Friday, October 25 "What's Cookin?"

Today has had its good and bad moments. Before I left for work at 7:30 I managed to get all of the house plants watered and the Crotons rotated to help keep the growing without leaning too badly toward the window. Also got the small stand placed and the 3 cactus that didn't have a home on that and took the craft table down from the middle of the living room. Work went well and was home at 11:30 for to wait for the refrigeration guy to show up. He was here at little after 12. He had good news for me the only problem with the freezer is a small fan. Real nice fellow and it seems that I new his parents when I worked at the insurance agency. It still isn't going to be a cheap fix but better than buying a new one. The get $100 for a service call which I expected. He called me back with a quote for the cost of the fan and installation and that is over $200. The same type of fan went on one of my refrigerators and I went on line, ordered the part and installed it myself and cost me less than $50 but I guess $300 is better than over $1,000. Then the day went downhill. I can not get the new gas heater in the shop to light. It is exactly like the one I had and the one that was DSOiL's which I could light. Just hope I didn't get a dude. DSOil will be up when he gets a chance to see if he can get it going. I need heat now so have the electric going to warm it up and will turn it off when I go to bed and hope it holds during the night.

Considering I had nothing planned for today, I have barely stopped.  One load of laundry was quick and easy but then I got into the fridge and freezers - again!   They are all clean and tidy, and organised.  All that is left to do is update the inventory on my laptop - even that is partly done and I should be able to get it finished tomorrow morning.  Early on, in the kitchen freezer, I came across some leftover roast pork and decided that would be good for this evening's meal.   I was planning to make roast potatoes but ended up with mashed instead, along with broccoli and apple sauce.  So good!
Glad your freezer is fixable Bet.  Hope your move this weekend goes smoothly Elza.  I can't begin to imagine making an inventory of every thing in even just a part of the house.
