. It was that for sure. It was a mouse just about as flat as it could get. I can't believe mice are trying to come in this early. Sure was a surprise to find it there. I had another thrill last night. Playing with the computer I tried an old disk to see if I could open it. I did and much to my surprise it has over 900 pictures on it. I moved them onto the computer and they are here. They were in files on the disc but on the computer they are arranged by date. It will take a while to get them organized so I can find them when I want to. Now I just have 4 more discs to look into.
Well, I am heading back out to do battle with the weed invasion. Wish me luck and you all have a wonderful day. Later!

Hi all--it's been a few days. Not a whole lot going on right now. Still no ambition. thankfully no job yet. Allen has chemo on Friday and then next Friday also and the following week he is off. Radiation is done until mid November when they do the next MRI.
This morning I had Riley for therapy & then school. Also had to pick him off the bus & keep him until his mother got off work. Guess what--he didn't want to go home so he is still here. He just weaseled Grampa in to cutting up the cantelope for him to eat. Sometime soon Mother will be back to get him.
Allen asked him what I was making for supper & Riley told him monsters. I it comical at times listening to him chatter while playing of his Ipad or on my Kindle. When I took his to school he was chattering about Pokémon Go.
That is about it for here--take care

What a way to start your day Lair, with a mouse under your rug! I always worry about them coming in when the weather gets a little cooler. That won't be or a month or two yet in my area. At least it was a dead mouse so it didn't disrupt your sleep last night. Do you think one of your cats left it there as a gift to you? Thank goodness, so far I haven't had that problem and am very careful to keep a look out for any place they may get in. It sounds like you are making great headway in getting your pictures on your computer. You obviously have more talent in that area than l do. Keep up the good work and don't overdo outdoors. I really enjoy your posts and look for them every day. Thanks
Joyce

In Iowa when we have a bit of a chill the mice are ready to come in! I kept baited traps around the house. House was mouse proof - but I would bring them in. One year I had a pair and got them caught before there were more. All winter I wondered how I had carried them in. Then in Feb I cut the geraniums back and let heal for about an hour. Then I go back to the pot, dig a hold & pop in the shortened stem. When I stuck my hand in the soil there was a neat little round hole. I had hurriedly set that pot in the car. It had been at back of shop and I forgot about it until after the frost. It was a very large foam pot. They has simply crawled up and made a home. I had set it in van and then forgot to check for mice. The warm porch welcomed them.
My organ didn't have much sound - when DD moved it - mouse tracks. Not sure if it can be rewired. I can't move it so will wait for help. They may have been the culprits - as I hadn't tried to play it till last year - and they were in 11 winters ago.
Weather nice and cool today. Went out to get aronia berries and only 3 stems. Had the ex pick some - but he only got pint and half. I originally planted them for the birds. I saw a gold finch eating on them yesterday. I let them go too long. Last year I got 40 #'s and had shared more with friends. Hope the people the get the house can enjoy them. More nutritious than blueberries. Not as sweet or juicy - but I like them frozen and put on cereal, yogurt or salads.
Will not post much in the next few days - toooooo much to do! Will read - and then post on Monday.
My pots are very small. I have a shelf - that was a sock rack I converted with 3 shelves - in east window. The bedroom/den has deep sills and 15 pots there. The clear plastic bins - slanted for soda cans - make good liners. have 6 on top shelf of desk in front of windows. One pot is in the hallway at end and gets good sun. It is a tall sansavarious (snake plant- MIL tounge) 2 on table at end of bed. It doesn't take as long to water as the 167 I had last winter. No geraniums, impatiients or many others.
With this new remodeling I hope there will - or can be a place for the hoya!
Yesterday and today's meal time show was watching the masons put the mantel on outdoor fireplace. They used a cone like I used to decorate cakes to put the mortar in the small spaces. Watching them carry 1/3of a bucket of mortar up the wiggly scaffolding was almost too much thrill - but he made it.
Guess that was the highlight for today! little unusual things like that enjoy! Alma
