Just Enough Toad in the Hole with Popover Pudding wellenuffalone.blogspot.com/2008/12/just-enough-toad-in-hole.html
"I had always wondered what this dish was, and when I made it I was delighted to discover that is merely a popover or Yorkshire pudding with sausages baked inside. The egg/milk/flour batter that makes up popovers, crepes and Yorkshire puddings is ridiculously easy to make, and this makes an excellent breakfast dish for those who don't care to hover over a stove top. "This may LOOK like a lot, but the poofy-ness goes away very quickly once you pull it from the heat. It is easily doubled for 2 servings, 2 eggs, 6 sausages etc."
TOAD IN THE HOLE
¼ cup flour ½ cup milk 3 breakfast sausages 1 egg 2 teaspoons butter, melted (or oil) Salt
Preheat oven to 425° Arrange uncooked sausages in small baking dish. Bake at 425° for 10 minutes. If using precooked or leftover sausages skip this step. Add egg, milk, flour, salt & melted butter to make batter. Remove dish from oven, and pour batter over the sausages Return to oven for another 35 minutes. It should remain fairly soft & moist in the center. Serve immediately.
