Good morning all! Fast work week this week. Yes Charlene I have Friday off. The weather has been blustery and rain off and on. Tomorrow they are saying a freezing mix. Hope it's not to bad driving.
I maybe working 7 sites soon. The woman that does a couple of sites is having health issues and keeps going in the hospital. I really hope I don't get this last site. Just a lot of work coming up for the end of the month of December plus trying to get some of my vacant's filled. I'm not going to stress over it.
Today I need to go to the bank and pay my escrow shortage. It came from the new house insurance I got. If I pay the shortage my mortgage payment will be $50.00 cheaper. Then I have a pie to bake for tomorrow and get the car loaded.
Have a great day.

Good morning all! 55° and will be sunny. Since the time change aerobics starts at 10 instead of 9:30 so that the sun warms up a bit.
The hourly report says it will be 70° by then. 70 is our cutoff temp but with full sunshine, they may hold it for those who make the effort. I've become such a baby. I need to toughen up more so I may make the attempt today. I've really been slacking lately. If I'm going to continue drinking eggnog for the next month, I'd better start exercising more regularly.
I finished one of the samplers I've been working on and went back to a Christmas one hopefully I can finish to display it this year. I found an app to track stitches and projects but it won't run on a Kindle because they are proprietary to only Amazon apps. Since I can't get Google Playstore on Kindle, I'm out of luck. It will work on my Android phone but the screen is too small to get any real benefit from it. I've been playing with the idea of purchasing a cheap tablet to use it. I'll keep an eye out for black Friday sales. I thought of asking around to see if anyone has one they're no longer using. I just haven't gotten the nerve up yet. The app is really cool. It imports the pdf file of the chart with the symbols and lets you mark off your progress. It shows how many stitches you've done and the number of what is left as well as other stats like amount of time spent stitched, the start date. Cost, type of fabric, floss colors, etc. Right now I use a highlighter on paper. I first have to print the chart and enlarge it. That uses up a lot of ink so I'm spending money either way. Decisions, decisions😀
Church prayer meeting and choir practice today. Maybe some stitching which means more sitting. I need to get motivated to get more exercise. If I walked everyday whether in cold and snow or sunshine in NY, I definitely have no excuse not to get out here. Except that I used to walk with my sister.
Have a nice day all!

Good morning. It's cool now but going to around 70. Starting Friday we have freezes in the forecast with highs in the 50s and possibly one day of 40s. I need to go find some filler for the flowers for the cemetery. DT didn't really have any. I did get some for Ethan's so it's done, but it has glitter which I don't like. My dining room table was covered with glitter last night. I'm hoping DG has something but if not I'll probably try Rose's before I go to Walmart the day before Thanksgiving. We have another DT I could try but really don't want to. Even at DT I paid way more than I wanted so will definitely need to remember to go pick these up the first of the year to save for next year. That may mean buying new vases for spring flowers because I found out when I bought an insert to cut in half for the 2 local ones with vases that the insert is just 30 cents less than the vase with the foam. I do like the vases though. They are larger and sturdier looking than the smaller white cemetery vases. Other than that I will try to do something outside. I do want to take a photo of the tithonia before the cold hits it. They are almost laying on the ground because of the storms but have continued to grow and bloom. But I'm sure a few days of a low of 30 will change that.
Bet, I'm glad you are feeling better.
Karen, I know you are relieved that there is nothing serious with your eyes. I get frustrated with the cataract in my right eye and know I'll have to do something about that in the next year or so but the cost and someone to drive me will be a problem.

Leslie, you may be able to find more vases at yard sales and for a good price.

Sandy, a busy morning for you. Wendy, you lost me with the app you were describing but as long as you can make it work, more power to you. Leslie, I hope you have success finding the flowers you want. Up here in MN we don't put decorations on the graves. Wind, snow, cold temps tend to destroy them in no time flat. A few minutes ago I received a text from DGD saying she was going to make a short detour this morning on her way home from college to stop at my house to help me decorate for Christmas. Yikes! Better get moving. Marlene

Sorry, Marlene. I got a bit wordy. Guess I was trying to process my thinking on the subject. Here's my latest finish.

Good morning everyone. It's 21º going to 31º and supposed to have snow from 3-7 today. I doubt it will amount to much.
Yesterday I finished up the raffle donation collections so today I can concentrate on getting ready for tomorrow. I can tell it's going to be "one of those days". I was here reading and making a mental list of what I want to get done today when I got a text from DGD, Makayla. She was asking if she and her family could stay here tonight. Of course, I told her they could. That meant getting all of the Christmas presents I have piled in the spare bedroom need to be moved somewhere else. Rather than wait until later, I have already moved them to an out of the way place where the girls won't find them. It also means getting s few blankets washed up for them. I will do that when I'm finished here. It also means washing the bedding on the hideabed in my living room.
Bette...glad you are feeling better.
Sandy...I hope you don't end up with that many units to manage. Hope you have a good time at DD's tomorrow. Is this her 1st turkey? That's always a scary step for a young lady. Glad you have several days off.
Wendy....I don't think tablets are that expensive, so maybe a Merry Christmas to Me gift? I love mine. What a pretty cross stich you've made!
Leslie...Around here vases are often in the free boxes at garage sales. I was planning on getting my wreath ready today, but that may wait until this weekend.
Marlene....How fun to have your DGD help with Christmas decorating. I miss those days when both DGD's would help me decorate.
Karen...I also am happy you got good news about your eyes.
Wishing everyone a great day. Charlene

Killing a bit of time before I give DH his next round of pills, so I figured I'd stop by the sunroom. It looks like we're about to experience a cold blast that will have us below freezing for what is expected to be 155 straight hours. Brrr! That starts on Friday. I'm not too sure what to expect for today's weather, but it will definitely be better than what is coming. I think we'll be in the 40s today? We had been expecting wintry conditions tonight and into tomorrow, but it looks like that will drop south of us now. Today Mac turns 5. I can hardly believe that. Where did the time go? DSon sent a video of Mac opening the box we sent to him for his birthday. The kids can be proud of him and how he handled that. He thanked us several times as he took gifts out of the box. I hope we can do a video chat later today. We'll see how the timing goes for them on that. I'm anxious to hear how his birthday party went over the weekend. I didn't ask, but I am guessing it was a school/classmates event. We had one of those when DSon turned 5. I think today I will start working on getting sides put together for tomorrow so I won't be doing everything at once for our meal. I'm doing all of our favorites. Being it will just be us, we'll be eating off of tomorrow's meal for days. That's okay. We enjoy Thanksgiving leftovers a lot. Most likely, I will be calling the AOA and telling them to stop our meals. DH was butt-ugly last night about not wanting to eat their food anymore. He hadn't even tried the new meal that came which was hot upon delivery before he went off on why I couldn't just go buy him Wendy's. I ended up giving him my meatballs because 3 per meal was never going to satisfy him. He was surprised by how much he did like the meatballs, ziti pasta (plain), green beans, and he had already eaten the mandarin orange cup earlier. That was more like what he would eat normally, but 3 meatballs was a shockingly small portion for a man his size. I still think I want to eliminate as many fights as possible, so the AOA meals are going to go. The idea was to make my life easier. That hasn't panned out the way I thought it might. I did talk to DSis#2 last night. She has offered to come stay with DH once in a while so I can get out and not worry about him for a little while. I don't go anywhere but the store and church, but she mentioned that she could sit with him when I go to church. Such a kind offer! I told her that not even his own siblings have offered to relieve me of the 24/7 watch over him. The county told me I could "hire" someone to be with him for 8 hours a week and they'd pay for that. She won't take money for that, but I wish she would. I don't know anyone else I could "hire" but could use the break. I'm finally seeing some growth with my amaryllis. It's been weeks with nothing, but now it seems to be sending up a leaf. I have no idea if or when it will bloom, but at least it is growing. I am probably going to start my mum propagation experiment today. I like to use yogurt cups for things like this and we have been without yogurt for a while. Now that we have it, I can see about making new yellow and purple mums for next year. Good morning, Bet! Sandy, I also hope your weather doesn't get too bad as you are driving tomorrow. Good idea to not stress over work. Do what you can to the best of your ability and that is it. Smart idea, Wendy, to look for a cheap tablet during Black Friday sales. I bet you will find what you need then. I'm sure walking with your sister was a big motivator when you walked in NY. You mentioning stitch has me thinking I need to get busy on Winston's fleece no-sew blanket. I just need to get started! Finishing ought not be a problem. I understand the concern about cost and getting someone to drive you for an eye surgery, Leslie. That was something I wondered about also. When I talked to DSis#2 last night, she said she has to have surgery on her eye because she has a fold in her macular something or other. She's only dealing with it now because she is on Medicare. Previously, she had no health insurance. Even with Medicare, her out of pocket will cost her a lot. I told her to just have the surgery and pay what she can monthly. I hope you can find what you are looking for in putting together something for your cemetery pieces without having to go to Walmart the day before Thanksgiving. YIKES on that! What you did for Ellen was really nice. Marlene, I'm glad your DGD is thinking of you like that. How special to have that time with her and she will help with the decorating too. Win-win! Nice, Charlene, to get that unexpected text from Makayla! However, it does bring on a rush of anxiety trying to figure out what you need to do before their arrival. Guess I best get moving. I should tackle DH's insulin before moving forward and I forget it. Wishing everyone a wonderful Wednesday!

Wendy, how pretty. You did a great job. This is the vase I bought, 4 of them. The stake comes off by twisting. There is foam already in it as well. I'll find out how well they hold up but appear to be better than most cemetery vases, except maybe concrete. I looked at those a few years ago thinking it would work on the base of the gravestones, but they are way out of my price range. Ellen's tree was still ok but I should have replaced the ornaments. When I take it down this year I'll take them off and perhaps go ahead and spray paint it again to see if it will hold up for another year or so. I don't know when or where I got it but it's been a while. I guess it's even possible that it was the top of an old Christmas tree. My aunt use to use the limbs from old artificial trees people threw out to make wreaths for gravesites. She bent the metal so it could be stuck in the ground. But they don't make artificial trees like that anymore. I am really not liking this Chrome update.

Was having a problem getting here this morning, computer kept telling me it could not connect with this site. So I shut it down and tried again and it finally worked.
I have clothes in the washer and dryer, have flipped my mattress and had breakfast and a shower. The washer just shut off but the dryer is still working so I have to wait....
Going to my youngest son's house for dinner tomorrow. He is picking me up at 11. Heard from my oldest son and he is coming out on 12/7 but he is not staying here. The boys are going out for his birthday and he doesn't want a curfew. He said he was going to stay in a hotel somewhere close to where they end up. I think we will be having our Christmas get together while he is here.
Have a good day.

I still have my cold so another day of laying low.
Tomorrow, is our Thanksgiving dinner at clubhouse and the Board is hosting. 2 of board members gone so it will be Karen and I and of course we will have our husband's help with the carving of the 4 turkeys. We also have to make gravy. The rest of the meal is potluck. Bruce and I are bringing stuffing.Bruce will make that while I'm at clubhouse getting the turkeys prepped.

Good afternoon all! I went to aerobics this morning and glad I did. Eight other ladies joined me. After that one gf called and asked me if I wanted to go to our local nursery. Of course I said yes. I picked up some dusty miller and alysum. My mother always used some as a border in her window box next to her window and patio with her wax begonias and I wanted to add some to my salvia and sunpatiens. I also got two red geraniums to replace a pair of old ones I had to cut back.
I think nothing of spending money on plants but can't decide to get the tablet which wouldn't cost as much. Well maybe a little bit more. Just this month alone I got the three ginger plants and the big shampoo one, eight salvia, fivd sunpatiens, large magenta salvia, herbs and tomato plant plus today's purchases. At least three trips to nurseries and three or four to Lowes. This year round gardening is expensive.
