Good morning everyone. It is 27º and going to mid 30s later with 30 MPH winds giving it a feels like in the upper teens. Our ground is white from snow, but it doesn't look like I will need to shovel as not much accumulation on the sidewalks and driveway. It appears winter is trying to move in.
Yesterday was a day of work at Phyllis and then a trip to Lair's house. This morning before going to Phyllis's I am returning the space heaters to the gal that leant them to him when he was without a furnace. I also am taking Curt to the post office before going to work.
Cute fawns picture, Bette.
Happy Thursday to all. Charlene

Good morning all! 62° and breezy but the sun is shining. We should warm back up again by Monday. I slept until 8:30 this morning. That workout in my garden helped to get a good night's sleep without getting up at 4am. But, at the same time, sleeping this late is only ok once in a while.
Beautiful picture Bet!
I don't think I'd ever miss snow Charlene. Although it looks very pretty in pictures.
No agenda today. I'd like to get two more tricolored ginger to fill in. I wish I knew if it is one where it goes dormant for the winter. I would like year round color in that spot.
Have a great day all!

Good morning. Like Wendy, nothing on my agenda today. I may run to Walmart for ingredients for what I plan to make for finger foods for church Sunday night. The Walmart market has been working on restocking after the flood so hopefully they are open and people in that area can go back to shopping there. They have been emptying the shelves at the supercenter. I may just go to Aldi's since I only need canned biscuits, mozzarella sticks and pepperoni.

If this is all the snow we get today, I will be a happy girl. Our highest chance for snow is only 20% the rest of the day. For once, being in the donut hole of a swirling system may work to my advantage. Scattered snow seems to be all around us, but we are clear. When I got up, there was snow in the grass and on rooftops but not anywhere else. It's now melted from the rooftops and I only see snow on a patch of dirt I created when I filled in a sizeable hole in the yard. The actual temp is in the low 30s, but the wind chill is making it feel much colder. Definitely the coldest we've been since March. At least that is what I heard a weather guy say this morning. It looks like we will be breezy, but I don't see the wind gusts in our forecast now. That is good news for me. Between the wind dying down and the snow being less than I expected, I should be okay when I go out this afternoon for my testing. I'll be glad to have that behind me. I'm still going to push fluids, though, as much as I can. I thought I was before, but probably not as much as I thought in hindsight. Dealing with DH so much has kept me from paying attention to myself. My kidneys are not an area I can neglect no matter what. I still have some flowers in bloom outside. Maybe when I get home this afternoon I will go cut some to bring inside. I found a surprise ageratum or two in the stony area of Faith's Corner. I noticed this morning that I have some nice blooms on that. The YS is also hanging tough, which surprises me. There may be snapdragons I can bring in also. They do so well along the brick wall. Sweet babies, Bet! Thanks for sharing the pic. Have a good day today, Charlene. Sounds like you are peddling as fast as you can. Wendy, I hope you can find two more tricolor gingers. I googled that and didn't see anything about it going dormant. Aldi's does sound like a good idea for shopping, Leslie. You won't have to guess if they are open like you might with the Walmart market. I suppose I better go see what is happening with DH. He's been somewhat quiet. I got a thank-you from him for "fixing" his computer this morning. He indiscriminately clicks without knowing what he is doing, so he opens things he has no clue about. The sticker to help him know what to click to maximize his screen is not working well. I guess if I want to feel smart about myself I can go tinker with his computer. He seemingly believes I am Albert Einstein for what I do on his laptop. It's just computer basics, which makes me sad to know he can't figure it out or retain what I tell him. Have a good day!

Good morning, well what's left of it. I am taking mavis to dr. Later this afternoon which is okay as I use her car and gas.
We ran to Walmart as I needed an orange for muffins and mushrooms for that Swiss cheese meatloaf that's floating around on Facebook.
I have cranberry muffins in oven, laundry going and the ice machine going. I still want to make some Oatmeal raisin cookies.
Bet- love the picture.
Charlene- I am glad you get paid. I don't mind driving people but our truck eats gas and if only they would give something towards that.
You guys can keep the snow and rain. I am double layered and still have a chill and it's 68°.

Good afternoon, we did get some rain last evening and more during the night, no idea how much but every little bit helps, I guess. They are calling for rain again tonight that is to turn to snow and then back to rain tomorrow morning. It is cloudy at the moment and 47°.
I have some clothes that need to be dropped off and Goodwill or someplace like that, maybe I can get my son to do a drive by on Saturday.
I came I read, and then I left without dropping off a note so had to come back. Have a good day.

Good afternoon, Couldn't get on here yesterday evening so I need to go see what I missed. We are a mix of sun & clouds, low 50s & windy so makes it feel colder. We had a shower again last night so 1/2"of rain between Tues & last night's showers.
Mary M, did any of that Bomb Cyclone affect your weather?
I haven't done much today. Filled bird feeders as usual & cleaned up the yard a little; will go get the mail shortly. Nothing exciting.
Karen, maybe you can find out what is wrong with DH's screen via Google? Would a little notebook with simple instructions in it help him at all? He could keep it by his chair. I'm thinking a page or 2 labeled TV, a couple labeled Phone, etc; Again just simple remedies. If it does this, push that. That kind of thing.
Wendy, hope your plants do what you want.

Wendy, I hope you can find two more tricolor gingers. I googled that and didn't see anything about it going dormant. I actually got three. The shampoo ginger will die back so the four tricolor will fill in nice. Next year I can harvest shampoo from the other one. Great afternoon.. After going to Lowes for the ginger plants I went to Walgreens, the car wash (way overdue), then Walmart for groceries. I could've skipped Walgreens and just gone to Wal-Mart but the original plan was to go to Publix. Stitching and TV tonight.

Good evening. This has been a crazy mixed up week for me. Today is the first day I have worked all week so it seems like Monday or Tuesday for me. It turned out to be an easy day and I was home about 1:30. I was really concerned about work as I had some new jobs due to the merge of the company I worked for with another subsidiary of the big conglomerate. They are very confusing and we haven't had any training. I had a long phone conversation with my manager yesterday and said don't worry do what ever you have to do to get out of the job questions. They don't give us the tools and training to work with then they get whatever they get for work. He sounds pretty upset also as he doesn't have the answers we need. Tomorrow may turn into a long day but actually a rather easy day. Not sure what I have done since I got home but been busy. Have changed my mind about dinner several times. Was going to have some beef stew I pulled from the freezer so decided I wanted some biscuits with it then came the though of Cheddar Bay Biscuits so started started looking at what recipes I had and found a Black pepper bacon cheddar biscuit that sounded good. That led to baking a pound of bacon so then I wanted something with more bacon after I ate almost have the pound I cooked. That lead to eggs a quiche or an omelette? I will have some toast and green salad with it. I am working on creating a Black Pepper, bacon, cheddar bay biscuit. It I get that written up tonight I will have the chili with that tomorrow night. Our low this morning was 38° it started raining about 7 but it has been very light rain most of the day but this evening is sounds like it is raining pretty heavy. The high here was 41° and 39° at about 6 PM and the low is to be 36°. Really flirting with the possible s word but not mentioned in the forecast. Showers tomorrow morning then a fairly good weekend with some sun but highs in the low 40's. I can't believe my baby is going to be 8 tomorrow. It doesn't seem possible. It seems like yesterday she was the little toddler that was with me every day. I guess that is a said note to end on.
Enjoy your evening.
Bet

Mary M, did any of that Bomb Cyclone affect your weather? Gayle, the weather around my place has been blustery but ok. Western Oregon and Washington endured a very blustery Tuesday night. From what I understand wind at Portland International Airport was 45 mph. That's also where gusts topped out in Salem, while in Vancouver the peak was 35 mph. They said the storm brought gusts over 70 mph to some places. I usually follow the weather but didn’t watch the local news for several days. Our weather around my area was blustery and breezy so, I was surprised to hear on the news a "bomb cyclone" slammed the Pacific Northwest. A 11-mile Stretch of I-5 from Ashland to the Oregon-California border was closed but believe that has reopened. From what I understand it was one of the strongest storms on the West Coast in decades knocked out power for thousands of people, unleashed strong winds that toppled trees and left two dead in Washington before making its way through Oregon to Northern California where on Thursday it dropped heavy snow and record amounts of rain.
