Good morning! It's 27° and clear this morning. Slept much longer this morning so I guess I was tired!! Didn't set the clocks last night so have that to do this morning. We both had coconut shrimp dinners last night with a side salad. We had dessert while watching the last episode of 'Call the Midwife'...carrot cake!! We will go to the gym this morning. I will cook the smoked ham and we'll have it with roasted root veggies from the restaurant. I so like the idea that I don't have to peel and chop anything! Besides brunch, there are few activities scheduled for today. I may go down to the game room later this afternoon. Will see if I can pull myself away from my book. Also watching Netflix's 'The Perfect Couple' and have two more episodes. Enjoy your Sunday! Waving!

Good morning friends. Our lamb chops were so good last night, really enjoyed them. Very simple veggies with them, roast potatoes, peas and carrots. Tonight will be something from the freezer and right now, I'm thinking beef stew that I put in there a couple of weeks ago, or perhaps a coq au vin. We will have one last game of golf this morning but I think it's going to be chilly - there was quite a heavy frost last night. Our clocks are all changed bar the coffee maker and that will be done later. Between us we got them all done last night. The bed has been stripped and remade and that is probably all that will be done today. I'm thinking by the time we get home, we could well be quite tired. Have a lovely day 🙂.

Good morning. Not in a very good mood this morning so not sure I'll go to church. But then again the friends there make me smile. The message is nothing to write home about. And now that the birds are here I think this Sunday may be the last for awhile anyway.
Windy and chilly. The only day with no wind this week is Tuesday and I get my haircut that day. My stylist has been in Chicago so I look like a sheep dog. I'm not sure of the price now that she is in a new shop. But she said it is the same. We will see if I get a senior price or not. WM shop has senior prices. Every penny saved helps.
Ann, I love coconut shrimp. Now with no Red Lobster here anymore, I won't be having that again. The stuff in the store is all breading.
Soup for lunch and tv dinner for supper, I think.

Good morning everyone. Ann, carrot cake is my all time favourite dessert. Bet, very pretty rainbow, even if it is stormy out there, the lake looks ‘choppy’. Tasty, sure hope your final golf game isn’t as chilly as you think it will be. I pulled something from the freezer too. Mamma, I’m going to be shaggy too. My next haircut will be in December. Stylist went to England for a few weeks, she’s from there, not been back since Covid hit. Chris, not much planned here either. Sort through a few more things for the girls, do dishwasher, pop supper in the oven. Tomorrow we both have dentist appointments first thing, then shop for a few groceries, pick up meds. Tuesday, it’s doctor appointment first thing. Then think that’s it for the week, I hope. Supper tonight will be chicken thighs with a mushroom sauce on top, baked in oven. Rice to go with, because there’ll be lots of sauce. Bbl. Jan

Chris, just reading of your schedule for next week exhausts me. You’d deserve a day of rest after that. Better rest up today too. Yeh, that chicken dish is an old standby here. Just use whatever leftover sauce I have in the freezer. Jan

Hi there, friends! This cold I picked up this past week has given me a few rougher days. This morning when my DB called, I had such a coughing spell I had to hang up and call him back once I got myself under control. I feel better than yesterday, but since I don't want to overdo it, I'll spend some time today relaxing in front of the TV, watching football. Go Lions!!
Bet, what a lovely picture this morning! I'll echo Chris by saying you live in a very pretty area.
Ann, that's so nice that if you're not in the mood to do the peeling or chopping of whatever, all you have to do is go down to the restaurant and pick it up. I love root veggies too, some days it can be more than I feel like dealing with. Enjoy your dinner.
Tasty, glad you and hubby will get in that last day of golf. I saw where your new kitchen appliances are arriving this week---great!
mamma, I hope when you go to get your haircut this week that you find your gal did not go up in price. The shop where DH and I have been getting our haircut for years recently went up $2 a cut. Since we only get a cut every 5 weeks or so and we like the gal and her work, we'll pay the increase. Sadly, as you know from being out in the stores, etc. everything keeps going up (but our paychecks, right?).
Chris, whatever your day holds, make it a good one.
Considering how active the backside of hurricane season has been, temperatures and the water are staying hot so we'll not surprised if there will be something to develop this week in the Carribean or Gulf waters. I don't want to see any area hit and have to go through what Florida has gone through. Right now, forecasters are not saying too much, but one of our stations did mention that some areas of the state will see more rain than we'd like to. Ugh! Currently 84* and partly cloudy, a high of 88* expected later.
Dinner will be porkchops baked in a mushroom sauce. For something new and different, we'll be making an orzo stuffing with celery, dried cranberries, onions, and pecans.
Waving and wishing all a lovely day. Lori

A lazy Sunday afternoon -- this weekend has been quieter and more relaxing than last weekend and we are both enjoying it. We stayed up last night to watch our Gamecocks get a big win over Texas A&M. Thoroughly enjoyed that! I was glad that we had an extra hour of sleep!
Ater church we had BBQ for lunch and brought home enough for another meal each. There are things I need to pick up at the store but they can wait until after work tomorrow. Later I want to get out for a walk, since there's a park just about a block away.
Ann, sounds like you have a pleasantly busy day planned.
Bet, that is a beautiful picture -- you don't often see a complete rainbow like that.
Tasty, hope you enjoy the golf game without being too cold.
Mamma, fingers crossed that the price for your haircut doesn't go up.
Chris, I am so impressed by people who cut their own hair. My younger sister does that. I cut my own bangs once, many years ago, and it did not turn out well. Never again!
Jan, I love carrot cake, too. My DMiL always makes it for Thanksgiving dinner and I am already looking forward to it.
Lori, I'm sorry you're dealing with the annoyance of a cough and cold and hope neither one lasts long. I had a sudden cough come on me during the last hymn at church this morning -- that is why I keep a couple of Ricola drops at the piano! I was grateful for them today!

Good afternoon. It has been sunny here most of the day and I think the temp got up to about 45. I should have been outside working but got involved with email first thing and one of the recipe blogs I follow had an interesting recipe for chicken. It is boneless skinless chicken breasts backed in cola and BBQ sauce. Since I have the breasts for one months dinner for the Lions thought it might be something different so of course that is what I am having for dinner tonight. Needed a starch side so then started searching my recipes plus on the internet. Found an interesting Greek Lemon roasted potato so that is the side tonight. As most of you know I make most of my groceries and I have been negligent lately about making things when I use something up. I have no BBQ sauce so first thing this morning I made a batch of BBQ sauce. That takes an hour to cook. While in the refrigerator I realized had didn't have any tarter sauce or remoulade so proceeded to make both of those. Will in the panty shopping all the ingredients I needed I saw imitation crab in the freezer and decided I would like to have some crab cakes available for a meal. My birds are back so up from the base came everything to make Birdy's suet cakes. Just finished them. Also am having a green salad for dinner tonight and had to make Italian Dressing for that as all I have is Ranch made. Going through the refrigerator prompted me to check out the cabinet with all of my dry mixes. I now have a list of those. Need condensed soup mix, brown sauce mix and onion soup mix. There is now a sticky note on that cabinet door with the list. If I have everything I need I will get them done today yet. I need to make a quick trip to town to get a can of cola so I can do the chicken tonight so will check for supplies before I leave to do that.
I need to get dressed and get to town so if I don't get back tonight.
Enjoy your evening.
Bet

I'm back after a lovely time on the golf course. The weather was gorgeous even if it was not too hot. The sky was lovely and it looked as if someone had taken a paint brush gently over the clouds. Played with a couple I sort of know, having played with them occasionally over the years. There was free chili in the clubhouse after our game and it was very welcome. I doubt we will want beef stew or coq au vin tonight . . .
