Friday, November 15th "What's Cookin'?"

Good morning! Clouds that are not producing any rain is partially obscuring the almost full last super moon of 2024. We haven't had any measurable rain since September. I think it's a 9-inch deficit.
I set up two humidifiers in our main room. The water tanks were almost empty by bedtime so Bill refilled them. They are supposed to run 24 hours without a refill, but that shows how dry it was in here.
We went down to the restaurant last night and had the wagyu steak dinner. Yum...so flavorful and tender.
Pedi was great...piggys are all clipped and buffed. The tech told me her son received a pair of woman's 9.5 sized Sketchers by mistake and didn't have to return them. She offered them to me! I will pick them up this morning!
Have lots to do today. We have an early exercise class. Then we will do some grocery shopping. After that I'm going to a presentation on the American Sign Language given by my 4th floor neighbor.
Not sure what we will do for dinner.

Hello and good morning to all. 
Off to another medical appointment this morning. Thought I'd stop by now since I'm not sure what time I'll be back. If I feel in the mood this afternoon, I have a box of Crispix cereal that I'd like to whip up into a snack mix for DH.

Currently 70*. A front is moving south as I write, dropping a less than 3-minute shower on us; our forecast today is to be 80* with some clouds. 

At this early hour, no idea what we'll be having for dinner this evening. I'm sure there is plenty I can find in the freezers.

Good morning Ann and all who follow.  Another day of chilly weather - I think it's probably here to stay now.  We will get up to the mid 40s later so really not too bad.  We have had lots of sunshine this week which helps.  The Baldwin certainly feeds you well Ann.  More baking to do this afternoon when I come back from lunch.  We really have no idea what to expect  tomorrow - it is a new market and had been planned for 2 days but is now just running for the one day.  Wishing everyone a great day.

Good morning! My weekly cleaning is finished so I'm taking a minute to catch up here before I hop in the shower and get ready for work. I'm planning an outing with my sister tomorrow, to try out a fairly new place here in town called The Bradbury Bistro -- looking at their menu is making me hungry! Croissants and coffee sound good. Then we'll do some window shopping. There are several consignment places downtown where we've bought furniture before so I'll do some scouting for replacement pieces for our bedroom & DH's home office.

Tasty, hope the new market does well. I can't imagine why it wouldn't, with all the yummy things y'all are offering.

Bet, what a lovely sunrise. One of the beauties of winter is the outline of bare tree limbs against a colorful morning or evening sky.

Lori, what kind of snack mix will you make? I love almost any kind of snack mix.

Ann, ASL is such a valuable skill. I know that will be interesting.

I will go "Sit Shiva" today with a friend who lost her Mom. I had to read up on the rules. I just need to get a bowl of fruit.

Oops, I thought I had posted already.
I've been busy already, took Mandy out, put the golf cart on the charger, washed the sheets and hung pillow cases on the line, texted with Lynda and I've only been up an hour.

Peanut butter blossoms, cranberry pecan clusters, and mix up a batch of cookies for tomorrow. My new food processor/blender will be here today so I'll wash that so it is ready for use.

I signed up and bought a ticket for the women's luncheon tomorrow but I think I'm going to pass. I just got over a cold I don't want to be around people who could be under the weather. I need to stay healthy until after Christmas now. I could wear my mask but hard to eat then. One hundred people in a smaller space makes me very anxious. What was I thinking in the first place. I'ld much rather clean house.

I'm back.  Been busy since I got up.  Computer was giving me a hard time about doing the morning picture which wasn't exactly how I wanted to start my day.  We started out at 26°, it is sunny and is calling for 51°for the high.  I said I wasn't going to cook today but since the numbers are so high for dinner decided there were a few things I could get done today so have been cooking shrimp.  I love them sous vide no worry about over cooking.  I am on my second pound now have 2 more after that.  They take 25 minutes once the water temperature come up to 135°.  Worst part will be peeling them.  May sit and watch a little TV tonight and do that.  I have my the squash in to peel and get cooked.  I probably should consider baking it and then I wouldn't need to peel it. I have also got those darn minutes typed and sent out. This afternoon I will get the greenhouse completely emptied and take it down tomorrow as it is suppose to be in the low 50's again tomorrow but not as much sun.  I absolutely have to water the plants in the shop and get all of my 5 gallon pails filled in there.  I need to go to town sometime this afternoon to do a little more shopping for Monday night and get those last 2 turkey breasts from the freezer.  I need to also pick up the mail.  I am out of one of my meds and they are sitting in the mailbox.

Ann, glad you enjoyed your pedicure.  You can't have much food shopping to do with what Baldwin has to offer for meals.  It is great how you can order some of there offerings and put them into your own cooking.

Tasty, you have a busy day planned.  Enjoy your lunch out.  What are you baking for tomorrow.  At least you will be inside that may attack more people.

Mamma, you are up and at it this morning for sure.  Your cookies all sound great.  I haven't made cookies at Christmas for gifts in quite a while.  Maybe if I find time that is what I will do this year.  Thanks for the compliment on the pictures but most I didn't take.  We have a local Facebook page that lots of folks post there pictures of the area and that is where most of the ones I post come from.  I have gotten lazy and don't use my camera very much anymore which takes great pictures but my phone is handy and works OK.  This morning was my picture about 6:30 this morning off my front deck.

Lori, Drs. and therapy do take of a lot of your time but if they are helping and it sounds like they are as you seem to be doing more in more, I am sure it is time well spent.  I love the snack mixes but hate to buy a big box of serial that will go stale before I use it up.  I am craving my mix I created with peanuts and cashews done with the chill oil I make.

Back to my shrimp.  The current batch is just about done.

Good morning. Well plans didn't work out, lol I had made a 6 :30 appointment but it was still dark. And on my drivers license it says daytime driving only, so I wasn't sure. I called to cancel but they didn't answer their phones until right at 6:30.Remember my hubby does not drive.

Then I went for my walk, I was hoping to see the hot air balloons in the air but to windy for them to launch.

Lori- I hope you pass your drivers test . It was just an eye exam and I only missed one letter so I can't figure out how that determines whether I can drive at night.
Good luck at your appointments today. I hope you hear some positive progress .

Tammy- when does Dave start his dialysis?

Tasty- I hope you sell out at the market.

Chris- how is Brian doing?

I take Mavis in 1/2 hour for an ultra sound and an echo. I need to look up what an echo is so I roughly know how long I will be sitting.
