Good early morning to Chris and all that follow. Woke up at 3 to use the bathroom and just am unable to go back to sleep. Busy day planned around the house again so was as considering making English Muffin pizzas for dinner this evening. DH suggested instead Jersey Mike's for subs--fine with me. Hope that all under the weather are feeling better today. Waving to everyone. Lori

Good Sunday morning, friends! It's another clear, cool, and bone dry day. Red alert is still up for wildfires. The two humidifiers we have going are keeping the static electricity at bay. Bill made his venison pie (ground pork & venison) for dinner last night. I ordered up salads to go with it and sides to go with fresh kielbasa that I'll cook for supper tonight. I got potatoes bravas, string beans, and cauliflower to go with. Going to the gym this morning. I want to check out PBS's All Creatures, Season 3 today. Otherwise, I see a few things that need attention in the kitchen area. I also have apples to slice up and acidulate. The whole apples take up too much space in the produce drawer, IMO! We got the Thanksgiving memo announcing the plans for that day. There will be two seatings for a traditional turkey (and keto) dinner. We signed up for noontime. I've never had Thanksgiving dinner made by someone else in over 50 years!! I'm thinking I'll be happy to be served!!! Have a wonderful day! Waving!

Good morning friends. Another decent November day with temperatures to climb to the mid 40s - that brings no complaints from me. Not too much planned here today other than a walk to one of the fancy restaurants to check on their New Year's eve menu. Friends have suggested going there but there is nothing online to say what they are serving, other than a 3 course meal before 7pm or a 4 course meal after that - no details of what those courses might be and for what they are charging, it would have to be pretty darned good. Of course, they want people to book now so we thought we'd go and try to find out. The market yesterday was a wonderful one for our group. We sold a lot including every last bit of our baking - and by our usual standards we had a lot. The setting was glorious on a bright sunny day. The building is basically all old glass windows and can be bitterly cold on a winter's day but with the sun shining on our backs early in the morning we were not cold and even shed our jackets for most of the day. It was a lovely day and 4 of us were kept pretty busy. Have a super Sunday ๐.

Hi ! I have a few extra minutes this morning before we leave for church. The concert Friday was amazing. If you get a chance to ever see Straight No Chaser, do it! You will be thoroughly entertained. Yesterday the brunch went very well. Even though I forgot some of my groceries and had to call on DH to bring them to me! Our charcuterie turkey turned out very nice. There was a small group, only about 15, so there was plenty. We have no plans for today other than church and getting lunch somewhere. DH is getting some energy back. He goes on Wednesday to get the equipment needed for dialysis. That's about it for us. Pretty pix Bet, as usual. That is such a lovely area.
Waving to all. DH just headed to the car, so I had better get a move on!

Good morning friends.
It is a chilly, or in my opinion, cold outside, this morning. Not much sun yet, and 48ยบ. Windy and another chilly day. Mandy had on a nice warm sweater and I was bundled up like an eskimo. I got a lot of "looks" from the snowbirds. Mandy gets an "oh so cute". LOL
The white clothes etc. are in the washer. Then I'll be done with the laundry for awhile. Annie did a pretty good job yesterday considering I didn't move anything for her. At least my feet aren't crunching on sugar granules anymore.
If my foot will let me I want to make popcorn balls today. That requires a bit of standing so I'll have a chair set by the stove. The syrup needs to be watched as does the temp. When forming the balls I will have to stand. But that goes quickly. God willing and the creek don't rise, I would like to make two batches this year. Not in one day or week though. I love my popcorn balls. The recipe is originally from my great great grandmother so it is way way over 100 yeas old. I have two more kinds of cookies to make and two kinds of candy, peanut brittle and peko (raw coconut brittle) to make and then I am done with my Christmas treats.
Monday I'm calling my podiatrist for an appointment. He will probably want to set up an MRI. I won't do injections unless he can pin point where the pain is from. They do no good otherwise. My pain specialist told me that. Good grief, I have so many different doctors, pediotrist, orthopedic, pain specialist, heart, and primary (who does nothing). Must be old age. LOL
Time to move to the recliner and put my feet up before I have pain. All is good right now. :) Church on line in an hour.

Just taking a break and stopped to see what everyone is up to this beautiful Sunday. I would like to be outside working. Maybe this afternoon. I have the rolls all baked and cooling. I have made one batch of dressing. Just waiting for the vegetables to cook so I can make the second one and then I will get the last 2 turkey breast in the oven. My cohort just emailed me she had 2 pies done and 3 more in the oven. Next is to either peel potatoes or shrimp. Not looking forward to either.

Well, I maybe had no plans for the day but that changed at breakfast time! We are just about out of bread and we are now totally out of granola and very low on muffins. A loaf of bread is just about finished it's last rise before going in the oven, a batch of cranberry oatmeal muffins are cooling on the counter and the granola has just come out of the oven. Now I think I had best go and get dressed. Wonder what else I will get into. Lori, I sent you a PM.

Tasty, I love home made bread, but after it cools off it seems to get so dry and I don't care for it. That makes the bread go to waste. Do you have a secret recipe for soft home made bread?

Mamma, once my bread cools down, I store it in the freezer. When we want some, it goes into the microwave to thaw sufficiently to be able to slice it, then back into the freezer. It is stored in a heavy weight freezer bag that can be re-used. Have done this for 20+ years and never had an issue with it drying out.

Good morning. As Mamma said it is windy and chilly here. I only walked Coco earlier. There was no way I was walking in this wind, lol.
Bet - that bandstand reminded me of home as we have one at Myra museum and my friends got married in it. Ours wasn't up so high.
Tasty- I could use that oatmeal cranberry recipe if you would share. It's not that I don't use your sour cream one. I have now even drained canned fruit and put in them. Also do you have any recipes using dried cherries? My neighbor went to foodbank and they gave him 2 big bags so he gave them to me.Thanks. Glad your sale went so well yesterday.
Tammy- I have seen that acappella group if it's the same one.
Lori, Helen and Mamma- hope your colds are doing better. Cindy ( Judys daughter) just called me and she said it sounds like I have a cold. My nose has been running but I am blaming on this wind.

Hello All. I'm snuggled in my cozy blankets and watching movies. Better today and having Lipton's chicken noodle soup, always my choice when not feeling well. Sorry to hear others are in the same boat. Just have to get the garbage bins out tonite and that is the extent of my ambition. Hope all is well health wise or getting better on this November weekend. Hugs
