I bought these two bulbs on Nov. 1 at two different stores. I finally got the in-box bulb planted Nov. 11, which was only 12 days ago. The waxed bulb has three bud stalks, but only two leaves. The 8 in-box bulb's leaves are now 5" tall in height in just 12 days. This bulb also had 3 baby bulbs pop up as well. They both look amazing so far. The in-box bulb has just started to show 1 bud spike tip just inside that first leaf.

Very nice, Mary! I have yet to have any progression on my bulb. I keep looking for new green as if it were seeds that I started. Nothing new so far. The bulb is smaller than yours and not at all green, so I hope I get something.

When I buy amaryllis I always open the boxes and make sure there is a bud tip visible. Thats the only way to guarantee you will get one. Before learning this tip I was disappointed in bulbs that never flowered. Generally the buds will form before or at the same time as leaves.
