Good morning! I didn't wake up until late this morning so I'm slow in getting started! Happy Thanksgiving! I made the vegetable mash with Bill's help yesterday. Will take the turkey cutlets out of the freezer today, but will leave the rest of the prep to tomorrow and Saturday. We are close enough to the ocean that we will be getting rain today according to the weather forecasters. Ski country is happy with predictions of up to 9 inches. The turkey mixer was fun. The turkey cookies served were cute, but they were so sweet, I didn't finish mine. We ordered the pork chops dinner with the vegetarian pasta. The pasta was a layered ziti casserole. It went well with the chop, green beans, and mushrooms. Hope those with colds and coughs feel better today. Stay safe if you are traveling. Giving thanks for all my friends here. Waving!

We are also covered n snow. We are going to delay thanksgiving for another time! Too many accidents already around here. We are expecting 8" to 9" here. Looks like the worst of it is this afternoon. We are so close to the mountain that we may get 12", that is what is being predicted. I am at the base of Hawks MT and 10 minutes from the base of Okemo Mt and 10 from the base of Ascutney Mt. So we will sit home and eat pie LOL I over slept! Did not wake up until 7:45! That is late for me! LOL Ann- Sounds like it was a good time last night! How many Turkeys did you end up finding? Bet- That is a pretty picture! LOL Add a bit more snow and it is my backyard! Have a great day I hope everyone stays safe and has a great day!

Good morning and a Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Thankfully I slept better last night but woke up at 4:55 and couldn't fall back to sleep. I hope I can get a nap in later today. Maybe I am going to bed too early. I think I'll try staying up later tonight. That is if I can get a nap today.
The turkey will go in the oven around 6:30 and then I'll get ready to take Mandy out. It's not all that bad outside this morning, 58º. And it will be warm but cloudy and breezy.
Christmas tree will go up sometime this afternoon. But the rest of the decorating will wait until tomorrow. I've finally learned I can't do everything in a day like I use to.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Chris, that was about an hour ago I took that picture. It is almost rain here at 31° and to only get to 33°. It has to happen sometime I suppose but I always dread the first snow storm. We are to get 3-5" but it is that darn wet stuff. Smart not to travel today even a short distance. I am not moving except to go out and snow blow. Maybe getting out in the air will make me feel better. I have to go to work tomorrow and do a few things but a lot of traveling unfortunately. About a mile from here I am sure Hoffman Mt. will get more snow.
Ann, glad you enjoyed the mixer yesterday.
Mamma, love the avatar this morning. Enjoy your turkey dinner today.

Good morning all. It has been snowing here about 2 hours and we have probably 2 inches on the ground. They say we are on the edge of the worst snow though possibly up to 5 in by this afternoon. My grand niece left the Boston area yesterday so she is okay.
I am glad I don't live in the Tug Hill region. Starting late Friday they are going to get plenty of take effect snow. Some places could possibly get up to 4 ft but with Lake snow you can never tell. Down here in the valley they are talking about up to five inches again and it isn't even officially winter.
My Neighbor asked me for my mother's recipe for pumpkin pie, which was the recipe off the Libby's can. I can't believe how many people use it! They are bringing me parts of the dinner that I can eat later this week including the pie so that makes me a happy camper.
Hope you all have a good time with family and that the weather cooperates.

Birdy, I guess we are all getting winter finally. I was just out and shoveled the snow off my big deck and filled the bird feeders and we now have 2 inches. It is 32°so that darn wet stuff. I was thinking of using my little blower to do my driveway but have decided it is more important that I attempt to get my garage so I can get my car in before DSoIL comes to plow. That will probably take me the whole day as there is lots of pots etc to be moved and I don't know how many bags of eye glasses from the Lion's collection boxes sitting where the 4 wheeler has to go for the winter.
That is the pumpkin pie recipe I use also.

Birdy= I used that Pumpkin Pie recipe this year for the first time. I usually use one I got years ago from TOH.
Bet- We are supposed to get this all the way into the morning. Urg!
Mamma- We will put up our tree tomorrow maybe or on Saturday!
So everyone has decided to stay home today. So Thanksgiving will be tomorrow!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Can’t believe all the snow that so many of you are getting. Is it unusual for this time of year? We usually have lots of snow by this time, but only have a dusting. So many folks here in Canada use the Libby’s pumpkin pie recipe too. One of the best I think. Thinking of having Perogies for supper tonight. Have lots in the freezer, bought a box at Costco, thinking we’d share with our girls, only to find they both have lots in their freezers too. Bye for now, Jan

Dan decided that egg nog pie was considered good for breakfast because it is just eating eggs in a different way! LOL

We had a bag of chicken strips I found in the freezer (partial bag really) and Chik-fil-a sauce! LOL And this is my back yard. Do you see my "guest" for Thanksgiving in the bush? (In the first picture)

Happy Thanksgiving. Bruce ended up doing all 4 turkeys. I did help sone.Cal and Karen didn't show up.They better when it's time to carve them .
I met Zale and Coralie at 10 and we put tablecloths and lace ones on tables and decorated.
I just got home and Bruce just got our stuffing in the pans to go in the oven.
I am sorry for all not celebrating today because of the weather. I remember that from living in North Dakota.
Have a great day. Elaine

Chris, got to love that fellow of yours. A man after my heart of course Eggnog pie is for breakfast. Glad you have decided on your dinner. I really want to fix a nice filet for dinner tonight with some sort of baked mini potatoes but the way I feel I am afraid I won't feel like eating it once I get it fixed.
I see you little buddy in the bushes on the lower right side just waiting to check out what you are offering today.
Jan, I have always thought the pumpkin pie recipe my Mom made was from the Libby's can but in doing some searching I guess it isn't. Her recipe calls for whole milk on evaporated milk but it came off a can and that it might have been store brand for IGA.
Elaine, don't you just love folks that say they will help and then don't show up. Enjoy your dinner and I hope they show up to help serve.
I have switched from cold meds to sinus meds. Not sure if it is helping but for the past hour I have been sneezing and blowing like crazy. What ever I just want it all to go away.
I decided I am not going to try to snowblow today so called DSoIL and he will be up in the morning. I do need to go outside however and pull 6 solar lights that I forgot about as they are right along the sidewalk and if the snow comes off the roof that will be the end of them.
I have managed to make a loaf of rye bread and can't wait to slice into it. My my new bread slicer came yesterday and I can choose the thickness of the slice where as the old one are just one size and too thick for my liking. I have the recipe out to maybe make Impossible coconut pie only I will make 3-4 4" pies. Haven't tried that with his recipe before so should be interesting. Made ricotta pies that way the other day and they worked out great.
