Good morning! It's a cold start to my day at 38°. It's snowing just a little north of us!!! Yesterday was a lazy day. I didn't even venture out of the apartment. Chili for supper was good. I made Tostitos with cheese melted in the center of each. Good with a little scoop of chili! So far so good with no wildfires starting around here, but other places are not so lucky. Walkaerobics friends are visiting today and staying for lunch. Not sure what we'll do for dinner. Enjoy the day! Waving!

Good morning friends.
Ann- It snowed here during the night and a bit this morning. None stayed on the ground. It is currently 30° here. Roads are wet.
Bet- We have a pair of Bald Eagles that live here at the dam and we see them often. I love how majestic they look flying over us. We get to see them raise a chick each year.
My friend from Maui left for PA on the train yesterday. We had a great visit. She is my nieces Mom. I made her Seafood Chowder as it is her favorite dish. We picked apples and made a pie. I made applesauce last night and today I will can some apple pie filling as well.

Good morning! We moved to the house yesterday and are still figuring out where things are. But overall it is much nicer than the hotel. This morning felt more like normal than I've had in a month. Another meeting with the contractor tomorrow so hoping for things to start happening.

Good morning. It is 29° cloudy and the ground is white and its not frost. I guess there was some freezing rain first so am on a delayed start and maybe a cancellation for work today. I got a lot done yesterday afternoon when I got home from work. The back deck is ready for winter. All of the hanging baskets and and railing planters are emptied and put away. Got all the side yard cleaned up and everything in the shed including equipment from the garage. I still have the big front deck to do including about 20 hanging baskets to dump, clean out the greenhouse and hope for a warm day to get that down. I am looking at Thursday at this point. Alice cleaned 3/4 of the main house last night and just finished the kitchen which I will go mop now and then I will do the bathroom. Did 3 loads of laundry also last night. Two are folded and need to be put away and the third is in the dryer waiting to be taken care off. And I hope to get on the road and get 4 stores done today as well as go to the transfer station and drop garbage and recyclables off at DGDs. Alice is done so must go mop. Will try to get back tonight.
Ann, glad you had a relaxing day at home. Enjoy you lunch today.
Chris, I have never seen an eagle but they are all around the east shore of the lake. I have seen Osprey nesting near by. You certainly gave your friend a enjoyable time while she was here visiting. How are the quilts coming along?
Elza, so glad you are finally in a real house. Hope all goes well with the contractor today and you don't have to wait forever for him to get you on his schedule to start work. Here it would be months. Everyone is booked up until spring.

Good morning.
Not as chilly this morning and not as hot this afternoon. But, the wind is to increase and make the dirt really fly. Looks like the porch will need cleaning one day this week. I'll need to use the leaf blower this time, the broom won't be enough.
A load of clothes in the washer, Mandy enjoying the porch, and on my second cup of coffee and last cookie. Not a whole lot planned for today although I could finish the dusting, there isn't much left.
Bet, the bald eagle is my most favorite bird. Something we don't see down here.
I just remembered I need to take out a chicken breast to make Mandy some more food. Maybe I'll put some in a pasta salad so I have some protein. If I make the pieces small enough I won't mind or notice the chicken as much.
Time to dig out the chicken from the messy freezer.....

Good morning. I saw when I came into this site that I hadn't hit post on my message yesterday. It was just sitting there. So I will address some of it.
Birdy- I hope they have your wheel chair fixed this morning. That is another accident waiting to happen. It should be a priority.
Lori- you have done alot and are still recovering, you need to take care.
Bet- we had many eagles in North Dakota and Minnesota. They sure are beautiful soaring thru the sky. The university in Grand Forks has a web cam where it shows an eagle sitting on its egg. It's every year they show it. Fun to watch.
You guys can keep your snow and ice roads, lol. We are at 71° right now and going up to 91°. I love fall here.Just wish we had the changing colors of the leaves, I do miss that.
Elza- that has to feel better then a motel room. I hope they can get started on your place soon. I did try to go to the S B church yesterday, but I drove into the parking lot and watched people going in and I was under dressed so I left.
Mamma- we need to go to Albertsons as they have chicken breast in the butcher department for 99 cents a pound.
Chris- glad you had a good weekend with family.
Ann- enjoy your visit with friends today.
Just cards planned today. We had made turkey and all the trimmings yesterday so will have left overs for a few days. The carcass is in the freezer waiting for cooler weather to make soup.

As I suspected, I am in the middle of a new water tank being installed. These young'uns are big and strong and make those stairs look easy. With a water tank in tow, no less. I've been heating water on the stove so will be wonderful to have hot water again. Supper will be a Stauffer's meal from the freezer. Sweet dreams

Good day! I just got back home from eating lunch at the Care center with DH...they served meatloaf! They make the best. Supper will be a grilled ham steak and baked sweet potatoes.
Yesterday was just a typical Sunday here, church, and lunch there. They served chili or taco soup or white chicken chili. I opted for the last choice and it was delicious. No announcement was made regarding bringing desserts so I had nothing planned. Then, around 7 a.m. we get a text on our church app saying don't forget your dessert. So, I dropped off DH and our rider then drove to the store where I bought a cake and a tray of cookies. I warned the gal don't tell anyone that Tammy brought a store bought cake! I have a reputation to uphold-lol. Home for a nap and a lazy day.
So far today I bought groceries, picked up prescriptions at the drugstore and put in a load of laundry. I plan on doing more laundry and will mop floors today. Also plan on making a couple of the things I need for serving the mission tomorrow. I am making a marinated veggie salad, and oreo torte dessert.
Helen, I always wondered why builders thought it was a good idea to put water heaters in the attic???? Glad you are getting it taken care of.
No snow or frost here...it is about 86*!
Elza, glad you made the move into a house. Hope time goes by quickly for you.
Waving to everyone. must run, I have a lot to do and have not even brought all the groceries into the house yet. I was running late so only brought the cold stuff in. Have a nice day!

Hello and good afternoon, friends!
Trying another new recipe today for our dinner called Slow Cooker Squash Stew. DH and I just lifted the lid on the slow cooker and took a taste, both of us finding it flavorless. We added a few other ingredients in hopes that it will be better, but??? Live and learn...hopefully it can be saved.
PT therapist said this morning she thinks that I would benefit with additional time, so I've been approved for another eight sessions that will take me into December. Today, FedEx finally delivered my over-the-counter support stockings, so I should no longer need to have my legs bandaged (in OT) while waiting for my custom-made stockings to be finished. Once the custom socks arrive, I'll wear them daily and after several weeks the therapist will check to make sure the stockings are doing what they are supposed to.
Ann, hope you and your friends enjoyed lunch together today.
Chris, how nice your Maui friend was able to spend some time with you and enjoy some Fall activities.
Bet, what a busy bee you were yesterday! Glad you were able to accomplish so much! Hope that your weather cooperates and will warm up this week, so you are able to complete what is left outside before the freezing/snowy winter starts up.
Elza, glad you and DH are now moved into your rental home. Hope your contractor will be able to complete the work on your home quicker than you think and you'll be able to get back into it before too much longer.
mamma, hope you and Mandy are enjoying your day. This is supposed to be a week of breezy conditions here, so we'll be sweeping too at the end of the week.
Elaine, after all the cooking yesterday, nice that you'll have plenty of leftovers to enjoy today. Now that many of your "winter residents" have returned, bet your card games are more exciting---enjoy!
Helen, sorry to read that you're having to have a new water tank installed, but nice that you are able to get it done quickly and things will be back to normal 1-2-3!
Tammy, I had to laugh at you having to pick-up a store-bought cake and cookies. So unlike you, but nice that you were able to get something at the last minute, even if it wasn't home-made. I know a gal that always tries to keep a few different varieties of cookies in her freezer for last-minute events like this---after 3 months if she doesn't use them her grandchildren enjoy them, and she bakes/freezes another few dozen.
Birdy, hope that your work order was pushed to the front of the pile for your wheelchair repair before you have another accident.
Just gave dinner another taste---no better than earlier. Definitely not a keeper! Lori

Sorry today's new recipe was not a huge success Lori - that's always disappointing! Good news tho that more physio has been approved for you. My day just seems to have disappeared. I started with laundry before 7 and it was just go, go, go! Many of our canning customers return their jars to us so we can reuse them (with new lids). I had picked up several dozen from our local charity shop and once they had been run thru the dishwasher, they were ready to be delivered to the church kitchen which I did this morning. Then it was off to the grocery store. After lunch, it was time to get our own Christmas cake made. I put the fruit to soak in brandy yesterday and everything else was ready. The recipe was supposed to make an 8 x 8 fruit cake but it looked like there was too much for my 8 x 8 pan so I pulled out a little 5" round pan and had enough batter to fill both pans. Then it took a lot longer to cook than quoted in the recipe. However, they are now both out of the oven and cooling. It was a new to me recipe so we'll find out in a couple of months if it's one I'll make again. While the cakes were cooking I got the ironing from this morning's laundry done and everything is put away. Hope you've all had a good day!
