Morning on this below freezing (24°) start. Changing the clocks sure messes me up either way! Hate it! Our ham dinner was delicious last night. I braised the ham in beer then added Dijon and onion to the remaining juice for a sauce. Not sure what I'll do with the leftover ham...thinking on it! No plans for today at the moment. Enjoy yours! Waving!

Good morning from cold Vermont!
Ann- I made that Chicken last night for supper and it was a hit with Dan. Today is a sewing day as I have a craft fair on Saturday. November and December are busy with craft fairs.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning to all! Nothing special going on here today.
This evening will be a recipe for Ham Delights. I got the recipe from a fellow teacher years ago and when I think about it, it might actually be more of an appetizer---hot/baked shaved ham and shredded Swiss cheese in a buttery sauce on mini-sliders. Oh well, that's what I was hungry for, so I'll pair it up with some pickles, chips and small green salad.
Need to get moving early this morning. Hope I can get back here later. Waving and wishing each of you a beautiful day! Lori

Good morning everyone. Ann, this time change messes with everyone is seems. Why do they continue to do it? Always talking about doing away with it. Chris, just copied the chicken recipe, lots of breasts in the freezer. Lori, your Ham Delights sound like something we would like. Is the recipe in the cookbook here? Bet, that’s beautiful. No sun here yesterday. Supposed to rain the next few days, then maybe we’ll see some sun. Just past 6am here, must go and get ready for our dentist appointments, have to leave the house by 7:30. Bbl. Good morning. Another chilly windy morning with increasing winds throughout the day. Good day to stay indoors and do whatever. I've got the washer going and on my second cup of coffee. When the clothes are dry I'll have a few things to iron. That is about it for my day.
Last night I slept pretty good and am trying to get my internal clock to change. So instead of getting out of bed when I woke up at 6 I rolled over and tried to fall back to sleep. It didn't work but I didn't get out of bed at 6 either. Mandy didn't mind at all. She never gets up until I've headed to the coffee pot. Good girl. :)
Jan, I wish that the time would just stay on Standard time. There is no need for DST anymore. No time change here, but it sure messes up my chat time with friends and family who have a time change.
Yesterday Lynda and I were talking about how our food tastes have changed over the years. As we got older so many things that we liked no longer appeal to us. And boy oh boy have my tastes changed. There isn't much of anything that I like or appeal to me anymore. Just the thought of meat makes me gag and I've always loved most meats, never was a fan of fowl though. And now even a burger makes me cringe. With a burger I think it's more the bun than the actual meat. Buns are not something I eat more than two bites and then it is tossed. Maybe this is all part of the reason I no longer enough cooking. My husband ate almost anything so he was fun to cook for.
On that note, lunch will be creamed veggies and supper will be beef veggie soup with very small pieces of beef.
Happy Monday.

Grocery shopping dine for the month. $209 poorer. LOL It was raining ice pellets in Claremont this morning. Roads were a bit dicy there for a few miles over the mountain.
Jan- That chicken recipe is a keeper for sure. It is really easy to put together too.
Mamma- My tastes are about the same as they have always been. Strange for me I guess. We have cut down, way down on red meats here. Better for Dan. I love Chicken, turkey and fish so we are good.

Good Morning ! Always the rebel I guess, the time change does not bother me. I did sleep in some. I already have most of what I need for the mission lunch tomorrow, so will not have to buy much. DH needed the car for a doctor appointment this morning so I will shop this afternoon. I need to count the potatoes and see how many I actually have. I also want to open a bag of the prepared chili and see if it needs any doctoring up. Marty is making cookies for me, so pretty much all I need to get is salad fixings.
It seems to be overcast this morning, but no rain-hooray. The ground is still very wet from our 3 days of rain. Sure is helping the drought though. Current temp is 76*.
I copied the recipe Chris and will make it soon. Thanks for suggesting magnesium. I'll look for some today. DH gets cramps fairly often, like his mom. I don't get them very often.
Not sure what's for supper tonight. I was going to see what's on sale at the store. The rest of today will be regular household chores like laundry.
We had planned on being alone for Thanksgiving. Our kids usually spend either Thanksgiving or Christmas with their in laws. We alternate years. I figured we would go to Care for lunch. But....our son called and he wants to have Thanksgiving here. This is middle son who lives 1 hour north of us. He is going to bring the turkey, and I will do the remaining. We are planning on having Christmas in Amarillo, and I doubt they will be able to make that trip.
Everyone was raving about the coconut cashew brittle that I made and had enough left that I took a bag out to the camp out. I am going to make more and give it to members of our Bible study during Christmastime. I'll post the recipe if it is not already in "our cookbook". I was happy with the way it turned out. I had never made any sort of brittle before!
Waving to everyone. I hope it is a fabulous day for all!

If anyone is wanting the coconut cashew brittle, it is basically the same recipe as Peko Brittle posted by Marlene over in Our Cookbook, under candy. Just use cashews rather than peanuts.

Morning, again! Bill and I went to the early exercise class. It feels good to have it over! Maintenance came and replaced the filter in the fridge. Our ice maker was turning out very little ice, and the water fountain in the fridge was running really slow...took such a long time to fill a glass! Lori - Mentioning ham for dinner made me think of making a ham salad with the leftover ham. I Googled recipes using tzatziki and feta with ham and found a recipe that I'm going to adapt. I got the idea for using those different ingredients because they needed to be used up. I hate those tickle coughs. The only thing that helps me to stop is a "Fisherman's Friend" throat lozenge. They are definitely not candy sweet, and I've gotten used to the taste. Funny thing, cough syrup suppressants make me cough more so I stopped taking them. The lozenges don't do that to me. Tammy - Glad that the cashew brittle came out good. I don't know if we will be exchanging food gifts around here so not sure if I'll be making anything. Bill ordered crab cakes for dinner tonight. I ordered the salmon and will make a salmon pie with a curried mashed potato 'crust' for something different. I'm ready for a new dinner menu!! There's a new lunch menu so a new dinner menu isn't far behind. Elaine - This might be a solution to your password problem. "If you forgot your phone password, the most common way to access your phone is to attempt to unlock it with the wrong password multiple times, which will usually prompt a "Forgot Password" option where you can then try to reset it." Hope it works!! Mamma - You got me thinking about making coconut shrimp! Google to the rescue with one that I will try. www.allrecipes.com/recipe/215014/baked-coconut-shrimp/ It looks easy. With the price of eggs, I would use the leftover egg yolks in an omelet. I think the baked would taste even better than fried...lighter! Chris - Copied that recipe to try. Time to wrap this up. Waving to all! Enjoy the rest of your day.

Jan, I do not believe I have ever posted the recipe for Ham Delights, but I'll tell you what---I'll gladly do so, but it will have to be later. Sorry--- My cold is hanging on and DH just called the doctor because he's tired of my deep cough. DH said he doesn't want to see this turn into a pneumonia and feels I'm too weak to kick it on my own, so I've got an appointment in less than an hour. I really don't feel like going into the office this afternoon, but agree, I may just need a little help with this since it hasn't gotten better in a week.
Currently 86*, our feel-like temperature is 90*. It's been partly cloudy all day, but the sun has finally popped out. Gotta go--- Lori

Saying a prayer for you Lori.
I have been meaning to make banana bread and finally it is in the oven now. I had to wait awhile to leave and go grocery shopping because DH has a new prescription he wants me to pick up while in town, so I needed to give the pharmacy plenty of time. Luckily I don't need much from the store. I found a rack of ribs that DH smoked for Bob. I think he did 4. Bob took 3 and gave us one. So that's for supper. I'll get side dishes when I'm out.

Lori, don’t even think about posting the recipe for Ham Delights. We all here want you to get completely well. That’s the most important right now. Hope the doctor can suggest something that will work for you. Take care. Jan
