Cloudy and not a terribly energizing look to start the day, but it is a start none the less. When I got up to give DH his second set of pills, he wasn't quite ready to get up so I got online to see when I could call the retina specialist. I have already been able to schedule an appointment with him for tomorrow morning at 8:40. I'm so thankful for that. I was afraid I'd have to wait much longer. I could choose between this appointment and in the afternoon. I wanted in as soon as possible. The spiderweb-like lines are 95% better than yesterday, but still not gone. I hope to be able to relax a lot of the day and take it easy. We'll see how DH feels about that. I've been tracking Mac's birthday box that I mailed on Saturday. It is supposed to be there by 9:00 tonight, but if they do something dingy like send the box on to Des Moines, IA like they did the plants I sent DSon's DMIL that might not happen. If nothing else, at least the box is in IL. They have until Wednesday to get it to him before I start squawking. Thanks, Bet, for the peaceful start to the day with that beautiful picture! I agree, Carol. Well, I am going to get something to eat and maybe head to Kroger. We're almost out of milk and I could stand to pick up a few other things. I'm glad that I ought to be able to see well enough to drive. Of all the things I have had wrong with me in my life, I never considered eye problems could become one of them. I also need to call the PCP this morning to see about my testing results. It can't just be one problem at a time, can it? LOL! Have a marvelous Monday.

Good morning. It is a chilly start but high is to be low 70s. I need to go out today to look for decorations for graves for Christmas. DB#4 texted yesterday inviting me for Thanksgiving and since they live right down the road from the family cemetery I can visit the cemetery while there. Because of the damage to the main road out of town that I usually take I will have to go a different way, or take a long detour around that damaged road. I'll also pick up new decorations for DD's old Christmas tree to spruce it up one more year and put it on her grave this week. Her grave is at a local cemetery near her other grandparents. I don't know how long I've had this tree but have tried to keep it going, even spray painting it to help hold the artificial needles on the little tree. Right now it's silver but I need to get it out of the shed and see what condition it's in before I leave for the store so I can see if I need to paint it again. Perhaps if I do I'll paint it white and then put either red or blue ornaments on it. I have to get tiny ornaments so may check out DT first.

Good morning everyone. It is 32º and snowing lightly. The temps are to drop throughout the day to lower to mid 20s late afternoon. We've got quite a stretch of cold weather ahead of us.
Yesterday I went to the birthday party for 5 yr old DGGS, Luke. It was fun playing with the kids. He liked his present and his little sister loved the books I gave her and immediately jumped on my lap and said, "read".
I got home mid afternoon and seriously did nothing after that except watch a couple movies.
Today is a work day at Phyllis'. Curt needs to go to the chiropractor and was going to try to get an appointment late this afternoon or early tomorrow morning.
Bette..thanks for opening with another pretty picture.
Karen...I hope your eye is nothing other than floaters which seem to come and go for many. I've never had them, but they've got to be irritating. Hopefully a new toilet will solve some of your problems.
Leslie...You have reminded me that I need to get a wreath put together for Larry's grave. I saved several and have them hung in the garage for that purpose. I need to add some flowers from the basement and take it to his grave before December 1st. They always put up the barricades for the winter on that date since it isn't plowed through winter months.
Happy Monday to all. Charlene

Well, I posted but the gremlins got to it before I hit reply. Yesterday's family gathering was wonderful While I was cleaning up (I rather do this myself) the rest of the family played Pictionary. This morning I'm feeling woozy so will take it easy for the rest of the day. Be a blessing. Marlene

Good afternoon. 24 and temps have been dropping. Will be down to 19 by 6pm. We got somewhere close to 3” of snow. It was weirdly wet and heavy. Not sure what the temp was overnight when it started but there was some sleet before the snow. Roads in town are terrible since the bottom layer is the sleet and wet snow and the plow didn’t take it off. I started my morning by shoveling for an hour. Since we won’t plow this small amount of snow I did want to clear the driveway in front of the garage doors at least a cars length. It was hard to get the snow off the shovel b/c of how wet it was. After I finished I went to town. Got some stuff at aldis and target. Once home I built a fire. I need to go eat lunch next. My tummy is gurgling!
Have a good afternoon.

Good evening,
We've been sunny all day but still coolish. In the upper 50s with a high of 64* The GH got down to 38* last night so I bumped the heater control up a notch this morning. Will keep an eye on it as the temps drop tonight.
Ran some errands this morning; bank, gas & some cat food & bird seed from WM. Looked at Microwaves while I was there. Last time I checked them out there they were $35. Now the one I want is $75. But I need a new one. The inside top of mine is actually disintegrating in spots.
Karen, DH could be putting more "flushable" wipes down the toilet than you (or he) realizes. I've never tried to start new Mums before. They usually come back here the next yr. Let us know how it goes. I looked for Amaryllis in WM today & didn't see any. I sometimes get weird multi colored flashing floaters in my eyes. Usually after I've strained moving or picking up something heavy. I'm going to post a picture for you in the picture thread in a few minutes. I have to transfer it from my camera first.
Leslie, I hope the leg is feeling better by now. I used to put pictures together on the DR or a card table like Mary does Then leaning over to do that started bothering my back & making it hurt. So now I do them online.

Charlene, so far the floaters are "better" but not gone. DSis#3 said she has had them and they went away. I'm glad to be seeing the specialist tomorrow. I'll cheerfully pay that $40 copay to see him so soon. I keep wanting to wipe my glasses or eyes, but that won't help.
I would have believed, Mary, I'd need a pacemaker before I had a detached retina. Both of my parents had heart issues, so a pacemaker would have not been a surprise.
I believe I have removed all of the "flushable" wipes from DH's grasp, Gayle. At least I think I have. I thought I had done that before but found some in his vanity drawer and under the sink. It wouldn't surprise me if he had found some disinfectant wipes and tried to clean up after himself before flushing a wipe down the toilet. I have to be super careful now, I guess.
After spending the day tracking Mac's birthday box, it was finally delivered tonight about 6:00 Chicago time. I couldn't believe it when the expected delivery time was before 9:00. I figured that couldn't be right, but I guess they deliver until they are done? I texted DSon and told him to check his porch after I saw it was delivered and left on the porch. He got the box and said they'd open it after supper and video the whole thing for us. Now I can exhale. I would have been one crabby grandmother if that box didn't get to my baby by his birthday. LOL! I plan to ask him when we video chat on Wednesday what he wants me to fix for his special dessert when they are here since we can't be there with them for the actual day. DH has been fussing about wanting to go to Florida. I'm supposed to drive us there and we'll rent scooters for Disney World. Shoot! I don't want him on a scooter in Walmart! He pays no attention to where he is going and would no doubt run into people and maybe even go off on his own and get lost. I told him if I were to go anywhere, it would be Chicago to see my family. His nephew with is partner and our friend John living in Florida are not enticing enough for me to want to go. If DSon were there, I'd have to give it some thought. Unless and until that happens, NOPE.
The PCP's office called about my testing. The medical assistant read to me what the report said but didn't have anything else to offer other than the doctor said to "stay hydrated". Not a problem. The call wasn't at all helpful, but I will get clarification from the urologist when I see him two weeks from today.
Well, I am about ready to be done for the day. I'm whipped but can't actually relax until 11:00 when I give DH his last pills. I hope I sleep well tonight because I have to be at the eye doctor by 8:25. The appointment is at 8:40, but I got a message saying be there at 8:25. Maybe I can crash when I get home. I'll probably want to because I am sure my eyes will be dilated.
Have a good rest of the night!
I forgot to add that I heard from the AOA on our meals. Starting tomorrow, we'll get hot meals delivered M-R. Not on Thanksgiving, but normally M-R. I guess there will still be a delivery on Wednesday of at least one frozen meal, but I am thinking it might be another whole order of 10 more meals. I hope not, but if it is I pray it isn't more of what we have already received. What's left aren't very desirable and will take a while for us to choke them down.
