Gayle, very pretty. Success is wonderful. It looks pitiful but it's going to look worse in the next few days. I've left it for the butterflies and bees but if they aren't gone yet they will be soon as well.

Gayle...Looks like the cuttings Karen shared are doing well. Leslie...I think your tithonia looks great! I had one bloom this year and no seed. Glad I have seed leftover from last year. I will continue with a couple more reds Gladioli +++++++++++++++++++++++++ Zinnia +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Texas Star Hibiscus

These are my mum cuttings I worked on this morning. I put them inside an ice cream bucket and covered that with plastic wrap. The video I watched had the cuttings in trays with plastic lids, but I don't want to be that elaborate. I didn't have rooting hormone, so I tried honey in place of that. We'll see how it goes. I've used honey on geranium cuttings before with pretty good success. Supposedly, and I can believe this, they will look like they are dying before rebounding. That'll be in about 2 or 3 weeks. If they are going to actually root, that should happen around 4 weeks from now. I have placed the bucket on the back of DSon's toilet for lack of a better place. This is near a south window. I don't know if it will make a difference or not. The video maker said something about letting them go dormant, or I could just keep them growing. That is what I plan to do if I have success with this little project. I took this yesterday when I was out messing around. It's an ornamental cabbage that I started from seed last winter. Either a critter or a bug feasted on it all spring and summer long. Now it seems to be doing what I expected around the beginning of June. At least it hasn't beena total waste. Nice tithonia, Leslie! If I grow it again, I need to put it in the ground like you do. Isn't the definition of insanity doing the same thing and expecting a different result? That is me. I keep planting mine in my biggest pot, and it is huge, but it doesn't do nearly as well there as yours does in the ground. My leaves turn brown and nasty looking. Charlene, I love your reds! Fun addition to the zinnia too.
