Morning! It's another cold start, but the wind won't be a big factor today. Our tour of the area gave us some good tips in getting around more easily. Roads around here are, as our guide told us, are mostly hot topped cow paths so roads are curvy rather than strait. Lunch was, as usual, delicious. I had a bunless burger and my friend had pork flatbread. I wasn't hungry for supper, but Bill was! He ordered a burger. I finished the spaghetti squash! I think we will go down to the restaurant and have the wagyu beef dinner. I have a pedicure after we go to the gym, but no other plans. Enjoy your day! Waving!

Good morning friends.
Ann- Glad you got a good tour and helpful information. Always a good thing. I got my spa pedi yesterday and I love them.
Bet- Another awesome picture! Hope today goes good for you.
No plans for today so far. I will see what I can get into! LOL Might make cookies as Mamma has inspired me (or made me hungry for them)
Have a great day all!

Ann, nice to get a tour around the area to see what is available and the best way to get there. I thought all roads were just cow paths with either some gravel or a little blacktop on them and what is a straight road. Going down the hill to the main road my compass reads north, south east and west in the 4 miles to the main road. Those are the type of roads I drive everyday when working. Enjoy your pedicure today.
Chris, Enjoy making cookies. I haven't made any in a while. I got a new receipt for a Nutella lava cake to cook in the air fryer and makes 2 4oz ramekins and I guess I have to be like Jan and measure everything out early as by the time I have dinner I am too tired.
Tammy, a bit of a scare with DH. Glad he was able to come home and not stay overnight in the emergency room. You have a lot of cooking coming up.
Lori, hope you lick that cold soon.
Mamma, your lows are starting to be our highs. I haven't made spritz in years. They never seem to come out right for me. Hope you find a place to move to soon. Someone mentioned you and Lincoln taking a look at the situation when he visits. Sounds like a good plan.
Birdy, always good to hear from you. Seeing many birds at the feeder?
Tasty, your cooking year is winding down rapidly with the Christmas sale coming up.
Elaine, you spend a lot of time sitting around in Dr.'s offices. I am afraid I wouldn't be very good at that but you are a real blessing to many folks.
Elza, good that DH was able to get some of your warmer clothes from the house. Has the insurance company and the contractor come to any kind of agreement yet so reconstruction can get started on your house?
Jan, I love the lakes. They are each unique in their own way. Also all of the small ponds that you can hike into. Been to the ocean I think twice and just wasn't impressed.
Helen, hope you get a lot more years from your heating system. Every time they clean mine the suggest that I may need to replace it in the near future. That started about 4 years ago so am holding my breath.
The last batch of rolls are in the oven and they will be finished. I got the last 2 turkey breasts cooked and deboned and another pot of turkey stock made. Just finished skimming the fat off that and am warming it up to get it into jars so it doesn't take up so much room in the refrigerator. Looks like I will what a total of 6 quarts for making gravy, in the dressing and warming up the meat to serve it. No more cooking for the dinner until at least Saturday now or maybe even Sunday then the rush is on to get everything done and ready to transport by 4 o'clock Monday. Final count for Monday night is 27. I need to count the number of shrimp in each bag to be sure I have enough I am close. I have a lot of other things to get done for the meeting besides cooking. We are inducting 2 new members Monday night so need to get all that paperwork done. Still need to type the minutes from the last meeting and get them emailed out. It is good thing work is slow this week. I worked Monday and Tuesday and won't work again until this coming Tuesday.
I started this about an hour ago and got sidetracked.

Just found this. My neighbors always gave me the little pumpkins they used to decorate. They went in my compost heap and you can see who enjoyed them. Birdy

Good morning. Out and back and the towels in the washer. I hope the wash gets done before they turn off the water at 8. They are putting in new water lines for the shrubs and trees.
Last night I mixed up and got the cinnamon roll cookies ready to slice and bake this morning. A trip to the bank this morning too and then I'm done for the day. Really I am. ;) I'll be soaking my foot in epsom salts this afternoon and hope that it helps like everyone is telling me. I have my doubts though. But, hey, I'll try almost anything to relieve the pain.
It took me forever to fall asleep last night. I think I was over tired. But once I fell asleep I slept pretty good. Mandy and I didn't go out until almost 7 because I slept in a bit this morning. No more 6:30 until summer.
Ann, how nice to get a tour to get to know your new area.
Bet, I just love your beautiful pictures. You must win a lot of photo contests. Wow!!!! Yes, I'm taking Lincoln around to look at the park I am currently in and hopefully some others that I am hoping to find a home. Where do you find all your energy. My goodness girl, you wear me out just reading all that you do.
Chris, no plans for the day can be a good thing. Now enjoy some "Chris" time and have a fun day.
One more cup of coffee and then change the sheets.

My sleeping pattern has been all whacked up with all the company I've been having lately. I do treasure my solitude, I admit. I did have to order a small grocery delivery last nite, though. I'm enjoying my roast in its various versions but ran out of Heinz 57 sauce early on. Horrors! I'm having a kind of Shepherd's Pie for supper tonite but instead of ground beef I'm making it with roast beef. One more meal tomorrow and this pot roast will have served me well. Before I forget, I wanted to thank all who reassured me the furnace could well last several more years. That's what the guy said, too. But having my hot water tank replaced last week, I'm leery of another big expense. Que sera, sera, as Doris sang so sweetly. Bummer, I can't get that tune out of my head now! Big hugs

Hello. After my walk this morning ,I had an appointment with the DMV to get a new license. Now, on my license it says daytime driving only. I don't drive at night as the lights bother my eyes but now to have it on paper is depressing.
Birdy and Bet- love both of the pictures.
Ann- that picture of your meal looked good.
I still haven't made cookies. At Sam's club I bought the holiday muffins. They are huge but they sure sounded good. Apple pie, pumpkin and orange cranberry.
I have cards this afternoon and evening.

A quick hello to all! Bet and Birdy, nice pictures---thanks for sharing! Ann, sounds like the fieldtrip yesterday was enjoyable. Hopefully you found some new backroads to help make your travels around town easier. mamma, a cinnamon roll cookie would be most delicious I am certain with my cup of tea this afternoon. I'd like to bake as well but will be out the door in a few minutes for an OT appointment. Helen, your dinner sounds interesting. I admire how many different meals that you've been able to make out of one simple roast. Chris, wherever the day takes you, enjoy. Some of the best turn out to be those with no plans. Elaine, sorry the DMV has officially labeled you on the license as only being able to drive during the day. I need to renew my license in a couple of weeks, and I wonder what they'll label me. I've never been one that enjoyed night driving, but in the event of an emergency, I'm hoping they don't remove it. Looks like it will be a chicken pot pie for dinner this evening. Time to get out the door, fight a bit of traffic, and arrive at my 3:00 appointment on time and in one piece! Lori

It's cold and rainy here today. I mixed up the chili yesterday and turned on the crockpot as I left this morning. So my house smells good right now. Looking forward to a nice warm supper.
Bet, hoping to have an estimate from the contractor this weekend. Good news is that we are starting to get reimbursement checks for the $ we spent on housing, meals, clothes, etc.
Birdy, love the picture. That has to be one happy squirrel.
Big wave to everybody -- I need to get some dusting done.

Well so much for not more cooking until at least Saturday. I keep checking the amount of turkey I have cooked and the number I am feeding and now since the number for dinner is has jumped to 30. First thing tomorrow morning I am headed to town to get the other 2 breast in the freezer and get them cooked. I would rather have leftovers that I can freeze than not enough to serve everyone or serve skimpy servings. I can freeze leftovers and make another meal later in the year with them even if I need to buy a bit more turkey. Can really stretch meat in a casserole. However I have 2 batches of rolls made that make 30 so guess I will be making another batch. Everything else I have plenty of supplies to feed this crowd.
I have kept rather busy today. Emptied the dishwasher from last night refilled it and emptied it again and started filling the next load. Package up the hotdogs I bought this week and got them in the freezer and portioned the chicken breasts and they are now downstairs on sheet pan freezing. Got what was in the refrigerator freezer upstairs packaged and moved downstairs. The little chest freezer I defrosted the other day is now stocked and inventoried with what goes in there. I still need to get what I did in the freezers updated in the computer but not until after Monday night.
Easy dinner tonight hotdogs and Van Camp pork and beans. A little R&R and to bed. Tomorrow is going to be busier than I planned.
Enjoy your evening.

Good evening, It was a good day at the shop-we made $900.00! The weather was beautiful too.
DH drove up north for his class to learn about the dialysis. He had no idea of his schedule. I got 2 boxed lunches from Care. They served roast today. I got a text that he got home about 2. I got here about 2:45, but he did not eat right away, even though he had not had lunch. So he had his roast for supper and I heated up some leftover roast and noodles from last week.
Tomorrow we will leave when I get off work and head to Galveston. We are going out to eat somewhere with Debbie and Richard, then go to the concert. It is Straight No Chaser. Probably won't be here at all tomorrow.
Sounds like it was a nice day for all...hope tomorrow follows suit. Waving!

What a great day at the shop Tammy! The canning group went out for lunch today and had a lovely time, with great food and a really fabulous waiter. Tomorrow will be a busy one for me as I get busy in the afternoon baking loaves for Saturday. Before that I will pick up boxes of donated chicken livers for our pate maker to get busy and head for lunch with another group of friends - it's a tough life but someone has to do it 🤪!
