This is the second lake in our Town. This lake is only about 1 mile long but very deep and cold. It almost entirely fed by springs. It is Paradox Lake and gets its name because the outlet becomes an inlet in the spring of the year. I spent all of my childhood and most of my adult life on this lake. Lived as they say just down the road from this beach that this picture was taken from.
I am up early. Couldn't get back to sleep but that's ok have lots I want to get done today. Yesterday I did drive to the next town and did a quick job and picked up a few things from Walmart that I had been wanting to get. When I got home not real sure what I did accomplish but it wasn't much. Did some watering in the shop then spent a good portion of the afternoon getting my menu done for the Lions' Thanksgiving Dinner that is 2 weeks from Monday. Reviewed all my notes from last year, got the recipes out and did a shopping list. Checked prices on line at different stores to see where the best prices are. Most of what I have left to by aren't things that will be on sale. I have the turkey already so the sides are what I need. Will put in an order to Walmart this coming week to pick up all of the staples I can get now then watch the sales for the following week and finish the shopping then. I will try to get the rolls done this week and in the freezer.
I got a call yesterday that the parts are in for my freezer and they will be here Tuesday morning to install them. Then I have to job of putting everything back in it if I can find it. I will do inventory as I go. This morning I am going to make a Butterscotch, graham cracker Cheesecake Bar. I am making half a recipe to see how I like it and how well it freezes.
I need to work outside today and tomorrow at the moment it is 40° and the high is to be 44°. It will be cloudy this morning and maybe some sun this afternoon. I have one little job I have to do here in town and will do the transfer station run with a bunch of cardboard and to DGD's with the garbage and recyclables.
Have a great day.

Good morning! It's cooler and clear this morning. Going to be another dry day. We sure do need rain! Our salmon cobb salad was delicious. We had it with pita. Not sure what I will do tonight for dinner. I did sort through the freezer and pulled out a small smoked ham to make a boiled dinner sometime soon. Light housekeeping is on the menu for this morning. That's it for now! Enjoy Saturday! Waving!

Good morning everyone. Bet, just love the pictures that you post of your area. I can’t even take pictures anymore. Can’t keep my hands still enough, they shake and pictures are blurry. Sure enjoy the pictures everyone shares on this site. Ann, do you ever miss the old place? You lived there for a very long time. I really enjoyed my house, but couldn’t keep up with it anymore. Never really looked back after we moved here. Chris, how I envy you your sewing. Used to do a lot of it. We made the sad decision yesterday that my sewing machine will be the next thing to go from here. One of my DGDs will take it I’m sure. Will get that ready, go through all my sewing supplies etc. Bedding today. Will make Hamburger Soup for supper, Best of Bridge recipe, makes a lot, enough to get us through the winter. That’s why no posting the last couple days, hands were too sore from all that chopping. In the old days would have had it done in half an hour. Will probably save the sorting of my sewing supplies for tomorrow. Bbl. Jan

Good morning. The mornings will start to get more chilly now and the day time highs will be in the 70's. Today will be the last 80 for quite some time. I hated to do it but the house got so warm yesterday that I had to turn the a/c on to cool the house for sleeping. Then the heat to take the bite out this morning. Such is fall in AZ.
Not much on the agenda today. But I do need to plug in the air compressor to blow out the two reusable air filters and do a little dusting. If I am bored enough I'll wash the golf cart or car.
Tomorrow is pot luck at church but I'm not staying for that. There is a lot of sickness going around and I don't need that. I'll wear a mask while in church. Half the maintenance and office crew is sick here too. It's going from one to another and back. It seems kind of early for that to start.
Bet, reading your thread wore me out. You work so very hard. Your pictures are so beautiful. So kind of you to share them.
Ann a pretty easy day here too. Kind of nice to have those kind of days. :)
Chris no time change here. But I'm happy that DST will be done elsewhere. Now with just one hour difference it will be easier to chat with my family and friends up north of here. So happy to hear that you got a full 8 hours of sleep. :)
Jan, sad to hear that you will be losing your sewing. Not being able to do what we have loved, is so hard. I can relate. HUGS
Stay warm and safe everyone.

Bet, I guess it is time to think about Thanksgiving Dinner, though we have a little more time than you do with the Lions. We've decided to do the restaurant thing instead of making it all ourselves. DD did some dedicated searching for restaurant menus that offer what we call normal food. From experience, it's best to check the dressing first and if there's anything odd in it (again our opinion only), then that restaurant gets the flick. She's found one that looks good so we're all set. Jan, I did some veggie prep this morning that left my shoulders and knees aching. I'm sorry it hurts to do the things you love. I, like mamma, can relate. Tonite's supper will be salmon with broccoli and mashed potatoes. Sweet dreams.

I slept well last night too and it felt good. DH made us bacon & eggs for breakfast and we both enjoyed that.
I've gotten laundry done -- need to put sheets back on our bed -- and have been working on the insurance inventory since then. DH looked over it this morning and as I expected, noticed some things that I didn't. So I've been updating and we will check it over one more time. We're determined to get it submitted this weekend.
He's grading today -- it's a busy time of the semester with students registering for next semester, which means lots of advising meetings, and also tests and projects to be graded.
Well, I am going to go fold laundry, watch football, and snack on graham crackers & pumpkin dip. Sounds like a pretty good plan to me!

Another day that is trying to get away from me. Can't say I achieved a lot so far but on the other hand I've been on the go most of the day. I'm trying to use as much of what is in the fridge freezer as possible so that come Tuesday there isn't too much to empty out. We ordered all new appliances for the kitchen just a couple of weeks ago and got a call last Friday (less than a week after ordering unlike the 4 - 5 months last time we did this). This coming Tuesday was the first time the plumber was available to hook up the dishwasher so our delivery date was chosen for us. Living in the condo, we are not allowed to do that kind of thing ourselves. Of course Tuesday is canning day for me so hubby will be here and when I come home it should all be done. So really, not much shopping going on here until at least Wednesday. From what was in the freezer there, hubby chose lamb chops for supper tonight - haven't had lamb in ages. I'll do roast potatoes with that at hubby's request and carrots and peas, my choice, to add lots of colour to the plates! Have a lovely day.

Good evening. Just a quick stop to read what everyone has been up to today. Sounds like a busy day for most. We did turn sunny this afternoon and the temperature made it to 49° but I imagine the sun was hitting it when it registered that high. I am pushing 12 1/2 hours right not and not sure how much further I will make it. Have be busy all day outside and with the cool wind it make you real sleepy when you come inside. Spent a couple or hours this morning straightening up the house. Loaded the dishwasher after I finishe making the butterscotch, graham cracker cheesecake bars. That is emptied and put away. Got a lot of things put away today so making progress. Made a quick trip to town and did a service order that had to be done by today. My neighbor is here this weekend and he came over with his bucket loader and got the sand moved off my drive way for me and I finished up most of the leaves that had to be taken care of on the driveway.
I'm just going to wish everyone a enjoyable evening and see you in the AM.
