Good morning friends.
Yesterday was a "break even" day. I made my table money back is about all. Was less people than last year by far.
Lori- Good to hear that the cough is being helped.
Bet- I hope you got some rest last night. You sound tired.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning! It's below freezing this morning, but the wind is far less. Visit with cousins was great. Normie, who is approaching 90 had lots of questions for me about Baldwin. In the end, he decided living here was good, but not for him. Seems he wouldn't have room for his train set which now takes up a whole bedroom in his home! And then there's the miniature planes and boats he likes to 'play' with...would need room to fly and sail them!!! I had a Turkey Rachael with apple slaw on toasted rye...so good! The others had burgers or smoked pork flatbread. We all enjoyed a small cup of corn chowder. Karen brought me a huge bowl of creamed spinach! I put most of it in zip locks for the freezer, but did mix some of it into the rice we had last night. Terry brought me a spaghetti squash from her garden. Will have to cook it, but want to find an interesting recipe. I only ate half a sandwich which Bill finished for me. Supper was a shrimp stuffed mushroom and a pork chop with leftover rice and roasted golden beets. Dessert was a peanut butter parfait...not my favorite, but good. Tonight I am making baked coconut shrimp, mini-eggrolls, and Cole slaw. The recipe calls for three egg whites so I'll make a frittata with the yolks and some mushrooms that need to be used up for breakfast tomorrow. Will go to the gym later this morning. I set up our new portable radiator in the master bath. It did a good job making the room pleasant for taking a shower. It's a head scratcher why neither bathroom has a heat vent. No one had an answer when I asked other than saying to keep the bathroom door open so the heat migrates into the room. That won't work for us!!!! LOL Other than reading my Kindle book and watching Colombo on Tubi, I have no other plans. Have a good'un!! Waving!

Good morning.
Mandy was quick this morning. It's only 46º, sun is not quite over the mountains and thankfully no wind.
No plans today other than church. I'm hoping that my foot will cooperate and Mandy and I can go for a short walk. High today of 80. I thought we were done with the 80's but I see a few more will sneak in now and then this coming week. And I hope my smoking neighbors will cut back on their smoking so I can have a fan set up in the evening to cool down rather than use the a/c.
Last night my friend Jill told me she is putting her place up for sale. She hates this park too. Her place needs A LOT of work so she won't get what she wants. And right now it's a sellers market. So she won't be able to afford much if anything. Jill is not working and hasn't for some time now. And she is too young for SS. But maybe her sister will front her some money. I also found that three others behind me are selling too. That makes the total 11 that are selling. Our rent is going up and this place is not worth the extra money. The owners won't fix anything, they just band aide things. It really looks run down. And yes I'm still looking for another place in a different park too. But I want to stay in the foothills.
Time to refill my coffee cup and then make the bed.

Good morning everyone. Lori, thank you for the recipe, I’ve copied it. I won’t bawl you out for posting it as I see by your post yesterday that you are on the mend. So glad you found a doctor that would give you something to help you on the way to feeling better. Yes, your DH is a keeper, for sure. Chris, sorry to hear your craft show was a bust yesterday and after all the hard work you put into it. Ann, how nice you had such a nice visit with your cousins. Always nice to see family you don’t see very often and can play ‘catch-up’. Bet, Hi. Love the picture. Mamma, wow, that’s a lot of places for sale in your park. You’d think the owners would take the hint that residents are unhappy. Not much going on here, will do clothes laundry today, first load in. Left it longer than usual, had to split it into several loads. Off to put the first one into the dryer. Bbl, Jan

G'Day Mates! A sad day is here for us. Our young brother-in-law passed away yesterday afternoon. He was loved. He will be so very missed. It took him a while to pass, but he finally passed easy. He was a man of great faith and great values. There will be only a memorial sometime in the future.
DH and I are in the beginning of the packing stage for our trip to see our daughter. I washed Jelly Bean's car bed and the darn ting fell apart in the washer.....so another "thing" to either find and buy or find time to make. I think I will make a new one, then I can make it more to his size. Nothing but time, right?
Weather here has been warm and today we are having rain. Maybe a good day to make the pattern for the dog bed. Hobby Lobby is closed, but I have pattern-coded paper and can get the coated fabrics tomorrow to finish up.
Ann, it seems strange that there wouldn't be heat vents in a bathroom. It must have been a man that drew up the original plans!! lol
Bet, again, please consider sending some of your energy my way. I look forward to your pictures.
Mamma, sometimes you have to just change the paradigm of your thinking. It is difficult to change, but it can make a tremendous difference in the way one feels and functions. Perhaps when Lincoln comes, his visit will help.
Chris, I was hoping you would have a great day at the fair. You just never know what the day will bring. I am in the mood to stitch up a scrap quilt, so might take my boards with me and draw something up while at DD's. I saw a circular quilt with circles and thought that would be pretty neat to make. It would be a hodgepodge of fabrics so would be wild!!
well, I have a wooden floor that is telling me it wants to be shined.....so I guess I need to get with it. Or on it! Like most of you, I am so glad the election stuff is done and over. With Monday being Veterans Day, DH and I both have a free dinner at a pretty nifty restaurant. So we are looking forward to that...we have two weeks to do so, so maybe the night before we leave so there will be no dishes, etc. to worry about.

Chris, sorry the sales weren't that great yesterday. Lot of time spent to see no profit for it.
Ann, I guess Normie would definitely have a problem with all of his toys.
Mamma, hope you can find something soon to buy.
I have done well so far this morning. The rolls are baked, cooled, wrapped and in the freezer. There are 2 turkey breasts are out of the oven cooling so I can debone them.. The kitchen is cleaned up for the moment. I want to get all the celery and onions cut and cooked for the dressing. They will keep just fine in the refrigerator. Then it is back to the basement to hopefully finish up the freezers. First however I need to check the sale ads for the week.

Good morning. Coco and I went for our walk, it was cool.i would like to make some oatmeal and raisin cookies, but that would mean a trip to the store for brown sugar.
Ann-its great that your uncle is still able to reside in his home. It sounds like he is active with his toys. That is strange about no heat vent in the bathroom.
Chris- I'm glad you at least made your space rent ,but.....
Bet- you have been busy this morning.
Mamma-i could never live in the foothills, that day I was out there for 4 hours my vehicle was filthy, all that dessert dirt. We keep our windows open all the time in town here, yes it gets dusty but not like that and I was surrounded by buildings as Wendy's was in front and walmart on the side of the strip mall where the dentist was.
TM- I am sorry about your loss, hugs and prayers .
Jan- there is 2 dog beds on our free table, I am thinking someone must of lost their dog. When are you leaving?

Hi All. I finished up "The Gilded Age" on HBO late last nite. It was great even though I avoid series. Takes forever but this one was worth it. I am waiting for my grocery order to be delivered this afternoon. Would like to grab a nap sometime before or after. Supper tonite will be last nite's leftovers of Tuna Casserole. Hope your Sunday has been a good one.

Good afternoon, TM, I am so sorry for your loss. Praying for comfort.
Sorry you did not do so well at the craft fair, Chris. Hopefully the next one will be much better.
Mamma, I can tell you are very excited for Lincoln's visit! I thought we'd be alone for Thanksgiving, but then middle DS wants to come. And...last night youngest DS said they could come Wednesday, be here Thursday but needed to leave Friday. A full house! I doubt the middle DS will stay here though as they live about 1 hour away.
Nothing of note happened all weekend. I worked yesterday, and we had frito chili pie for supper. DH coughed most of the night so he stayed home from church. I did go but came straight home. He requested mac and cheese for lunch so I made that, also had a nice nap.
No plans tomorrow except grocery shopping. It may be a big bill. Next Saturday is our ladies monthly brunch. My problem is that I am going to a concert in Galveston on Friday evening, which is when I do a lot of my prep. I am planning to make a turkey on a charcuterie board. I have snapped several photos of them. I will probably end up making a combination of several. So, on Saturday morning I will have a couple helpers to get it made. Probably just a fruit salad to go with it.
Today was overcast and gloomy all day until a few moments ago. Now the sun is out.
Waving to everyone. Have a sweet evening and sleep well.

Hey to everybody. After a hot and humid Friday and a lovely sunny but pleasant Saturday, it is cold and raining today. Feels like November for sure! A good day to curl up on the sofa with a book or a ball game.
Our dinner at the Grill last night was soooo good. My sister & I both had the soup of the day -- Beef Burgundy -- and salad. Mushrooms, carrots, onions, and tender pieces of beef in a rich, smooth, decadent soup. A cup was plenty! Of course we had dessert -- pumpkin streusel cake with vanilla ice cream and a caramel drizzle for me & DH to share.
After church DH went to pick up roast beef sandwiches from Arbys for a quick lunch, but it took forever and he came home with sliders instead. He said they didn't have the regular roast beef sandwiches. No idea what's up with that, but a least they gave him a free apple turnover for his trouble.

Good evening.
TM. sorry to read of your lost.
It has been a long busy day but I got everything done I wanted. The turkey breasts are deboned and in the refrigerator. I will package and freeze them tomorrow night hopefully. The vegetables for the dressing are also cooked and in the refrigerator. Both upright freezers are sorted and inventoried. However, they look like a mess as I emptied the little chest freezer and it is defrosting. Hopefully Wednesday I can get that back together and inventoried. It has been a long job but everything is recorded on the computer and now that I know what I have hopefully I will keep it that way. It was nice reading the weekly ads and being able to sit at the computer and check if I needed anything that was on sale. Sales were good this week and got some good buys on meat that I was low on to restock the freezer.
I need to get some dinner. It will be turkey vegetable soup and grilled cheese again tonight. Plan was to have a panini but realized there was no way I was going to be able to find the roll in the freezers as that is one thing that got moved out of the chest to somewhere and I wanted baked french onion soup but didn't have any mozzarella cheese upstairs and couldn't get to that either.
Back to work tomorrow. I am running on 12 1/2 hours almost nonstop right now so the bed is looking awful good shortly.
Enjoy your evening.

Hi! good late afternoon/early evening to all!
Spent most of my day in the kitchen again. I began by making a double batch of banana chocolate chip bread-got 11 mini-loaves, then made a small batch of apple sauce as the apples were getting to the point of no return. Once the kitchen was cleaned up, my DB called, then I got interested in watching the football game (Bucs lost again), and finally I just took my morning shower this evening. Now I thought I'd hop on here before I help DH get dinner on the table--Trader Joe's Orange Chicken and Veggie Fried Rice.
Bet, between all you did yesterday and again today, I'm tired just reading what you have been doing! I am sure the minute your head hits the pillow at night, you have no problem falling into a deep sleep! Yum, that Thanksgiving meal for the Lions members is going to be a delicious feast!
Chris, sorry to read that the craft fair was a break-even day for you. Craft fairs were once dime a dozen back in Michigan and down here--- something I always looked forward and enjoyed. Sadly, I no longer see them advertised by local groups or the churches down here and therefore, it's been years since I've been to one.
mamma, sorry that there is currently so many homes up for sale in your park. I hope that you can take time, maybe an afternoon when Lincoln is down visiting, and together the two of you might be able to shop around.
Elaine, did you get over to the store for brown sugar in order to bake those cookies? Congrats to your Vikings with a win over the Jaguars. DH and I will be watching our Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football later this evening.
Ann, Normie sounds like he's an active almost 90 kind of guy that really enjoys his toys! No heater vents in the bathrooms, oh my. If I had my way, my bathroom would have a heated floor, heated towel rack, and a heated toilet seat!!! LOL
TM, prayers being said for your recent loss. Wishing you and DH safe travels to see DD. I am sure Jellybean's new car bed will be more comfortable for the trip rather than a store bought one---good that you are so talented and can whip something up like that 1-2-3.
Dinner is ready and I never got to the kitchen to help DH. I will continue with this after I eat...
Helen, glad you finished your series on HBO and enjoyed it too. Hope by now your grocery delivery arrived and you were able to grab a quick afternoon nap.
Jan, hope you and DH had a nice day, even if you did nothing but laundry. I got some bedding washed this afternoon and when I stood up from the table, I just threw in a load of whites.
Friends, with my continued many doctor appointments, ongoing PT and OT appointments, and now this nasty cold/cough, I sadly regret that I will not be able to take charge of our Christmas card exchange this year. I've been praying that my health would bounce back quickly, but since that is not appearing to be the case, it's time for me to turn over the reins. Lori
